Smackdown spoilers for 4/14/16

Dark Segment:
* Parking lot promo by Owen White to a crowd of nobody since they were late getting to the arena. White rambled again about people not believing in the Movement's cause needs to be dealt with. Rest of the Owen Family attacked Owen O'Neil with White banishing him from the group for accepting The Man's reinstatement. White placed a Driving For Dummies book on O'Neil's body since he was horrible as the driver of the Family's van.


Smackdown:
* SmackDown opens with WWE Intercontinental Champion The Miz and Maryse out for MizTV. The got really good heat to start. Zack Ryder interrupts and The Miz teased that he would give Ryder a title shot but Ryder's already booked in a match with Baron Corbin

* Baron Corbin got the easy win over Zack Ryder. After the match, Corbin beat Ryder down again but Dolph Ziggler made the save and they brawled

* Emma defeated Paige in a quick match

* Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady defeated The Ascension to advance in the tag team tournament

* AJ Styles defeated Alberto Del Rio

* Backstage comedy segment with Fandango and The Golden Truth

* The Vaudevillains defeated Goldust and R-Truth in a quick match to advance in the tag team tournament

* Sami Zayn vs. Chris Jericho was a hot main event with Dean Ambrose and Kevin Owens on commentary, and providing distractions. Good action in the ring and entertaining stuff outside. Owens interfered to cause the disqualification, which led to the babyfaces standing tall to end SmackDown

I'll start watching SD! again for the Enzo and Cass emergence

According to fan reports, AJ Styles came really close to becoming the newest member of WWE's hottest stable, The Injured Guys.

Had a scary moment where he landed on his head from a botched move Del Rio did during their match.

AJ Styles may have suffered an injury during a match with Alberto Del Rio at Tuesday's WWE SmackDown tapings in San Diego, according to fans in attendance.

Del Rio reportedly botched a move and Styles landed on his head, then finished the match with a roll-up. Styles left up the ramp and was holding his neck to the side.

Emma winning a match against Paige seems like it would be a "huge deal" if Paige still had a defined character, or hadn't just recently lost randomly to Summer Rae as well.

Naomi, Tamina and Eva haven't really done much of anything. Those are 3 I think who could be let go. Summer could spend a little time down in NXT, honing her skills a bit more. And they've got to pull the trigger eventually on calling up Bayley, just don't know right now when a good time for that would be.

All the athletic ability in the world, but a giant suck hole in personality....Bayley for sure needs to be called up, but she needs to be the one to put an end to Charlotte's reign....have Sasha always manage to come up short in challenging leading up to Summerslam, then the night after Charlotte cut a promo stating that she's the best and beaten everybody there was, cue Bayley's music and have her goad charlotte into a title match right there a la Paige/A.J.....

The Vaudevillians are doomed. It's an indie gimmick. And I enjoy it . I wish Gotch was a bit bigger though as the "strongman"

I've never been overly big on The Vaudevillains gimmick. Fun for a bit in NXT, but I always thought they were stopping through the gimmick on their way to different things. I guess not. They'll be given some shine out the gate, and they'll perform well, but it's not going to connect. I actually think they might win this tournament and even take the belts off New Day to get them onto Enzo and Cass, but I can't see them being too hot after, say, SummerSlam.

The WWE have done a really great fucking job at making me not give a shit about Paige. Good for Emma though. I hope Becky vs. Emma actually happens at Payback.

I feel like Paige is partly responsible for that. She was the anti-diva and stood out because of her edgey personality. She was well on her way to having her own fans, because she was her own person and didn't compromise (like AJ)

Then all of a sudden she started up with the extra make-up and going OTT on the girly stuff and she has got lost in the shuffle I feel, because of that. Impossible to know how much pressure she was under to do so and be a part of total divas etc.... But I think she could have been in a much better situation now with the change of focus if she had been brave and stuck it out as rebel Paige.

Also, Naomi in one of my favourites, think she is underrated in the ring and comes up with some really cool, original stuff. The tag match at Mania was better than it had any rite to be and a large part of that was down to her.

I think it works in the sense that he's a 1920s "strongman" "street tough" type, not in a current strong man mould.

Paige can always snap back to being the Anti-Diva anytime she wants. The gimmick is recharging. One of my most desired signings is for Saraya to come into the WWE and wage a war sponsored by Stephanie McMahon against the bratty daughter that cost her months of her career.

Paige vs. Nattie would be fun too. Maybe after Natalya loses to Charlotte, Paige can sort of get on her case about it. Simple feud with good matches -- that'd help out the division big time.

Me too. I have no clue why they stopped that -- it's not like it was falling flat. English was working with guys like RVD and Sheamus, looking good and it seemed like he was being polished up as a top heel player. Simon Gotch has good energy, an interesting look and seems to really be piecing it all together in the ring, but neither guy really needs this team.

I could see them failing at the titles sometime in the near future, splitting and feuding, to be honest.
