Do all wrestlers who win a belt get to keep it? I've seen pictures of wrestlers' houses and often times they have a belt mounted over the fireplace or something. I just watched cribs and Chyna had the IC Belt Framed.
So, do they all get to keep the belts they win?
If so, the belts aren't real gold are they? Because if they were, they'd be expensive, especially if every champ gets to keep it.
Or, do they have to pay to keep it?

They probably just get a replica as a souvenier or something. They're probably the £250 ones I've seen in catalogues. Not sure though.

They dont get to keep the original but you can easily buy a good replica in the U.S for about $200. My brother has a replica United States Heavyweight Title but because he was young he didnt feel like mounting it or anything so instead we had matches against each other for it.
Yeah, they get replicas and the original belt stays on TV I believe... Except when they need a "stunt double" for it... IE: The Rock/Austin river angle...

I'm pretty sure when you win the title, you have to front up alot money for a deposit as "insurance" as well. Probably to make sure the wrestlers don't lose the title when they're carrying it around or something. >_>

That was true with the NWA Title.

Yeah, I heard Ric Flair talking about that on the Monday Night Wars DVD, i'd assumed that was true for all other wrestling titles. :-\

I remember on smackdown when heyman was gm he had like little background stand things with apic of big show and a wwe title with big shows name on it and the same for lesnar. I assumed there was only one version of that belt but apparently not.

Yeah with the NWA title Flair had to pay $25,000 deposit on it, when he was going to the WWF he was asked to return it, he said 'sure, once you give me my $25,000' they said forget it, then he showed up on WWF tv with the NWA title.
As far as what they have in the their houses, i'd think they have a better version that just the replicas, they've got these new ones that are dulexe replicas, but i would still asume that they can get ones that are realy leather and stuff rather that the ones you can just buy in shopzone

I'd always assumed it is the same for all titles: they give a deposit as security, and if they want to keep the belt, they just have to 'eat' the amount. So maybe for some, its worth more in prestige to give up the money and keep the belt.
Also, for Rhyno, when the company went under, maybe ECW just neve asked for the belt back. :shifty:
On an interesting note, when Ted DiBiase had the Million Dollar Belt (which was actually worth a lot of money for real - about half a mil, give or take), he needed to carry some special forms on him to allow him to fly the thing around the country. I wonder what the deposit on that thing was...

I think Mick foley has the real hardcore belt. He also has the WWE championship above his fire place, Don't know if its real though.

I already know that, im just saying the ones on smackdown didn;t appear to be the smaller replica versions you could buy, they appeared to be scale duplicates of the original, dunno if you can even buy versions that are the same size. Far as i know all the replicas are slightly smaller.

Considering they work for WWE, I'm sure the wrestler could just ask Vince who makes the WWE belts, go there, and pay to have one made. Same could probably be said for every other company.

http://www.replicawrestlingbelts.com has exact size replicas.
I personally have a collection of WWE miniature (wrist size) belts. I'm working on losing weight so that I can wear them around my waist. :shifty:

Rey and Billy and Rhyno could have the real belts.
Those belts are out of use now, so they could have been given them. Same with Mick (he was given the HC belt on RAW one week a while back).
Wrestlers don't make deposits anymore. If they want a title as a souviner, they have to purchase themselves, as the 'originals' stay property of WWE. They can however, keep their nameplates from the belts.

Stimulated Leather:
- WWF Attitude title (stiff as hell :( )
- WWF Winged Eagle (with new improved stimulated leather, very nice and flexable)
- WCW Title (An ok strap)
Deluxe
- WWF European (with one of the best straps i have, main reason I love the belt so much)
- WWE Title (see above)
- WWF Intercontinental (a little stiff, but its still good)
How big is the World Heavyweight Championship/WCW Championship? Cause it looks like a big bastard on TV, and a heavy one at that...

Is the WWF Intercontinental the old school block one? and are the deluxe ones as flimsy as the real ones look on tv?

Unfortunatley not, I'm thinking of getting it though, it would look nice next to the old school WWF title :D The one I have to the one before it went away, this one:
http://www.highspots.com/www/stores_app/images/images_125/belt_wwe_ic.gif
But with WWF logo
You can now get the old school IC with a white strap:
http://www.highspots.com/www/stores_app/images/images_125/belts_ic_white.jpg
Yellow:
http://www.highspots.com/www/stores_app/images/images_125/belts_ic_yellow.jpg
And black strap, which I'd probably get :y:
http://www.highspots.com/www/stores_app/images/images_125/belt_wc_ic_1.gif
Some of the deluxe ones are very flimsy, my European one as extremly flimsy, its got a good strap. But the deluxe ones can be quite stiff, but i dont think they are now, seeing as they have 'improved' them.
