I forget if I asked this before, but I developed this theory tool in Javascript and just wanted to know if you would find something like this useful.

http://www.fretview.com/

It's basically a reverse scale finder. Helps me out when I write a random riff and I want to find what scale to keep it in.

Seems wonderful, but nothing is coming up for me on mobile.

Will definitely give this a look when I get home.

That's strange - should work on mobile.

Let me know what you think.

Got it to work on my PC last night. Made me realize I know nothing about scales and piss as I didn't "get it."

Maybe it would benefit from more explanation. It basically constructs the scale based on the root note and shape

e.g. A Major 0 2 4 5 7 9 11 = A, B, C♯, D, E, F♯, and G♯
vs A minor 0 2 3 5 7 8 10 = A, B, C, D, E, F, and G

Well that makes some sense

So on the A string, if you double click the A major scale, you'll see the 2nd string's 0, 2, 4, 7, 9, 11's frets selected. You will also see every other note on the guitar that belongs to that scale. If you play an A major chord, you can play any of the notes highlighted on the fretboard and they will sound mint
