How was the Test/Steph angle SUPPOSED to end? The story almost made Test. The way it ended killed his character.

This one isn't actually Russo's fault. He was gone nearly 2 months by the time the storyline hit its climax. Basically, Test was a Russo guy, and Vince didn't see him as top guy, so HHH got all the heat and Test jobbed on Sunday Night Heat a few weeks later before the Armeggedon PPV rather than be involved in the storyline that he was a focal point of. I'm sure that in Russo world, a Test heel turn was imminent, followed by a feud with Vince. Think Test and Stephanie as the heel power couple.

I remember hearing a story that said Test would try get with Linda instead of Steph near the end of storyline

When you think about it really though, for that being such a significant story arc it really is incredible how little Test got over as a result of all of it

Test was useless as hell, as far as I'm concerned the real unsolved mystery is why he was put in a McMahon angle to begin with.

I really didn't watch to much of anything Russo did when I was younger. Watched WCW when he was in WWF and by the time he got to WCW we were watching more of WWF. I will say that the S.E.X thing in TNA was stupid, him booking himself on TV and winning the title was stupid. He's creative but some of his ideas are just weird and strange.

That's true, but recent history with Reigns suggests they're willing to be bullish on below-average talents

They wouldn't be insisting on Reigns as the top guy if there was an Austin and a Rock ripping shit up.
I also don't understand why Test got as many pushes as he did. After the Stephanie thing he was prominently featured with Albert & Trish. He was prominent through a lot of the Invasion, from being the suspected mole to winning the immunity battle royal after a highly placed title unification match. Then he got paired with Stacy in that interminable BS angle that eventually involved Scott Steiner. All of this was at least moderately featured on the show despite the fact that he was frequently the least interesting thing in the angle (and FFS I HATE Big Poppa Poop.) This is getting off topic but I think we maybe want to find out who he had compromising photos of.

I thought Test was a good midcarder. stacy and Test were dating in real life so they just put that on screen.

Not quite to Marc Mero & Sable standards though..... I always liked Test.....A solid midcard guy that never got given the ball or took the ball and ran....

Not really an actual Russo thing and more of a TNA thing but tied to Russo.
The mystery of why TNA would hire Russo one last time knowing full well at the time Spike TV hated him and would punish TNA if they ever found out.
Still trying to figure out the logic of that especially when it happened during the time TNA was trying to secure a future for Impact.

I felt the same.
He did have a good line going into a King of the Ring one time: "The Next Big Thing is gonna get the Next Big Boot."
His boot looked good, up there with Harper's. His top rope elbow was solid, as well. I think, had he not had issues and was still around, he would be a Main Eventer today. Take that for what you will.

Why did he think Jeff Jarrett was worth a fuck?

Goldust was originally behind GTV (Goldust TV), he left the company before it was revealed

Ok, I know the "Almighty Meltzer" claimed Spike hated Russo, but has Spike ever put out some kinda official press release saying that Russo was the reason they dropped Impact?

That seems like something you wouldn't want to actually reveal for PR reasons. Same for why Destination America never sent an official statement when Dixie was trashing them in emails.
Was actually PWI that reported about it and only reason Spike knew about it was because they read the dirtsheets.

Why did he think Jeff Jarrett was worth a fuck?
1. The next night, on RAW, it was not directly stated, but subtly implied, that Big Bossman raised the briefcase during the match. He went through a short angle where he left the Corporate Ministry--the stipulations for the match stating that the faction would not interfere on behalf of Vince and Shane--, and the next night he gleefully rejoined forces with the faction.
2. To be fair, they finally figured out how to get Jarrett over in the summer of '99, and he was a top 3 heel at the time. He was on fire from July - October when he left. Unfortunately, he realized that he was never going to rise above where he was because Austin would never work with him and HHH was getting the rocket push, and he took WCW $$ with a better career opportunity offered by Russo.
I want to thank everybody for the contributions, we got to read many of them on the show, which is now available at the following link:
