So I know it is a little early, but I wanted to make a post about what I think the SummerSlam card should look like for this year. I thought I'd post my ideas and then see what anyone else thinks. So here is mine:
WWE Championship:
Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar
The Authority regains control of RAW after a brand split and continues to torment Reigns, ultimately bringing in Lesnar to neutralize him, setting the long overdue rematch from WM31.
World Heavyweight Championship:
Randy Orton vs. Seth Rollins
After the brand split, the new World Heavyweight championship is defended in a MITB Ladder match at the MITB PPV, which the returning babyface Seth Rollins wins. The next night, a heel Randy Orton returns and punts Rollins, seemingly putting him back on the shelf. Randy takes the title and pretends that it's his, until Seth returns the next week, setting up the match at SS.
John Cena vs. Samoa Joe
In an attempt to regain control and restore order, HHH brings up the NXT champion, Samoa Joe at MITB and introduces him as his new "Machine." While HHH is building him up, Dean Ambrose comes down and challenges him to an impromptu match, which sees Samoa Joe DESTROY him. This leads him on a Warpath every week, until good 'ol John Cena vows to put a stop to it and issues a challenge for SS.
AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor
Remember, this is all predicated on a brand split. AJ ends up on Smackdown with Anderson and Gallows, who continue to assist him with beating his opponents. In the weeks leading up to MITB, AJ gets fed up and tells them to back off and to forge their own path. During the championship ladder match at the PPV, Anderson & Gallows screw AJ and push him off a ladder through some tables. The next night on Raw they introduce Finn Balor as their leader, stating that AJ never had what it took to be a leader and that Balor has surpassed all of his accomplishments. A match is booked between the two at SS.
Women's Championship:
Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley
After the awesome WM match, Sasha and Becky both stake their claim for the title again for SS. The triple threat rematch is made, until Stephanie McMahon announces a fourth competitor in the match, Bayley. Video packages air chronicling the history of all four women in the weeks leading up to the match.
Intercontinental Championship:
Cesaro vs. Chris Jericho
This one is pretty standard. Cesaro beats the Miz for the title and begins defending it flawlessly, prompting Jericho to claim that his is the greatest IC champ of all time and that he wants to regain what is rightfully his.
Tag Team Championship:
The New Day vs. Enzo & Cass
Just imagine the promos leading up to this match. EXCELLENT.
