Of all the "new blood" wrestlers, why did they pick Billy Kidman to feud with Hulk Hogan? Scott Steiner would've been a better choice, IMO.

Scott Steiner wasn't exactly 'New Blood'
I think Kidman did an ok job, there were probably others I would have seen in the feud, but he done ok.

Yea, I like to think of the end days of WCW as crap. What they hell were they thinking in picking Billy Kidman to go up against Hogan. They kept on saying that this is a match that every fan has dreamed of. Ok, if you are a fan dreaming of this match you must be on some sort of drug because I dont think anyone wanted to see these two go at it.

It was done so that Hogan could prove to the boys that he is a team player and willing to put anyone over, even a guy as low as Kidman. Of course he never put him over, he just lost a match to him, there's a huge difference.
Putting over Steiner in a real feud would have been far more risky, which is why it didn't happen. Steiner was a threat to his spot, Kidman never was.
Its all politics.
He had just recently did a radio interview totally burying Kidman to the point where Chris Kanyon wanted to quit the company. Obviously they thought it would be good doing all these "worked shoots". That never drew because they booked it wrong and Hogan didn't put Kidman over (big difference between getting pinned and putting someone over). Shane Douglas vs. Ric Flair had more smart mark heat than anything and they blew that too because by the time they did it, nobody cared.

Saturn also said a while back that Hogan was a selfish politician in far more colorful words after a Hogan/Kidman incident, and that he'd retract his statement if they ever worked a program together.
