Even though it's goofy, it's actually a really good promo I think. I feel like he actually gets it and it's better than what we get on Raw from a lot of the guys and the "professional writers." It especially works for him because you know he's not meant to be taken seriously.

Don't let Vince see this or he's going to try to blow Stewart for some mainstream acceptance.

Oh we know how WWE handles getting this kind of attention. It's gonna get weird.

Jon Stewart on Raw would be fucking great in theory but they'd script him and take all the fun out of it.

Frank Drebin

I wonder if Stewart would settle for a handy from Kevin Dunn

LOL. Thoughts of John Stewart leaving The Daily Show to write for WWE. That would be amazing. I want to see John Stewart mic up with Heyman.

That would be incredibly amazing to witness.

Sadly this is what would happen:

I LOVE Jon Stewart so much and he follows the product based on his past comments!

Frank Drebin
02-19-2015, 06:58 PM
He has said his kids watch it, and has gotten into it a little because of that. I know hes gone with them to live shows. I do think he "gets it" based on hows hes presented wwe on the show.

He will probably continue to like it until wwe starts calling his cell every 10 minutes to get him to appear on Raw.

Mr. Nerfect

Ha, that was actually much better than what I expected it to be.

And a lot of Daily Show fans will end up watching Raw this Monday thinking "Why did I think this was a good idea?"

There is only one acceptable way this can go down to legitimize this business for the Daily Show crowd and keep them tuned in:

Maybe he could be the one to end Rusev's undefeated streak...he did take issue with him and Lana talking about Russia's alleged superiority over the U.S.

Not saying give him the US title or anything; that'd be fucking stupid, but I'd watch it.

Because Jon Stewert and Rollins are both entertainers.

Meh.

It reminds me of those horrible days when Jay Leno tried to wrestle or when Bret Hart appeared on some show then lost the US title to Roddy Piper due to interference by some dude.

I'd rather Rollins had a serious match or used the briefcase for tax return forms or something.

So let me get this straight...you think he's dumb (not using your term, that, sir is offensive to people who actually have mental issues...) for carrying a briefcase with him everywhere which contains a chance to cash it in for a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match anytime he wants? :wtf:

yeah because he hasn't cashed it in yet and has had plenty of opportunities to do so so yes he is retarded. no offence

What if Brock Lesnar and a referee happened to be in the crowd at the Daily Show and Rollins DIDN'T have his briefcase on him???

Mr. Nerfect
03-01-2015, 11:05 AM
For some reason, #1-wwf-fan's post made me want to see an angle where a WWE Champion and a referee's strong off-air relationship is threatened by the presence of the Money in the Bank briefcase. The champion still hangs out with his friend (lover?), despite knowing this means there's a referee close to him all the time.

This leads to the tragic climax where the referee either has to register the cash-in or dishonor his role as a WWE official.

Now that its happening tonight....on a scale of 1-10 how uncomfortable will this be? 1 being Hugh Jackman (self professed fan who gets into it, understands it and is written into a feud in a well done way) and 10 being Kathy Lee and Hoda (I'm embarrassed to be fan, and I hope no one is watching me watch this) .

#1-norm-fan
03-02-2015, 03:46 PM
Where would Jeremy "Summerfest" Piven rank on that scale? It wasn't embarrassing in the Hoda/Kathy Lee way, but it was certainly uncomfortable.

03-02-2015, 03:50 PM
Piven was a solid 7.

I think Stewart will be a 2 or 3. The guy is a long time fan and watches with his kids, so he gets it.

Stewart somehow treated Rollins' character seriously and got into it with him without it coming off in a way where non-wrestling fans would see it and be like "LOL HE'S ACTING LIKE WRESTLING IS REAL! SO DUMB!" That seemed like it would be a really fucking tough line to tiptoe. He actually made wrestling seem way less dorky than it actually is which is a pretty big accomplishment.

I thoroughly enjoyed the segment. Felt like Stewart was a fucking natural. He didn't get much of a reaction upon showing up, and slowly worked up the crowd and delivered an excellent promo. By far the most well done involved celeb program they've done in a while.
