WWE is running out of "fun" characters. Had the little one watching the Royal Rumble and barely anyone caught his attention. The Demon Kane was the biggest highlight to him and he was in awe that the devil sent a minion to the WWE. He was rooting so hard for Kane to be eliminated because of this. He was also going to Dolph because I told him he was friends with Cena (He was PISSED Cena was not in the rumble).
It seems that most people coming in wrestling have a pretty basic gimmick. You have the Wyatt family of course but there is not much more that comes around and actually sticks. Little kids (Who is the main focus the WWE wants to capture right?) do not want to see New Day come in with nothing special against them. Kids have imaginations that can run wild and the WWE is basically taking that away from their biggest audience. There needs to be more wrestlers with "other" abilities than just wrestling for kids to get attached too.

There needs to be a wrestler called "The Testicle Terrorist" whose entire moveset is doing low-blows to other wrestlers and his finisher is grabing someone by the balls until they tap out.
...
I have no idea where I was going with this.

I know they have always targeted kids but now that they have the network and how many kids can buy the network. So they have changed to more of a reality aspect to the show witch targets adults.

I kinda agree. See I love gimmicks, but there's a limit to how far they should go. If you get too cartoony then you will alienate a lot of people too. Gimmicks are fun, but they need to be slightly grounded, i.e. they need to be acknowledged as being gimmicks ala modern Undertaker or Wyatt. Trying to pretend they're actually zombies or monsters makes it just... stupid. Even for a kid. However, explaining it as the character being eccentric/playing mind games on his opponents is fine. Guys like Deuce and Domino I think are perfect. The gimmick should be like a peacocking technique. Something to get you noticed, but not something to be taken seriously. In other words we don't need Undertaker living in a graveyard or evil castle and kidnapping people to indoctrinate into a cult again.

I kind of think they have all the stereotypes covered, they just have to use them properly.
