So, I keep hearing on the radio about all the fear and concern over the saftey of the Greece olympics.
US is spending multi-millions on security and encourging athletes not to waive the american flag.
I heard that Australlia is keeping 747's on standby so they can get their athletes out at any time.
So, who thinks there will be a terrorist act, and who thinks there wont?
Also, what actions are your country taking to keep their athletes safe?
No actions from Ireland as far as I know. And hopefully security is tight enough to avoid a terrorist attack.

I think they will be pretty secure. I assume they will find a bomb or something, but I think they will have enough security so that no athletes are killed and anything is found before it goes off.
Unless Al-Quada is involved, I don't think the average terrorist f</>uckers are going to break through security.

i don't think anything will happen, it would be easier for people to just pick another target if they were so inclined.

honestly, I can't remember off hand, I know they just caught him about a year ago, cause he was on the run for that and some other bombings, abortion clinics, I don't recall what else.
I think a lot of people think greace is less secure because of location.
If they're going to hit, it wont be there, it will be somewhere else at the same time.

I don't think there is much to worry about. The terrorists would have a hard time pulling off something when everyone is expecting it. Granted, Greece is probably on a list of soft targets usually, it won't be during the Olympics. The next strike will probably be when we are not looking. Anyways, it would make a splash, see "One Day in September" (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0230591/) But, I think it'll be secure.

There was and still is, to a minor degree, talk of the US pulling out of these Olympics. That would be a bad move IMO.

I've heard "speculation" from X-olympians, but nothing reliable on this being a real possibility. That being said, anything is possible.
It's interesting it seems the concern (not just from the US) isn't Athens dealing w/ Al-Queda of the like, but local Greek groups that have carried out recent bombings.
