Couple of recent news about the game.

First being ESPN and Capcom are collaborating on the upcoming Street Fighter V World Championship with the finals to be shown on tv on July 17th.

The other news being Balrog, Ibuki, and Story Mode dlc packs for the game were released today and requires around 16 GB in free space on the hard drive.

It does have a "so bad it's good" quality, but I still found myself cringing at a lot of stuff.

Was cool how each of the dolls got a special move. Oh and Decapre is so going to be a season 2 character. Calling it now.

In the Brazil part, I love how Cammy and Chun Li are WAAAAAAYYYY above the local authorities' pay grade, and they could easily just show the cops their credentials and be off with decapre, but instead cammy's just like "nah I'm gonna beat the shit out of this old guy who's probably a day away from retirement."

Over the weekend, Capcom announced that the Pro Tour DLC is out now, providing a new stage and costumes for a limited time. For the "low" price of $24.99, you can nab three costumes (Chun-Li, Cammy, "mystery costume"), the Ring of Destiny stage, new color options, and two exclusive titles. You can also spring for piecemeal options if you're so inclined.

Capcom has been pulling their usual shady crap since this game dropped. They've just been more stealthy about it.

They offered Alex and Guile for free for a limited time. In that time people's fight money just sat there since the characters weren't available to unlock in the shop. I garuantee capcom did that on purpose hoping people would impatiantly spend their fight money on costumes and colors, then drop real money on the characters when they are no longer free, since earning fight money after survival and story have been completed is a glacial progress.

Dude looks badass. Like Ken, he's had a big overhaul to differentiate him more from Ryu. That launcher looks like it has nasty potential, plus HOT SHIT you can actually see the Raging Demon attack. So hyped.

I'm treating myself to an arcade stick for christmas, so I'll be hopping back on this soon. Though I will be utter shit until I get used to thd stick.

Similar to Urien, Akuma will have a special costume included by the way of a cheat code when he arrives for Season 2.

Discovered at a pre-season event in the video below at PSX, pressing holding in a certain button combination (it's either LP+MP+HP+LK + the up direction or LP+MK+HK) while selecting Akuma will alter this outfit into a shirtless rendition.

Zangief is the only pure grappler in season 1, so I would guess we're getting a second here. Would be awesome if they brought in a Saturday Night Slam Masters character like Biff, or that fake Vader guy.

In "lol Capcom" news, they made the season 2 balance changes freely useable on the PC by accident.

Here's something interesting:
According to SteamDB, a new 'test200' branch has been added to the SFV depot (for reference, we are on 'test13'), which is 1.76 GB larger than the current version. What is notable is that unlike the other branches, it looks like Capcom has not put a password on this one, either by mistake or because this is intended as a yet-to-be-announced public test.

You can try to grab it by clicking on SFV in your library, selecting properties, going to the 'BETAS' tab, and selecting 'test200' from the drop-down.

Same goof by Capcom also ended up revealing the next update for the game is going to include a public badge of shame for players who ragequit a lot.

It seems that the next update to Street Fighter V will introduce a ragequitter icon that permanently adorns the profiles of those who habitually quit early. The most reliable players -- the ones who see a match through to the end, even if it's bitter defeat -- will get a badge of honor. "Special icons will be displayed on the Fighter Profiles of players who frequently disconnect, as well as those who never do, making it easier for players with the same icon to battle against each other," a message reads.

Super is happening according to a rumor, free update.

With that one down, here are the SFV leaks! Season 2's remaining characters are Abigail, Menat, and Zeku.

A second cinematic story mode is happening. The base roster plus the Season 1 characters were prologues for the general cinematic story mode. Season 2 character's story modes for Akuma, Ed, and Kolin, which all take place after A Shadow Falls are prologues for the second cinematic story mode.

Ready for the biggest of bombshells? Super Street Fighter V is happening.
But it'll be a free update.
It won't make the base game useless either. It's really nothing more than an update. A glorified one, but an expansion none the less.

But what does SSFV contain? Lets run that down, shall we?
It adds:
Arcade Mode
Extra Battle
Some kind of PvE mode against the Illuminati
Some expanding on the existing mechanics
New Critical Arts
But it doesn't end there. SSFV brings with it a UI overhaul, and maybe more than that too.
You're probably curious of the characters too, huh? Those 6 will be Sagat, Sakura, Oro, C. Viper, Q, and Necro.

It's alright but the nostalgia costume won't really do much for me as it's mostly her face that's bothering me. If she's supposed to have done some growing up, then cool I guess. I won't really have much of a problem with it. That would explain why she looks so different.

It's just her face looks a bit too "girly" to be Sakura. She doesn't have that "tomboyish" look. Playing in her nostalgia costume would be like that episode of The Simpsons when they got someone else to play Lisa.

Some details regarding the new stuff and changes arriving with the Arcade Edition of the game.

There will be an "Extra Battle" mode with a specialty guest costume to buy at the the end of a four-week long challenge. As per Capcom:

Each Crossover Costume requires you to complete four challenges that take place over the span of a month – one challenge per week.
Each time you attempt one of these challenges, you must spend 2,500 Fight Money, In other words, if you successfully complete each of the weekly challenges in one go, you can get that Extra Battle Costume for 10,000 FM!
Once you complete all four challenges, the Crossover Costume for that month is yours!
These challenges are time exclusive, so make sure to log in each week to complete them, especially if you have your eyes on that month’s Crossover Costume.

Every so often there will be a "Golden Shadaloo Soldier" fight which can net players bonus fight money, though the way Fight Money is earned in general is changing as well:

Beginning January 16, modes that offered one-time finite batches of Fight Money will no longer do so. This includes Character Stories, the General Story (A Shadow Falls), Trials, Survival, and Demonstrations – if you haven’t completed these modes yet, there’s still a few weeks left to do so before the changes occur in January!

If you’re a new player worried about getting enough Fight Money to get the Crossover Costumes, you still gain experience points from all modes except for the General Story. You receive Fight Money each time a character gains a level, and playing through each Character Story is a great way to quickly gain experience points for each character. Do this for all 28 characters and you’ll be the proud owner of at least 200,000 Fight Money. Combine this amount with Fight Money earned through online battles and recurring Missions and you’ll have plenty to use for Extra Battle Mode, additional characters and costumes!

Checked the update out for a bit. Arcade mode seems really cool.

People are saying Sakura is garbage and "low-tier". Dunno about all that but she is definitely fun to play. New anti-air fireball is cool.

Disappointed it's not Decapre. With the other characters already confirmed as Akira and Oro, the mystery character was the only one I was keeping an eye on. Oh, well. I still got my girl, Falke, to carry me.

Bleh, outside of Dan and Rose this season's group of characters isn't really doing much for me. Why does a Rival Schools character like Akira need to be in this game?

She looks cool for sure but I'm just confused as to why the streams need to cross. I guess it's a receipt for Sakura being in their game 23 years ago. Which raises the question of whether or not we'll ever see another Rival Schools game.

Tried out Akira for a bit. Nothing there that really interests me but like I said, this isn't exactly a character that I was hoping would be in the game. Oro is next on the list. Hopefully he's not too complicated.
