So anyway, I'm near the end of the story of Disgaea 5. Some thoughts...

The story is pretty meh overall but the gameplay is so good I'm definitely willing to overlook it. The one thing I can't really get over how in the span of like 1.5 chapters they're treating Majorita like some sympathetic character. NAH SON I just wanna slay that bitch mercilessly.

I could not at any point get into Killia's character at all, either. Definite Roman Reigns ish going on here. The voice actor sounds so thoroughly uninvested in anything he is saying. Maybe would be better if I listened to the Japanese audio with subtitles (if that's an option) or something. But whatever, Red Magnus is the best character ever and Sera has titties. Onto the post-game.

The new Dragon Ball Z fighting game shown at E3 could end up also having a Switch version made if there is high enough demand online according to the producer of the game. Right now its only being developed for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Also wouldn't arrive at a much later date than the other platforms if it does end up being made.

Switch version of Namco Museum was announced to be including Pac-Man Vs.

The multiplayer tinted Pac-Man Vs. is one of the most interesting games in the franchise's long history. It was actually developed by Nintendo EAD and headed up by Miyamoto himself, which is why you rarely see it hit other platforms (it's on DS and GameCube).

Well, given that the Namco Museum is coming to the Switch, Bandai Namco and Nintendo seemed to have worked something out -- Pac-Man Vs. will be a part of that collection when it arrives later this year, as revealed by Famitsu magazine.

Nintendo recently gave some new details regarding a couple of Splatoon 2's modes.
For one, the game will be getting a brand new competitive mode called "League Battle," which focuses on groups of two or four. Over a two hour period you'll be battling it out with other teams for points, and at the end a giant leaderboard will be posted. It's kind of like the Trials of Osiris mode in Destiny.

According to the team Salmon Run (the new co-op horde mode) is "intentionally" difficult, to appease folks who want to have more of a local experience this time around that expands beyond the campaign. There will be an online rendition of Salmon Run though, you just need to get level 4 online before you unlock it.

Super Mario Odyssey ended up winning the "Best of Show" award for this year's E3 event. This game and Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle took 5 overall awards from critic votes.
The former won the headline Best of Show award, as well as Best Console Game and Best Action/Adventure Game. Ubisoft's Rabbids crossover, meanwhile, took away Best Original Game and Best Strategy Game.

Speaking of Mario + Rabbids: Kingdom Battle, the special collector's edition of the game was revealed to be Gamestop exclusive.
The Collector's Edition of Kingdom Battle is a GameStop exclusive in the US. As pictured below, this consists of the game itself, a six-inch figurine of a Rabbid dressed as Mario, a set of collector's cards, and a soundtrack CD. All of this comes inside of a special collector's box.

This package goes for $100, making it a $40 premium over the standard package. It launches on August 29 alongside the base game

Bayonetta 1 & 2 rumored to be getting Switch ports based on teasing by Platinum Games recently.

What happened? Well Platinum put up this image on Twitter, which showcases the designs of Bayonetta in both the original and the sequel -- and then folks started to speculate that the red and blue hues used where to symbolize the neon blue and red JoyCon from the Switch. Given that Platinum has been port hungry lately and we know the Switch is up to the task hardware-wise, it's entirely possible.

The plot thickens as we look at this analysis from famed leaker Liam Robertson, who noticed that Platinum is liking tweets that specifically deal with folks who are asking if it's a Switch tease. It's not definitive by any means so treat this as a rumor, but again, it's something that would make a whole lot of sense.

Ubisoft announced a Switch version of Rayman Legends is arriving in September and has a few new things included.
Ubisoft has just revealed that Rayman Legends will release on Switch on September 12. It's called a "Definitive Edition" even though the game never had any paid DLC. Instead, it's a host of Switch-exclusive features that serve as the extras.

According to the "key features" section of the Rayman Legends listing on Ubisoft's site, the Switch version will have four-player wireless multiplayer. There's also the ability to use the touchscreen when the Switch is undocked; swiping is useful for killing enemies, cutting ropes, etc. It's also said that there's now a tournament mode for Kung Foot.

Resident Evil Revelations collection set arriving later this year for the Switch for $40.

Resident Evil: Revelations 1 and 2 have appeared on tons of consoles, especially the first, and now they headed to the Nintendo Switch in "late 2017" according to Capcom. They will release together as the Resident Evil: Revelations Collection for $39.99 in North America. The first will also release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on August 29 for $19.99 digitally.

This collection includes a physical cart for Revelations 1 and a voucher to download Revelations 2 digitally. Otherwise both can be digitally downloaded separately for $19.99 a piece. Outside of North America the games are digitally only.

They will play at 1920x1080 with an "improved framerate," improved environmental detail, and refined creature movement. All DLC is included and unlockable within the game. The Raid Map Ghost Ship will get a remix called Chaos with new enemy placements and more powerful weapons.

Based on recent sales data, Switch has sold almost 1 million more consoles during its first 6 months than the PS4 did during its first 6 months in Japan.

Making things interesting is the only 1 week of the PS4's first 6 months was higher than the Switch's first 6 months.

While Nintendo hopes to surpass the Wii U next year, in the meantime, we can see its momentum grow in Japan in spite of shortages.

Based on numbers from Mediacreate, the Switch has sold 1,527,962 units in 26 weeks, which can be directly compared to the now-dominate PS4 that sold 665,760 in that time. It's clear that a new system would come out of the gate swinging in its first week, but steadily the Switch has been selling at least 20,000 units since then, hitting roughly 70K in its 26th tracked week.

Suda 51 teased at the new No More Heroes game featuring multiplayer support.

In an interview with Polygon, Suda51 mentioned that the new No More Heroes will be playable with a single Joy-Con controller. When pressed about what the other Joy-Con would be doing, Suda responded with, "As far as what’s going to happen with the other Joy-Con, at this point technically it’s still a secret. I don't want to call it the "final sequence" as it feels the game is just getting started by the end credits, but the sequence leading up to that is one of the best in gaming.

From the best Bowser boss fight of all time, possessing Bowser was obviously going to happen, but the way it happens with the possession cutscene going through Mario and Bowsers history, to the 2D section where you play as fire breathing SMB1 Bowser to the very final section with this Sonic ass soundtrack playing

I'm almost willing to bet it's Nintendo's last hardware device. They're finally going to realize they can't cut the mustard anymore with hardware and will just sell games.

The major selling point/reason for the switch is the portability factor and its basically crippled for portable use. Makes absolutely ZERO sense. Plus I doubt many people are dying to lug around what amounts to a small tablet just so they can play Nintendo games.

And there is more money to be made selling games to the bazillion people with IPhones than there is the relatively small number of people (13 million for the Wii U) buying their consoles. Its just a fact.

Nintendo announced Labo for Switch. Comes with cardboard you can fold to make enclosures and then play games. Two kits, $69.99 for the "variety" kit that has a house, fishing, a working piano and a motorbike game amongst other things. $79.99 for a robot one that is clearly priced as a full game.

I was 100% on a Mario Maker 2 untilni was listening to the top guys from the community. Barb, poo, dode, ryu, segan it doesnt matter. They all gave a convincing argument. The switch cant do mario maker effectively.

It has a similar functionality to the 3ds touch screen and it is far from intuitive on md held. You would need to create a peripheral specifically for the switch to really make it work and that has never once been profitable save guitar hero fad a few years back. As rule its a bad idea.

So Mario Maker 2? I dunno. Logically it seems unlikely and Nintendo not porting tne touch screen dependent games should be an indicator on this.

It can still be simple and intuitive. This is Nintendo we're talking about. That's pretty much their MO. (Well when it comes to gameplay at least. Connecting with friends online still seems to confound them.)

I don't think everyone who loved mario maker is so spoiled by the touchscreen that they would reject a game that didnt have it.

Have you used the editor on the DS? Its fairly terrible. Games is only good for playing the level made on the WiiU version. The 3ds version would have never had success without the WiiU counter part.

Its not about being spoiled; its about people not playing bad games.

And im of the opinion that nintendo will not release a subpar product for the easy sales, that isnt their way. So i think MM2 isnt going to happen.

(Ftr i mouse peripheral would solve this but again forced peripherals hurt sales historically and i think Nintendo knows it.)

Players of MM2 will be on board but i dont think the creators will and that will kill the game. I think Nintendo is smart enough to know this so unless they get a great solution...i think they pass.

It was never supposed to apart from a niche audience that demanded the arcade experience at home. In terms of what it set out to do, it lasted from 1991 to 2004 and was successful.

The Neo-Geo CD was the effort to be the real home system, but long load times and lack of software support killed it early.
