Prob'ly the short the show was inspired on... which, had I seen *that* bullshit first, I would have unfortunately passed on watching such a gem of a show.

It's like basing the cultural phenomenon that was Beavis & Butt-Head in the 90's on that one stupid-ass Liquid Television short: who knew?

And if you're going to base watching it on any 30 second clip, you should base it on the Simpsons couch gag crossover.

People make immediate comparisons to Back to the Future, but it actually has a lot more in common with Sliders or Stargate, just with the protagonists comedically playing fast and loose with the multiverse theory. Also, with the way it is written, this show fills that hole inside of me jonsing for more Venture Bros.

Look, they set a pretty high bar. They'll miss the mark occasionally. That episode was one of those occasions. It felt like the equivalent of Naruto filler, or one of the MST3K movies that didn't quite fire on all cylinders. The show is good, but not an episode you point to and say "OH, SHIT, YOU GOTTA SEE THIS! WUBBA LUBBA DUB DUB, BITCHES!"

plus the whole charm of this particular episode is that it's fucking stupid. Because it's all Justin Roiland improvising a bunch of crap and them creating the animation to create the t.v. Definitely not the best one but I enjoyed it.

The burping fucked with me super hard when I started watching the show, but you actually get used to it and it's moreorless white noise after a while. And yeah as previously said, he's constantly fucking shitcanned.

The burping didn't bother me so much... that and the constang stammering by both of the titular characters is a conversational idiosyncrasy I can look past, kinda like regional accents.

What bothered me initially is Rick's drool. I initially thought he had a soul patch that kept disappearing and reappearing, as it is exactly the same color as his hair, and thought it was unnecessarily bad animation.
