The Bret vs Shawn DVD should clinch this for anyone. That interview was basically Shawn's "ok I'll take my spanking like a big boy" and Bret's "let me tell you why I was right." Hell they even gave Bret screen time on the Kliq DVD to stroke his hate-boner.

I'm legitimately surprised that people take what Bret says to heart (Pun only semi intended). He's essentially just cutting promos and it's funny. He's a curmudgeon that same as a lot of the old boys (see: Paul Orndorff)
