Another great match. Don't know if I'd put it above the womens or the tag match, though.
Really hope Joe gets the call up now.

Best thing on the show was probably Nakamura's live violin entrance, though

Another home run from NXT.
Jose vs Aries was a fun little opener. Right guy won, but I see dollar signs on Jose. His in ring stuff needs a little work, but he has that intangible it factor that stars are made of.
Ember Moon looks really good. Will make a great opponent for Asuka. Could even see her taking the belt. What's more, Billie Kay did a fine job as well. Havn't been impressed at all til now, but she showed some real potential.
Roode delivered on the hype both on his way to the ring and in the match. Cien deserves props too. That crowd was 100% pro roode at the start, but he did a great job of turning them to his side.
Tag match was motn. That's really all you can say. Really happy Revival won, so that we can see more from this feud. They're 1-1 now. DIY will win the rubber match I think.
Tag match may have been the best from a purely technical standpoint, but Asuka vs Bayley was my favorite. Because from start to finish this was just a straight. Up. Fucking. FIGHT. Just an absolute brawl, and given the build to the match, it was a perfect style choice. Bayley's selling and emotonal reactions were fucking world class in this. After that first kick I thought she was going to come up with a broken bloody nose, but nope. Just selling. And you could fucking feel the pain and determination on her face. She straight up has the chops to be the female cena on the main roster.
Joe vs Nakamura was a great match, but it was missing the viciousness that it should have had given the build. They started off good, with the intense back and forth, but the rest felt like a regular match, rather than two guys who have a seething hatred for each other.

2 more things
1. Billie Kay did a good job covering that powerbomb botch
2. Samoa Joe his performing better than he ever has his whole career. When I was a teenager in Buffalo, I was legit terrified of Taz. Even though I knew wrestling was scripted, I still believed he would rip me in two if I walked up to him, because everything about his character felt completely real. Later when I saw him getting pushed into a bunch of pudding by half naked women, I realized he was just really really good at his job.
And now Joe is too. He's played the badass his whole career, but that's what it's felt like. Playing the badass. But ever since he has turned heel on NXT, he has had the same aura of legit intimidation that Taz had all those years ago. Like, he has been genuinely scary, and has been so believable that it seems like he has legit heat with everyone he has worked with.
Not sure about the long term health effects of that top rope stunner that Ember Moon is using. It looks great but I am already afraid for her spine, especially if this is something she's been doing for years now.

Is it more obvious than years back, that the ref will go to both downed competitors, call the next spot to both, then back out and go? Maybe just me seeing it more than usual.

Crowd was "freaking amped" all night... Skimmed through the broadcast and the crowd seems good but also seems quieter / more calm than it was "irl"... very "raucous crowd"
Every1 was "chanting" Nakamura's theme outside the arena after the show... then later on on the subway, like 50% of the train started chanting his theme while a bunch of non-wrestling fan people were also on the train
NXT entrance themes are s000000 good... Bobby Roode... amazing theme / entrance... feels like the whole crowd was singing along to it... Nakamura... Asuka... really good job @ the themes being sweet as heck instead of some generic shit... Feel like Bobby Roode could be "big" on the main roster mainly due to his entrance theme
Tag match was s0000000 good...
Ember Moon seems really good also... "sick" finisher etc...
2 guys behind me kept trying to start a "fuck her up Bayley fuck her up" chant over and over but they were the only ones chanting... bunch of children sitting near them........
They kept switching diff people into the front row seats... Ric Flair came in halfway through the opening match and was distracting cause everyone started cheering... then he just left after he was "on the air"... then Foley came, then Sasha and Becky Lynch
Sweet show... Feels like SummerSlam should be good and "fun" even if it ends up being "not that good" due a lot to the atmosphere and crowd tbh...

* No Way Jose impressed me. This was my first time seeing him. He's got star potential. Austin Aries winning was the right call. Aries is a good dick heel.
* Ember Moon was cool. She spent a lot of time of defense against Billie Kay (who looks amazing). Nice finish, but I can't see her doing that every match. A good way to debut though.
* Bobby Roode's entrance is amazing. There's another main event heel. Cien impressed me. He can do things, but you just shouldn't put him against a guy like Bobby Roode.
* The tag team match was hands-down my favorite match on the night. These guys tore it the fuck up. Props to Brooklyn for actually booing the heels too. They were pretty good for that all night. Roode was the only guy they really switched the program on. But the tag match definitely rocked all kinds of world. Dash knows how to play his part as spoiler well. Dawson does most of the heavy lifting in that team and is underappreciated by the "smart" community. Felt genuinely sorry for Gargano & Ciampa.
* Was kind of underwhelmed by the second women's match. Bayley's story is epic, but it just never feels like she is on the same page with Asuka. The crowd was into it though.
* Nakamura has got so much charisma. That entrance gave me chills. Samoa Joe is one of the best performers in the industry today. Good switch here. I kind of felt like the match was off at times, but as far as their personalities go, I think it told the story it needed to. Weird criticism to make, because I really love the guy, but I kind of feel like Nakamura is boring when he is selling. No one believes anyone can storm over him at this point. He's regarded as one of the best. I dunno, it just feels forced when he is down and selling. Let him walk over his opponents more. Just an idea to further set him apart.

I could have never imagine Rood being so successful. That was just a fucking incredible entrance and he came of like total main event star. I knew the guy could work, but all it took was that WWE production behind him to make him look like Triple H's brother. Seriously reminds me of Triple H, always has, especially now.
Nakamarua's entrance was also fucking incredible. So proud of Brooklyn for popping for the violinist too, that was nice. Nakamaura is amazing, and is where he should be, he needs to be more well rounded speaking English to be a main star. I'm a little turned off on him after his promo with Joe last week on NXT.
Joe needs to attack Joe tonight or I will be disappointed.
The tag match was incfuckingcredible.

I was always so-so on Bobby Roode. That theme music/entrance he had did make him look like an old school superstar heel though. It gives him "pizazz" as opposed to seeming like just another generic heel who is interchangeable with all the others. Fucking loved it. He could be a credible main eventer if they were to book him right. Goddammit, I love NXT.

Roode, Joe, AJ and Orton would make an amazing main event scene on Smackdown. I'd love to see an even more special Roode entrance at Wrestlemania.

Aries/Jose - A-Double his typical self, the typical undersized cocky heel. Jose has got some potential, not often I'm a fan of the "over the top" face, but I like Jose.... A little polishing and he could easily be a mid-level face on the main roster
Ember/Billie - Billie is a good hand, needs to find a gimmick but very good. First time ever seeing Ember, needs to be a bit more "crazy" to justify her gimmick, but that can come with time. If I were Naomi, I'd be very concerned for my spot on the roster if Ember can talk at all.
Roode/Almas - Roode has been my favourite wrestler for quite some time and to be honest, has no business being in NXT. That same introduction and his entrance could have been used the next night at Summerslam versus *insert mid-level face here*. Almas doesn't seem to be connecting with the audience, if he could that figure out, he'd got a shot.
Revival/DIY - Not a huge fan of Revival tbh, but they can definitely go in the ring, that's for sure. They are growing on me. DIY were great, definitely teasing a Ciampa turn in the future, depending on what they do with the CWC, I could see both being sent to Raw if they do break up
Asuka/Bayley - Not quite as good as Bayley/Sasha last year, but better than their first match. I don't see anyone defeating Asuka for the title, let her keep it until she's "ready" for the main roster. Excellent swan song for Bayley, she's been ready for a quite awhile
Shinsuke/Joe - Shinsuke's entrance gave me goosebumps watching, I can only imagine how great it was live. In my perfect world, he would defeat Undertaker to break the still intact Streak at Mania this year, but alas that will not happen. Joe/Lesnar at Mania (or at least in the future) seems like a logical step, he can even hold his own versus Heyman on the mic for build-up as well.
