Breaking: WWE Main-Eventer to undergo neck surgery, out of action

The situation with Randy Orton's injuries are far worse than expected, as he will need neck surgery once he recovers from shoulder surgery, which was to keep him out of action until after WrestleMania 32. It's possible that the damage to Orton's neck is worse than they think, which would require neck fusion surgery, but that's not expected right now.

It looks like Orton will be out an additional 6 months after having the neck surgery, which won't take place until doctors feel like he's recovered good enough from shoulder surgery.

Now they are freaking out due to there being no Cena, no Orton, and no Rollins (one of the few new stars they made). Also, no Cesaro (not as big a loss to them, outside of being a capable hand to feed to people.).

It could be great, but they've stop-started Ambrose so many times I'm finding it hard to care about him. He's a good talker, but he never really says anything that resonates, so I no longer look forward to hearing him talk. Owens interests me whenever he grabs the mic, but he's another guy that just flops around and wins and loses as much as the other.

I don't know who to bet on if I'm a new fan watching. As I heard MSL say on Kevin Sullivan's show last week -- how are people meant to care about their heroes if they see them get beat every week?

His injuries are mounting up, he's made a lot of money already, he's asked for a reduced schedule, he just got married, they haven't really done much of anything with him since he was WWE World Champ last (and that run was maligned by poor character development). It really wouldn't surprise me to see Orton at least dial it back to special attraction status.

<font color=goldenrod>I'm thinking this will be the case, too. Supposedly he'd already signed a revised limited-schedule contract last year, which allowed him to take 3 months off. Part of that time off was used to film a movie, but the rest he just healed up nagging injuries.

An annual leave for Orton would do good I think, ditto for the leave Cena is currently on. If WWE are ever going to make new stars they're going to need to get used to the Cenas and Ortons not always being around.

If they could quit it with the terrible stop-start booking of the current talent, that would be good too.</font>

There is still a great of potential on the roster provided they let the talent do their thing and let the fan show them where they need to go.
