Maybe with or without Luger????
Sting sat down with IGN Sports to promote the new Legends of Wrestling videogame. He notes that he would like to be brought into WWE, so as long as it is done right. “If it were done properly, I would do it. This last WrestleMania would’ve been a good one, WrestleMania XX, just the fact that I’ve never been a part of one. I would definitely do it. You know, Vince and I have talked several times over the past few years. The WrestleMania before, he wanted me to repel out of the ceiling and do something with Stone Cold Steve Austin, and we were set to do it, we were going to do it, but once the attorney’s get going, and it’s not my attorney, he’s only doing what I ask him to do, but once their attorney’s get involved, it’s tough. When I talk to Vince, it’s easy. Anyway, I had to call Vince and tell him that we couldn’t do it. He’s been great every time I’ve talked to him, so you never know. It’s something I’m interested in.” Sting, who’s real name is Steve Borden, points out that he is not an “NWA wrestler” but has been performing there a lot recently.
He was asked about WWE’s Shelton Benjamin and how he is an up-and-coming superstar. Benjamin says he uses many of Sting’s patented moves such as the corer splash, better known as the “Stinger Splash.” Sting says, “I’m flattered. I’ve gotta meet this guy. That’s pretty awesome. There’s no other way to put it. I feel honored that he does that.”

It'd be an even bigger honor if Benjamin wore face paint and beat Evolution up with a bat...

I dunno, it might be weird if Benjamin were to wear white face paint, given the recent comments on RAW.

It'd be better than Orton wearing blackface and putting on a Minstrel show.

Now there completly done with rappelling from the ceiling right? After Owens death. So Sting couldnt do his entrance anymore...

Come on, let's be realistic. Vince doesn't value the lives of his workers. He only cares about the potential for backlash. I can't help but think he'd figger the pops were worth the potential controversy.

Sting's rappelling was a lot more safe anyway. He was heavily strapped in.

That'd be exciting to see Sting's return. I wonder what kind of angle he'd be in. Hopefully he wouldn't show up, job to Orton, then leave. Sting/Rock at WMXXI would be pretty cool.

The last laugh would be on Orton though. He'd never get through all that makeup to spit in Stin's face.
I'd mark out like a bitch for Sting in the WWE, but only, as he said, if it was done right. But with the sounds of Vince's previous plan to have Sting debut from the rafters, it seems like Vince knows how to use him. The Sting character is so interesting and can be extremely entertaining when used in the right storyline, and I would love to see him have one more run in the last big wrestling company.
There are so many dream matches that could occur if this were to take place: HBK vs. Sting, Triple H vs. Sting, Kurt Angle vs. Sting, RVD vs. Sting... the list could go on forever. Needless to say, I'm all for Sting joining the WWE.

Man I hope sting comes to the WWE. I think with bad ratings that they have been having he would be the best thing for them. But then with our luck at Wrestlemania it will be The Rock Vs Sting in the main event. Damn I hate The Rock.

Using Sting isn't a very hard thing, really. Especially if you stick with the most popular Sting era, the crow wannabe.
Sting's character is awesome, but I haven't seen any of his TNA matches, so I don't know how good he's looking in the ring or anything. I wouldn't mind seeing him again, but only if he's not gonna suck up the ring. If he can do it, great. If not, leave me with my memories of the good old days.
Sting in the WWE = :y: I would really like to see the final Flair vs Sting match, potential feuds with Orton, Christian, Y2J etc. So I am all for Sting being in the WWE. And by the way the fact that we could see Sting without having to watch Luger makes it even better.

Yeah, but using Goldberg isn't very hard either, but the WWE decided to put a blonde wig on him and give him a comedy sketch with Goldust his second week in the company. AND they gave him mic time! :nono:
I just don't have a lot of faith in Vinnie Mac anymore.

You know what really sucks about this post from you? It's that I was just about to say that, and yours was the very last post on this thread before the thread was done (at the time of this posting, that is). I'll have to rep you for that. :D
But you are right. Everyone so far in this thread is talking as if if Sting did show up in the WWE (which I would blow my load if he did), that they would put him on RAW. However, they NEED the star power on SmackDown right now, and Sting would be THE guy to give SD some much needed help (I don't know if Vince even gives a shit what happens to SmackDown anymore, but if he does, he would do this). The problem comes with making him heel if they do so (since SD needs heels FAST), since he is mad over as a face at TNA (or was).
But here's hoping Vince does this. It would be a very welcome surprise.

Damn, but you have a point. :(
They're prolly be like, "Well, Cena got over with his Eminem gimmick, so we want to do another rap gimmick. Sting, how do you feel about the ICP?"

I think somebody like Sting has to be on Raw. That way there's no spoilers and the gimmick doesn't get ruined. They only care about the Raw ratings so any new great star would have to go to Raw. He'd also seem more credible on Raw because that's where all the top wrestlers are. I hate to break it to you, but a lot of people a) don't get Smackdown, and b) Don't care about Smackdown. For years people go out of their way to watch Raw, most of those same people occasionally watch Smackdown. You can't put a major star like Sting on Smackdown.

Hopefully he wouldn't show up, job to Orton, then leave.
But you just know that's exactly what they'd do. And it'd still flop; if bringing Mick Foley out of retirement just to job him off to Captain Bland didn't get Orton over, then why would the flagship character of the company WWE has taken each and every opportunity to bury and deem inferior make any difference?
I'm sure L-C would love it, but just thinking about it has me holding back vomit.
Anyways, I never ever ever ever ever ever ever want to see the Stinger come to WWE. If Vince and company couldn't book Goldberg right, there's no way in hell they'd get Sting. On Raw, he'd have to play second fiddle to the never-ending HHH/HBK feud, or get a title feud that will make Chris Benoit look even more like a second-rate champion compared to the "real" main eventers, or like I said, go on a doomed feud to vainly try and put Orton over. On Smackdown, there'd be a little more leeway, but the only thing I could see him doing without hurting the progress of Booker T or Eddie Guerrero is feud with the Undertaker, and I highly doubt they'd let him go over. And after that, what's left for him? Absolutely nothing. Sure, it might be cool to see Sting vs Flair part four-hundred-seventy-two, but I would much rather remember Sting for the legacy he left with WCW, not just another 'old' guy who won't stay retired.

You're kidding, right? Someone actually DOESN'T want Sting to come to the WWE?
Sting would be a VERY good addition, but if they have him on RAW, then that would really start to make their talent pool a little TOO good, and some of the talent will get buried when they shouldn't be. He would HAVE to go on SmackDown. And I think they would be able to use him right while still not having to worry about stinting Booker or Eddie's push (how would he possibly be able to do THAT is beyond me).

First off, the explanations for your a and b are:
a) That's because of them being on UPN, who NEEDS to get more markets (the WWE is thinking about moving SmackDown to FOX, which would be very helpful in that, but in turn, would hinder the TNA deal).
b) That is BECAUSE there's not many main event heels to let the WWE Champ, Eddie, have a feud with (and why they are pushing JBL as hard as they are right now). And that is WHY they need Sting over on SmackDown. The reason many are not caring about SD is because Eddie is more or less carrying THE ENTIRE BRAND right now, and even I would crack under THAT kind of pressure. Yeah, Cena is mad over, but he's unfortunatly not being looked at as much of a calibur yet as Eddie is right now. Everyone else who could be a big star there is eiter injured or not there anymore (Angle is injured and playing the GM role right now, who KNOWS what happened to Big Show, Booker is unfortunatly going to be stuck in midcard hell for awhile, and they downright REFUSE to push RVD to that height for some weird and odd reason). Having Sting on the roster would REALLY help them out by giving them another main event-calibur star to work with. Plus, if he would end up on RAW, then, as I said before, the roster would then have TOO many top stars, and some would be buried under such a roster. You want them to fix the shallow SD roster, but then don't want someone there who can help fix the very same problem you want fix. Yeah, makes TOTAL sense to me </sarcasm> (sorry, but I've seen a common problem with some wrestling fans who want something done to fix something, but then complain when it IS done because it's not in the way they want it. Bugs me to HELL).

Actually, I feel the same way. Sting is such a good character and such a good guy and a consummate professional, that I'd feel like shit watching him come to the WWE just to have his character reduced to a laughing stock or to watch him job to Randy Orton and then disappear. He doesn't need the money, he always has and always will be a part of the good memories of the WCW, he has nothing to prove...basically, it would be great to see Sting in the WWE as a dark character, causing nightmares for the biggest heels in the company. And he wouldn't have to win all his matches, but he'd have to be booked as a real intimidating force; somebody to be feared. Hell, he's charismatic enough and the CrowSting was over enough that he probably could be on TV for weeks without saying a word and still get over.
But as has been mentioned, it won't happn. The WWE would sign him, have him come back, he'd be cool for a week or two, and then he'd be laying down for Orton or on Smackdown, dancing with Rikishi. He'd look like a fool and anyone who's really a fan of Sting and not just a fan of the WWE doesn't want that.
I do agree on your SD statements, though. UPN actually appears in more households than SpikeTV and the WWE would be smart to focus their attention on the product that could conceivably get them bigger ratings with more exposure.

I'm not a big fan of Sting, because I dont think they need another guy who is a part time worker. They need full time solutions, not little band-aids every 8 months or so.
However, for a one or two shot deal at a major PPv, sure why not? Sting-Taker would probably get people interested, maybe for Mania 21. But I dont see the point of trying to make him a regular character like they did with Goldberg. We've seen what happens, the WWE wont book him right, he wont do house shows, and he'll never reach the same level he had in WCW because this is the WWE dammit!
