Raw actually didn't bore me for the 1st time in forever.
Great RAW
felt like a post-WM RAW, awesome kick off to the road to WrestleMania 32
Also, the Rock is amazing and Rock's entire segment was the most entertaining 30 minutes they have had in ages.

Felt like the whole show was "redundant" in retrospect..... in the sense that they kept talking the whole night about people wanting to impress The Authority, and how The Authority was paying attention to these matches ....
But then in the end they give the opportunity to the two guys they hate most, and a dude who wasn't there.
Kind of wish it was still the Elimination Chamber just for this year.... Just to make it "seem" at least like they were, in fact, giving a wider amount of people "a chance"....

I'll only say this: I personally am convinced that it is some version of Ain't No Sunshine, just not the version I posted. Maybe WWE did their own edit version or had DMX and/or CFO$ help them create a WWE Edit for them. I honestly don't know, and just because I'm convinced doesn't mean I'm right. I'm done searching for the needle in the haystack and will just wait to see if/when they ever show the name and artist of his theme, and if I'm wrong, so be it, egg on my face I guess.
Anyway, I thought it was a great show tonight. Would give it ✮✮✮✮/✮✮✮✮✮.
It might be. I mean, Samoa Joe's theme sounds suspiciously like Pharaohe Monch's "Simon Says" instrumental. Might be a decent amount of late 90's Hip Hop in the CFO$ catalog.
I'd kinda mark out for a decent "cover" of MOBB DEEP - "Hell On Earth", or just about anything from Fugees' "The Score" album (except maybe "Killing Me Softly"). And have Los Matadores come back sans bullfighter gimmick entering with something like "100%" or "Se Acabo" would be hype as hell, and I'm not even Puerto Rican.

Joe's TNA theme was a ripoff of the original Godzilla theme. Joe's ROH theme used the original Godzilla theme as the intro. Simon Says samples the original Godzilla theme. WWE/CFO$ used a similar horn/trumpet/brass instrument for Joe's theme. Nothing to do with 90's hip hop.

I know all that. But it does sound close, and I don't mean the intro. I mean in the same way Nunzio's Jim Johnson cooked up theme sounded an awful lot like "No Sleep Til Brooklyn", or how Tommy Dreamer's previous theme was *close enough* to "Man In The Box". It wasn't spot on, or note for note, but you could see what was being hinted at and it didn't sound like total generic ass.
Also, don't crush my dream of hearing better fucking themes... I mean, there seems to be a huge step-up in quality post Finn Balor (and to me, even that sounds like a nod to a particular U2 song that appeared in a particular movie soundtrack about a particular comic book character who particularly Batman... dammit!) There may just be some 90's Hip Hop inspired sounds somewhere. You never know.
So, as for AJ's theme, it sounds *close enough* to "Ain't No Sunshine", and whoever is rapping sounds like they're attempting some DMX karaoke imitation with their delivery. Basically, as close as you can get to a DMX song without editing out 800 instances of him saying nigga, or actually having to pay DMX what would essentially become bail money.

Is AJ injured? I remember hearing around WK10 that he had a few niggles and he doesn't look like he's walking right. Might just be saving his arsenal too, which would be a smart thing, but he doesn't seem to be moving as smooth as he was last year.

A suck ass raw
20 minute snoozefest after vince said "shut up"
Kevin owens is the only thing in this show worth a fuck
Aj styles guy I dont get the hype. Has too southern of a voice to succeed in wwe climate. And jericho vs him would have been a big deal in 2006,not tonight. And why can't the vanilla midget lift one guy up for his finisher?
Even the rock.....the schtick is getting old. Hes not as on as he used to be. We're in miami, were live" was said about 20 times
Flo rida and the jobbers was a snooze
Women match was typical,in that it sucked
Bray being wasted, again
And another poster really nailed it "the authority is going to watch the matches tonight and decide which performances impress them the most for the next ppv we have to plug even though all the matches for mania are already determined. And then they give it to a guy who wasnt at the show performing.
All in all they have the top title on a guy for the sole purpose of giving it back to a guy who isnt over in two months. Villano number 5 May as well be champion right now.

Damn good Raw from top to bottom. If they can produce this product on a weekly basis, WrestleMania is looking good.
Really hoping they don't "dumb down" Styles. Pulling off the Pele kick was a nice to see, but we all wanna see him hit the Styles Clash. Crowd was going bananas when he was about to hit that.
Side note: Kudos to The Rock for "going off script" and chatting with the Legends. Macho Man totally blew it when he had the mic., and he had the crowd in his palm of his hand the whole night.
I'm am curious to see if WWE has any rules about dressing up and let's say "cause trouble". Pretty sure 1st amendment is in play.

I'm am curious to see if WWE has any rules about dressing up and let's say "cause trouble". Pretty sure 1st amendment is in play.
They have had people take off "costumes" before for being too distracting, yes. They gave the guys t-shirts as a bribe.
http://img.bleacherreport.net/img/images/photos/003/324/592/3924e2049ce29e5501cc83cbc71c3b8f_crop_north.jpg?w=630&h=420&q=75
The group was told the outfits were “too distracting,” without any further explanation, Laufer said.
“It sounds cliche and corny, but I’m not mad. I’m disappointed. We all are,” Laufer said. “You have to swallow your pride to do so, but we really enjoy going to WWE shows in our ridiculous outfits.”
Laufer, who describes himself and his group of friends as college-educated professionals ranging in age from 28 to 40, insists the group wasn’t acting rowdy or trying to bring undue attention their way. They were simply trying to have a good time.
Laufer’s friend Matt Sheridan, who came to the event dressed as Macho Man, agrees. In a letter he penned to WWE and later posted to the social media Web site Reddit (http://www.reddit.com/r/SquaredCircle/comments/2zazee/wwe_makes_fans_take_off_costumes_dressed_as/cphp6wc), where it was upvoted more than 1,500 times, he said, “I assure you none of the members of our party were being in any way unruly or belligerent. You can watch the taping and see for yourself. We were merely watching the show.”
After being asked to change, the group was given free T-shirts promoting current WWE superstars, including John Cena and the Usos, characters beloved by small children.
“A 2XL Uso shirt might not have been my first choice,” Laufer told The Washington Post in a phone call, adding that he won’t complain too much because the T-shirts were free.
What wasn’t free, though, as both Laufer and Sheridan reminded, were the tickets. They say the group paid more than $1,000 total for their seats and shelled out additional cash to purchase official WWE-sanctioned gear that some used as part of their costumes they were forced to remove.
WWE offered an apology on Tuesday to Sheridan and two other members of the group who independently wrote to the WWE. The wording of each apology was the same, according to Laufer, offering the group of 10 a total of nine free tickets to an upcoming show.
Laufer is happy WWE replied, but insists that he and his group were not seeking remuneration, but an explanation, which they still haven’t received.
“We are some of WWE’s biggest advocates and we felt like we were unceremoniously kicked to the curb with no legitimate reason given,” he said, adding that he still plans to watch WrestleMania when it airs later this month.
Sheridan also said he will remain a WWE fan despite his disappointment in what happened Monday night.
“I guess at the end of the day, all I am looking for is an explanation as to why you would boot fans who spend the time, energy and money on advocating your product. Seems like just the kind of people you would want in your corner,” Sheridan wrote in his letter, adding, “For the record, I am still in your corner, however disappointed I may be.”
The Washington Post reached out to WWE for further explanation. The company declined to comment. A WWE spokesman only confirmed the promotion “apologized to the fans for the inconvenience.” He offered them complimentary tickets to an upcoming show.
Seems really dumb they do this...no one is going to confuse fans in a costume, excited to see the wwe and passionate about it, for any of the current day superstars they have poorly pushed.

Don't really understand the logic whatsoever behind The Authority giving Reigns, Ambrose, and Lesnar a title opportunity. Why would they give the 2 guys they hate and the biggest badass in the company a chance to win the title? What sense does that make...esp since it sounds like the whole point of the night was to impress The Authority, and Brock wasn't even there.</font>

Well, I have noticed an abnormally high number of people on any variation of the song you can think of on YT, "Is THIS the version?" "I'm here cuz AJ Styles!" ( the latter of which invariably gets like 85 million likes...), that's why I'm so sure. Willing to admit I'm wrong though, although his WP does also list his theme as "Ain't No Sunshine", but of course I take EVERYTHING on there, even if it's "E=mc2", with a huge grain o' salt.

If I remember from the sheets, supposedly its all due to WWE's production boss Kevin Dunn hating stuff like showing up on tv even if the fans are not doing anything. Same reason why there is usually countless reports of signs getting taken away from fans since he doesn't want them on camera unless management approved it.
Only time the rules get relaxed is the RAW After Mania shows because of how extra feisty the crowd is still from Mania.
<font color=goldenrod>I don't so much care when The Rock verbally jousts with people like Triple H or Cena because they're more or less portrayed to be at the "same level"...I just never really got the point of him running down midcarders. it's the casual fan's assumption (as well as every other kind of wrestling fan, promoter, writer, performer and so forth) that Rock is better and more important because he is more important and that's just how it is, not everybody can be on the same level. Rock has been doing his schtick forever, it's what people want to see him do. Do you expect him to do his "Rock act" with guys like Triple H, Cena and so on and then suddenly treat the midcarders like some kind of threat? He treats everybody the same, if somebody comes off looking worse than others, that isn't his problem, it's theirs.
That said, pointing that out in itself is daft because it's not even a problem. Working with The Rock is bulletproof, interacting with The Rock and being called silly names and taking a Rock Bottom does literally no damage to anybody. If anything, it's quite the opposite, they're interacting with one of the biggest stars in the history of the business, it entertains (nearly) everybody and is forgotten about a week later. Go and ask Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods and Rusev whether they'd rather have had the chance to be on TV with him or not, I think you know what the answer will be. Not to mention it's something to aspire to for nearly every guy in the locker room. You think most of those guys didn't watch that entire segment and were like "fuck me, I need to be in that position one day"? Not everything in pro wrestling is about making absolute perfect sense and having it all slot neatly together in an HBO drama kind of way. For the most part, it just needs to be entertaining and for the crowd to make some noise. That's what they're trying to accomplish.

When Rock does these one offs, I've read that he basically picks who to work with which is where Rusev and New Day have come into it. He also said he wanted to take the title off Punk for the WM match against Cena which is why they had the 2 matches because Rock thought it would be a great program (and he was right).

For the most part, it just needs to be entertaining and for the crowd to make some noise. That's what they're trying to accomplish.
<font color=goldenrod>I guess. I mean yeah I can see it always makes the crowd pop and I'm sure the boys love to be involved with it, maybe I've just "outgrown" it to a degree, partly because it comes at the expense of the current roster but also just because I've seen it so many times. I was ecstatic when The Rock came back in early 2011 but since he's come back multiple times a year again for me it's just been like "okay then..."
I did go ahead and watch last night's segment and I can concede that yes, that was the best one The Rock's done in a while (imo). I didn't really think the Lana slut shaming bit was necessary but beyond that he didn't big time anybody and it worked because The New Day are meant to be goofballs anyway and you could tell Rock thought they were genuinely hilarious (which they are). Way better than the one he did with Rusev in 2014, that one just made me cringe.</font>

It's the road to wrestlemania. It's not time for fun and games and fucking around.
You've got WWE and 99.999999999999% of fans against you there. Everybody enjoyed his banter with Cena, calling him a fruity pebble, and coining the term "BootsToAsses", and I believe I remember him calling Cena a Kung Pao bitch, too. But Cena retorted right back, and they had a freaking amazing Match @ WM XXVIII. I'll grant maybe not as much at WM NY/NJ (29), but that's because there was pretty much 0 build to it.
I mean, just because it's not present in the logo doesn't mean the 'E' isn't there. Yeah, it's wrestling, the second 'W', but it's also entertainment. And if we lose sight of that, then we may as well just say "#ShutItDown" (apologies to Frankky D) and quit watching the product altogether.
