Second year in a row wins a title but can't defend it at the next ppv. Surely it's now a case of needing to take time of and come back when truly 100% or call it a day and avoid further serious injury?

Sucks. Neville should be his replacement.

Didn't Edge annouce his retirement around the same time in 2011?

Love Daniel Bryan, but if all the stuff we're reading online is true, then yeah I totally agree.

I also find, most unpleasantly that I must agree. Amazing how in 4 or 5 years he's already achieved the Grand Slam (WHC, WWE, IC, US, Tag titles), and perhaps more amazingly that he's competed for or defended a title @ every WM from 27-31.

It would be a shame for his career to end up cut short now, especially when he seems like such a sure-fire multiple-time WWE World Champion, but this time I think it goes without saying that he needs to have a complete recovery to 100%, no rushing back early.

Yeah, he announced his retirement 8 days after beating Alberto Del Rio @ WM XXVII on the 4/11/2011 RAW.

He was able to defend it at Extreme Rulez last year (off topic)

He was? Yes you're right I forgot that but that was his only defence right? Point is these injuries are becoming too common and sadly for him and the fans too serious.
