He will be on next week's edition of Monday Night RAW to accept Cena's U.S. open challenge.

This begs the question of whether the TNA title is more important than the WWECW title was.

I say no.

I'm going to predict that the months long single elimination tournament to crown a new champion ends up as a triple threat match between EC3, Matt Hardy and Drew Galloway. Then somehow Jeff Hardy wins it.

Poorly run, yeah. Horrendously booked, I don't know. They've had plenty of times I've seen where the writing actually seems like people were coming up with ideas and putting effort in. That's something.

TNA has a really bad problem of rarely thinking things through whenever they come up with storylines or plans. Its a big reason why they have soo many LOLTNA moments and momentum squashes happening when the majority could have easily been avoided.

They wanted to send the crowd "home happy" with BFG since it was in North Carolina but forgot about the aftermath and having nothing planned for the next few weeks. They gave Matt the belt knowing full well it was going to mess up the pool of matches they taped a while ago but didn't care.

This weeks episode wasn't bad. They got a Mathews and Pope in front of a green screen and the World Title Series could be pretty good. 8 groups of 4 go round robin and the top 2 from each group advance to a 16 person single elimination bracket. There is a group of Knockouts so Kong could win the World title.

Wait, what? There's a group of knockouts in the world title tournament?

Yeup was part of their special announcement regarding the title's status and probably not having enough guys needed to do the tournament size they wanted.

Kong should so win the title. Why the fuck not at this point. It'd be positive publicity at the very least.

But at least they re-signed Bram as one of the 12!

Also, Matt soooo wanted to say "best for business", but had to dance around it since WWE made it a catchphrase.

Someone should have that as a gimmick: a literal paper champion. Makes his own belt out of posterboard and Sharpie.

It would be of "historical significance", but since they're a sinking ship, it would actually kinda hurt Kong. If only because they didn't really feel as if she was legit enough, but because of said publicity stunt. She could prob'ly be a legit HC, but the time for that was about when Chris Sabin was champ. Doing it now would just smack of desperation for attention.

Probably their entire company. No channel, whether it be DA or any other channel is going to broadcast a wrestling company's shows when they're already barely keeping their heads above water and topping it off with nonsense like that.

If TNA really doesn't want to live to see it's 14th birthday, fine. Fuck 'em.

Would Kong being champ really be the thing that makes networks not take them seriously though? Really? I tend to agree that at this point, the positive would outweigh the negative.

Besides, vagina or not, she'd be less of a joke as champion than Chris Sabin was. Much more appealing to networks.

So what's the actual reason for this?

Best I can work out because Destination America is dropping them, they're cutting costs and production on TV so they're just using a ton of matches they taped a few months ago to fill out their TV time. And since they don't have any footage of Matt Hardy as Champ, he drops it and they edit all these matches together to look like a tournament?

It's official they don't want him? Why?

From reading dirt sheets and listening to the Wrestling Observer podcast, the stance is basically that Vince doesn't want to take the chance of a US Olympic Gold Medalist being paralysed in the ring or dying whilst under contract with the company.

Before he signed his last contract with TNA, he absolutely whored himself out to the WWE asking for a part-time deal and working a few matches. Story goes, so as to not appear completely dismissive, WWE offered him a full-time deal, knowing fine well he would turn it down.
