...Vince saying that he felt a "hallelujah" coming on last night?
A very small thing, but it suggests to me (based on the early promos) that New Day were supposed to be a gospel stereotypically racist choir type deal.
Strangely though, it suggests to me that he still thinks that is what they are. Yeah, they retain some qualities but there is no hallelujah and they have clearly gotten over in spite of that gimmick by doing their own thing with it and getting over by being fun and having a good time without sticking rigidly to what they were given. Surely Vince, watching his own show, would have realised that they have moved away from that?
There was also a segment backstage where Stephanie was going to bring up the dance and I just got the impression that Vince had no idea what New Day did.
Like I say, it was a very small thing, but it just made me think about Vince's perception and how he maybe doesn't even realise that New Day got over in spite of the gimmick they were dealt.
He might just think that they are an incredibly popular, quasi-racist gospel choir who wrestle.

Their theme music is the same as when they started, he bumps it everyday on the way to work

All gimmicks evolve.
They were supposed to be over the top preachers. If they caught on as babyfaces, they would have worked likely as an opening card type act (think Too Cool). The fans turned on them, so they did the same gimmick, but as heels. Which has worked and now they are owning the characters and making it their own which is turning them babyface.

I like them a lot. All three different cuts of cloth who don't step on each other and seem like they want their whole unit to succeed while crapping on the competition

Love New Day but feel like Vince is in the back not getting it.

The disconnect comes because you believe it was by design. This is not an evolution, its a departure and a make-the-most-of what they have been given case. No point going round in circles arguing about it. You believe this was by design and that's OK.
I saw an old man last night who didn't seem sure what was going on and didn't seem up to date on what exactly talent were doing. I could be wrong obviously, but I found it interesting

Yeah I'm sure this has nothing to do with confirmation bias vis a vis someone desperately wanting to beleive Vince is some dottering old fool. One moment he's obsessively micromanaging the product, the next he has no idea what's going on on the show. Give it up.

Dunno why you always feel the need to write in such a condescending way. It was something I noticed and thought was interesting. I do think that it is a sign that things are passing him by and he is not as clued in as he once was. At the end of the day, forums are for that, posting thoughts, ideas or opinions about wrestling.
Contribution or opinion would be more helpful ;)
