Am I the only one who isn't a fan of these for the most part? It's like....if there was a scene or scenes that were good, wouldn't they make it in the final cut? Most of the extended or deleted scenes usually don't add anything to the film and I can see why they didn't make it past the editor.

I don't think I've seen very many.

I have seen the Lord of the Rings extended editions, which I feel are good.

I have seen the Donnie Darko director's cut which I thought sucked...

Oh yeah, and all changes made to the original Star Wars trilogy are terrible

Blade Runner was good

The thing that annoys me about them is when they're released a year or so after the initial DVD/Blu-Ray release.

I just saw today X-Men: Days of Future Past; The Rogue Cut.

Supposedly with about 40 minutes extra footage with Rogue returning? What the fuck? I wanna see it! But I don't wanna splash out and pay for it since I already have the DVD.

Does anythig interesting happen in the extra 40 minutes?

Cause I rewatched the movie recently and don't feel like watching it again now, only to see Anna Paquin staring at people like she's braindead.

More Ben Affleck as Daredevil and Jennifer Garner as Elektra?

Tron had one of the most bizarre deleted scenes I've ever seen.

I was hoping this was about Fantomas.

This reminds me that I still have yet to see Superman: The Donner Cut.

Like anything else, director editons, SE's, and anything else with extra footage and/or alternate scenes are a pretty cool concept, but taken advantage of by people looking to make another quick buck off of sales.

Like the whole 3D craze after AVTR... Cameron's film was *shot* in 3D, and seing that shit on an IMAX screen was in-fucking-credible. Then, everyone in Hollywood just started tacking that shit on if it made sense to do so or not, and you had a lot of shitshows looking to cash in (ironically, the *other* Avatar movie comes to mind.) The cool idea ends up just being a gimmick, and the few times it is implemented well ends up being the exception instead of the rule.

Superman 2: Donner Edition has some real good things in it, but also some stuff that makes things worse. Ideal cut would be a mix of the two versions, but we're not gonna get that obviously.

Given what happened with Fox and Josh Trank, I wouldn't mind watching the director's cut of Fantastic Four.

I wouldn't mind a directors cut of Superman IV: The Quest for Peace

Thought you said you saw it.

Whoops my bad, just worded it wrongly.

I meant I had seen the DVD in the shops.

There are times when the DC version majorly improves a film. Like the Abyss. The theatrical cut's ending makes no sense at all. And that was corrected in the director's cut.
