DISCUSSION - Some thoughts on Billy Kidman, X-Pac, DDP, Konnan, Jeff Hardy, etc.
-As some of you know, tonight will be the 1st Smackdown that I will have watched since last August. However, I would like to know as to what's been happening with Billy Kidman. Has he been injured? If he has come off of injury, has he not been the same since? (ability wise). Why are the WWE pissing away this kid? The guy has a reasonable amount of talent. Granted, he's got DICK for mic skills (and doesn't have much for charisma), but that's where a guy like Paul Heyman or Theodore Long comes in. Hell - I'm pretty sure that Kidman would be a HELLUVA lot more over then Mark Jindrak if he was aligned with Theodore Long. How come we haven't seen a Kidman/Mysterio feud? Will we ever see an RVD/Kidman feud...........a feud that could EASILY re-vitalize the careers of both men.
-As most of you know, X-Pac, DDP, and Konnan were at Judgment Day visiting friends. While this rumor seems to be false, there is word going around that all 3 of these men could be signed in the immediate future. What do you guys think about this? Personally - I wouldn't mind seeing all 3 men head to Smackdown.
DDP and X-Pac are veteran's, that can help put over up-and-comers. Furthermore, both men are quite 'familiar' amongst the fans. Konnan, from what I hear, fairly talented (I haven't seen him before). He'd be a great addition as well.
-Speaking of great additions, I'm hoping that Jeff Hardy comes back to the WWE (on Smackdown). If the WWE try and reform the "Hardy Boys" on Raw, then I'll be pissed (it will be VERY counter-productive for Matt.....who has "potential" with his Mattitude gimmick. The WWE just need to push him). Jeff in the Cruiserweight division however, should make things interesting.
Jeff Hardy was also a former IC champion, and so he could just as easily become a US title contender.

Billy was on Smackdown tonight and I won't spoil it for you, but boy he gets his. You must live on the west coast right?

Correct. I'm in Portland Oregon right now. Don't worry, I've read the spoilers and so I know what will happen.
The thing I don't understand with the WWE, is why they are burying Kidman?
If their line of reasoning is that he doesn't have charisma, superb mat skills, or mic skills, then why do they try and push a guy like Mark Jindrak?
I'm sure the fans would care MUCH more about Kidman's aerial ability than Jindrak's "size" (if that makes sense).
The WWE love doing "cheesy" love angles. Why can't they do something with Kidman and Torrie Wilson?

I actually think they might have Kidman join Mordecai soon and that would be the start of Mordecai's group. At the end of Mordecai destroying Kidman, he kind of knelt over him with his arms open as if he was accepting Kidman or something. You'll see it later, but I don't know if that's a sign or not.

Kidman being a part of Mordecai's stable wouldn't be too bad. Although I'd rather see Kidman be his "own man", it seems unlikely that the WWE would push him anyways.
Nonetheless, Kidman potentially being a part of Mordecai's stable excites me for two reasons.
1) It gives Kidman a new direction.
2) It makes Mordecai look 'important'. Him being the leader of this stable really sets the stage for him as a future main-eventer. :y:

Yeah, you know it's funny, the only time I really liked Kidman was when he was with The Flock, so I would love for him to be in a stable with Mordecai.
But, let me respond to your othere stuff:
I know am one of the only big fans of K-Dawg and really big fans of X-pac on this board, but I like these guys. They have that "cool" edge to them and I can see them as a tag team using the "thug" type gimmick. They were in the original NWO as the original "Wolfpac," although it might of just been Nash, Hall and Pac. But, I wouldn't mind them together.
DDP: I never liked him, EVER. So, I don't care if he comes back or not. He would be good as a manager though.
I'd like to see Billy Kidman algin with Paul Heyman and become part of the ECW stable; I know he was never in ECW, but he was part of WCW/ECW Invasion.
The line-up would be as follows (hypothetically):
Paul Heyman: Manager, does most of the talking
RVD: Leader, credibel WWE Title Challenger
Dudleyz: Bodyguards, roster fillers.
Kidman: Blue Chipper, Randy Orton-like figure, possible U.S. Title Challenger.

I don't really like Kidman. I find him boring, but he was great with the flock. The only reason he ever got over was the Flock and his shooting star press.
I prefer Paul London.
K-Dogg I like. X-Pac I don't. DDP's the man.

I've always liked Kidman, he's great. Has a good aura to him.
X-pac can piss off, DDP is the MAN

Kidman deserves better, then again so do many others on both rosters. The Mordacai angle would be good for him and bring out some personality from working with others like Haas gets from working with someone different in Rico. Konnan would be good for SD, and I hope that rumor I heard of him looking for an announcing job rather than wrestling is false. 1-2-3 Pac annoys me and would do nothing but steal other people's spotlights. DDP would be good, either as a manager or a fighter. It's Nitro all over again on Smackdown.

hope jeff comes back
DDP is really good. Dont know why he moved from being a key member in the InVasion to being just a battle royal member...then a few months later he held the european title.
I'd like him back tho
Xpac tho...NO CHANCE IN HELL! That guy is such a pain in the arse. he has no personality, he's a shit wrestler, and all the fans hate him

Kidman is usally on Velocity these days teaming with Paul London.
I think Kidman is a great piece of talent, btu so was Lance Storm and Kanyon. Kidman could be used as one of the key tag teams on SD or as one of the top CWs on the show. But for some reason they just dont want to use him.
He was supposed to turn heel a while back and feud with Rey but it never got off the ground.
If he feuds with Mordecai, well that wont be good because he'll be squashed (because Mordecai shouldn't be selling at this point), but at least he'll be on TV.
In terms of Jindrak, its all about size, when Vince has to look up to someone he sees money. I dont mind Jindrak's push, and I love Teddy Long, so we'll see. I like that they are pushing him slowly rather than shoving him down our throats.
I think DDP would be a huge asset to Smackdown at this point. I mentioned this in another post, but SD could really use a babyface who can be sacrificed to get over some of the young heels they have. Mordecai, Dupree or Jindrak would all benefit greatly from a program with DDP. He's a good enough worker, and I think he would help add some credibility to some of these unestablished guys on SD.
Konnan I'm not a huge fan of, but I can see where he would fit in with Eddie and Rey. He would be a good guy to have future opponents of Eddie go over on to get to Eddie.
X-Pac is a talented worker, but he's tough to get behind. I cant see how he would help anyone, maybe if they wanted to add more established names to the CW division. Xpac-Rey would be a tremendous match.
Ditto for Jeff Hardy, again I'm not a big fan, but he could help out the CW division.

X-Pac from 1998-99 was tolerable.
From 2002-2002 he was shit.
I'm ashamed to say that the X-Factor was once my favorite move.

I think maybe X-Pac and DDP should come back as managers, and maybe do a little wrestling first. They're both good on the mic, and could help some of these guys with little charisma. Hardy could only add name recognition, and some talent for a little while.

Sorry but your incorrect there matey
THE ORACLE HATH SPOKEN

There's no point in bringing back Jeff Hardy into the CW Division, there's alreayd enough problems with it. More credible superstars are bustingtheir asses on Velocity, there's no need for Jeff Hardy to drain the little credibility the CW Division has left by wrestling again.
Jeff could come back to RAW and reform the Hardy Boyz to fill the tag team division, but it'd kill Matt Hardy's lousy push, and they wouldn't be anything like they used to be.
Kidman is a great wrestler and a great talent, but because he lacks mic skills and charisma he'll never get the break he deserves in the WWE. The problem with Vince McMahon and Co. is that they refuse to leave any WCW personality as it is. Everything has to have a "twist" to give it a new feel. In Kidman's case, he cut his hair short (which looks much less cool than the long, stringy hair he used to have), and fitted him with bike shorts instead of the stylish jean shorts and wifebeater. They took away all of Kidman's appeal and individuality and turned him into another run-of-the-mill wrestler.
As far as X-Pac and Konnan go, I could really care less if they are signed or not. If they do, that's nice, cause X-Pac can have some good matches every now and then and Konnan can be very entertaining sometimes (as long as he's not watered down... I can see Vince restricting him from using his "VIVA LA RAZA!" speech because it's similar to some of Eddie Guerrero's lines). However, if they aren't picked up, it doesn't matter to me because I've never been that big of a fan of either of them, and I don't think they'll do a whole lot for the product as a whole.
DDP, on the other hand, could be a huge superstar if he's used right. And by "used right" I don't mean saddled with the positive thinking guru gimmick. That was just stupid. I want the DDP who was the "People's Champion" in WCW. The writers need to review some old WCW tapes if they want to get the old WCW guys over.
Jeff Hardy, if he returns, should NOT go to the cruiserweight division. We've all seen that Jeff cannot wrestle on his own, and belongs in a tag team environment. Even though Matt is capable of so much more, the fact of the matter is that the best run of his career was in the Hardy Boys. And maybe a return of Team Extreme will help reboot the failing RAW Tag Team division.
