Is that just another attempt at recreating Miz/A-Ry all over again? Because, it's pretty obvious that at one poinr The Miz will get pissed off at Sandow, and it will begin a feud between the two...

Except Sandow is about a million times more talented in every way than Alex Riley.

Yeah Sandow is a million times better than Riley, and I actually like Riley.

This will be this generation's Batista turning face on Evolution moment.

All credit to Sandow, he built himself back up from nothing and it's great to watch him. I really miss his persona from when he debuted with the robe, the vocabulary, cartwheels and pink trunks. Even the way he held the mic like brandy was great. The man is a talent that shines shit, and that's really the story of the Tag champs. And Miz is playing his part perfectly, too.

But Mizdow is already a face, unlike Alex Riley, who was just a guy who beat up the Miz.

I'm curious to see where Sandow's character goes after he and The Miz split. Is he going to go back to being an intellectual? That's not usual face fare, but I could see Sandow updating it and somehow making it "cool." Maybe he combines it with his "Idol" gimmick in OVW, and has two beautiful women who worship his learnedness at all times? Will the pink trunks return? Are fans nostalgic enough for that version of Sandow to mark out for that? Or the cartwheel? Or "You're welcome!" after he kicks The Miz's ass?

Or does Sandow go somewhere new? They haven't mentioned his past recently, and they could go with a complete re-modeling of Sandow. Does he continue being a stunt-double, just using it to mock his opponents during matches? Does he begin stealing their finishing moves to beat them?

The problem is that I don't see people accepting Mizdow outside of him being the stunt double. He's over right now because of the gimmick. Ending the team ends the gimmick and then he's just the boring Damien Sandow who never got over and wore pink tights for no good reason.

Sandow was pretty over as a heel, let's be honest.

I think his original gimmick was so different from the normal plain-named, black trunk wearing guys that populated the roster for the last decade. The mannerisms, the speech pattern, everything was detailed perfectly as a heel. He was over, very much so.

Why did Savage wear pink trunks? Who cares.

Why did Austin wear black trunks in an era where everyone had flashy ring attire?

It makes you take notice - even if you don't realize it at the time.

He was Smackdown over. Not the same thing as really being over.

Actually, there was a reason why Savage wore pink trunks. It was a clever juxtaposition to his nickname of "Macho Man." Also, it didn't hurt that he was batshit insane and no one had the balls to call him out on wearing pink trunks and calling himself Macho.

I do think that Sandow could get the pink trunks, the cartwheels, the brandy-glass mic-holding, the robe, and the eloquent speech patterns oddly over as a face. Everything about the character originally screamed "heel!", but we live in an age of irony. Vince McMahon and Kevin Dunn don't seem to really get that, as they kind of botched Bo Dallas, Paige and Adam Rose out the gate, but I do think it could be done.

Imagine Sandow coming out for his new talk show segment (to compete with Miz TV), and they put out a nice rug, some leather chairs, a bookcase, and a mahogany desk. Send out two attractive girls from NXT (Alexa Bliss and...JoJo?), who hang on to every word the cravated Sandow says. Instead of talking down to the WWE Universe, he mixes in the sense of humor he has with talking across to them, and instead saves the condescending speak for his heel targets.

Have him speak emotionally to the crowd when he says "I was so brilliant growing up that I was told I could be anything I wanted. They laughed when I said I wanted to be a WWE Superstar. They wanted me to be a doctor, or a lawyer, or a world leader -- but I was determined to be the World Champion. When I won Money in the Bank and was goaded into an unplanned match against John Cena, and failed to achieve my goal...I crumbled. They say there's a fine line between genius and insanity, and my mind stopped working for me. Hell, I actually thought The Miz was worth imitating for a while there. But now I've regained my composure, and I can once again achieve anything I set my mind to. And Michael, my next achievement is kicking your hind-quarters around this ring. You're welcome!"

Obviously he can do better than that, but I could see the fans latching onto that. Include his stunt-double persona in there a little bit by having him use the finishing move of his opponents to defeat them. He makes The Miz tap-out to a Figure Four, for example.

Sandow wore pink trunks because he's an intellectual. He knew that wearing pink would trigger psychological assumptions that would prevent his foolishly macho opponents from seeing just how dangerous he was. Pink is also historically linked to passion, love -- and Sandow has read lots of a book about great conquering men whose passion elevated them above the judgement of the simpletons around them.

I would love to see Sandow take on a "Bruce Campbell in those Old Spice commercials"-type personality.
