Something like, a movie about some guy (or a bunch of people) who is a "loner" or "loser" and shit like that.

Like Taxi Driver, Punch-Drunk Love, Adaptation, Happiness, I DUNNO, stuff like that. You know what I'm saying?

Hook me up with some movies like that, or some depressing movies and shit. Got nothing to do tonight.

Love Liza, perhaps. It is one grim film, seriously.

I dunno. I saw Matchstick Men the other night, it was pretty good.

I can't think when you put me on the spot.

I saw Croupier this week too. Maybe that counts.

Or it could be those are the last 2 films I've watched.

Haha saw that too.

DON"T WORRY.

Gonna go chill at the video store now. My friend will list like 978258 movies for me anyway.

Suck my dick.

I watched Rob Roy on TV this week too. His wife gets the shit raped out of her.

Tim Roth is the man.

You've seen Amores Perros too, haven't you. Everyone in that film ends up having terribly shitty things happen to them.

Yeah that movie is great. Got the DVD.

I am gonna watch some French films tonight. 400 Blows and Breathless.

Look out for Carandiru anywhere you look out for things. I posted a thread about it a while back, it's just come out here. Sounds great.

Yeah, I was going to see that last Saturday. It's playing at only one theater in the entire New York City (and entire United States besides LA) area.

We got there late though so watched Super Size Me instead.

It's out in Dublin now, but it'll be a couple of weeks until I get down there to see it.

I'll probably see it the night before I see the Pixies.

Believe it or not, my favorite movie is Forrest Gump. Give that a try. He is considered to be a retard, but he is remarkable in his nature, and while he may be labeled a loner because he had no friends growing up, and was teased and made fun of, he was a person whose heart was always in the right place. There was only one girl who had ever shown him any type of affection, and being the simple guy he is, he fell in love with her, even though she was a trash bag ho. I guess that is what makes him "stupid", by not having the street smarts that one would think you need to lead a normal life.

You should download Les Invasions barbares or "The Barbarian Invasions." You probably heard of it seeing as it won an oscar for best foreign language film. Not really character study... but more of a character piece. I thought it shoud have won best screenplay.

Adrien Brody plays a pretty serious loser in Dummy and Milla Jovovich is a pretty serious loner in the same movie

Try Willard. That guy is a real loser.

Memento, Definently a good movie and the guy is bad ass in it.

What Would Kevin Do?
05-23-2004, 02:11 AM
Donnie Darko
Fight Club
Brother (for "Beat" Takeshi's character)
One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest
American Beauty
Lost in Translation
Seventh Seal
The Man who Wasn't there

Not a great, but they have decent characters who are loners, ESPECIALLY The Man who Wasn't There.

I had to download it from Suprnova... so I kinda assumed that it would be on Kazaa or whatever.

400 Blows and Breathless are both great films of the French New Wave. Definitely worth checking out.

I had to write a paper on Breathless actually.

I was surprised, but "Swimming Pool" is actually a pretty good character study. I expected it to be all T&A (Ludivine Sagnier), but Charlotte Rampling's character has some really nice nuance. Yet another good "story about someone struggling to write a story" movie.
