Colin Delaney signed a 3 year deal after months on ECW, then got fired like 2 months later. Probably will be the same with Ellsworth.

Only difference is Ellsworth is moving a lot more merch than Delaney probably ever did and I think Delaney had some attitude or issues backstage that led to his quick firing.

Unless Smackdown's Creative is legit toying with the idea of giving Ellsworth the WWE title, this should be his peak in terms of the storyline.

WWE really should have done the IC and Cruiser belt swap at Survivor Series since Smackdown's IC and WWE divisions are way too thin to support both. Styles-Ellsworth and Styles-Ambrose are being stretched out too long as a result.

Not sure how anyone could think it would be a good idea to have the US and IC titles on the same show with split brands. They'd essentially be the very same thing. Also, leaving Smackdown with only the top title and the cruiserweight title would make the show look very odd, I feel. Not switching was the right call.

WWE has already shown the idea of the US belt's prestige only maters if its Cena and Reigns with the belt. Maybe even Rusev only because he plays the perfect anti-American bad guy for it.

Once Reigns drops the belt, its probably going back to irrelevance after a short while. Either that or rehash Rusev's stuff with the belt for a third time if he takes it next.

I'm still ready for this brand split shit to end. You could make the Royal Rumble pretty fucking prestigious to be honest. Have the Royal Rumble to decide the #1 Contender for the True World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania and a series of unification matches:

* AJ Styles vs. Seth Rollins (Rollins wins the belt from Kevin Owens at Roadblock)
* Roman Reigns vs. The Miz
* Charlotte vs. Becky Lynch
* The New Day vs. Randy Orton & Bray Wyatt (they win the belts at TLC)

That's a pretty huge card and can allow you a must less convolutated and cluttered run heading into Mania, where you just know the rules of the brand extension are going to go out the window anyway.

• Throughout the entire show, I found Ambrose to be genuinely annoying. I found myself just wishing he would fuck off.

• Intercontinental Title match was good and I'm actually happy to see the Miz/Ziggler stuff continue, and I feel it's right to end it at TLC. A ladder match sounds very promising and I'm really looking forward to it and I'm sure it'll be another fantastic match from both men.

What they've done for the title is amazing and I really hope that after the Miz/Ziggler stuff is finished, this momentum will carry on.

Also, things got a bit awkward when Corbin missed his cue for his interference. It just made Kalisto look really stupid. What the guys in the back see in Corbin just baffles me. He legitimately sucks. He's boring as all hell and I really really feel he needs to go back to NXT for some much needed work on everything about him.

• The Gauntlet/Turmoil match (whatever the hell you want to call it) was not bad. I've always enjoyed this match type and I would like to see more, but not too much as that would just ruin the novelty of it. (just look at Hell in a Cell)

I feel that calling Mojo a spazz doesn't really do him any favours, and I feel really bad for The Vaudevillains, but more so for Aiden English. I can't help but think that the team being jobbers just leads back to Simon Gotch being a complete prick backstage. (if the stories are true)

I wouldn't mind seeing English go solo though. I think that would be interesting.

It was surprising to see The Wyatts get in on the tag team action but with the bell not ringing at the end of the match, that means the match is still going, right? Anyway, part of me thinks The Wyatt's will win then go on to win the titles at TLC. I'm still not completely sold on Orton though. I still feel he'll turn on Bray, possibly during the title match at TLC.

• Even though I found Ambrose to be annoying from beginning to end, I did enjoy him as a Mountie (or possibly THE Mountie). I was just waiting for him to say the line, and what made it that bit more funnier was that you could see both Ambrose and Bryan try their best not to laugh just before Ambrose delivered the line.

• Alexa Bliss is fantastic and I can see her winning the title at TLC. Also, her completely destroying Otunga on commentary was hilarious.

• Kalisto grabbing a chair after the Kane/Corbin match is obvious we'll be seeing a Chairs Match at TLC, which is stupid. That match type has got to be one of the worst/stupidest match types ever.

Expect to see Corbin swinging a chair around next week.

• The main event was what it was. I think Ellsworth announcing online a few days ago that he had signed a contract made it obvious he was going to win the match.

I'm not really that bothered by Ellsworth sticking around. It's entertaining in its own way and hearing JBL come up with some of his insults can actually be pretty funny at times.

JBL saying that maybe Tony Chimel can donate one of his chins to Ellsworth actually got a good laugh out of me. I don't see this Ellsworth saga lasting that long though. I think it'll start to wind up around Royal Rumble time. I really can't see this lasting past WrestleMania.

• Anyway, SmackDown was good yet again, but I don't think it was as good as it could have been. SmackDown has been better but that doesn't mean I think this week sucked. Not at all.

I just really could have done with Ambrose being annoying.

I think Ellsworth is actually going to get the title shot at The Rumble. There was a reason they laid out the match the way they did. They made sure Ellsworth got in offence to win the match, not just Ambrose winning for him.

Styles will obviously beat Ellsworth, but they see more legs in him than just beating him randomly on TV. Of course, plans change.

I'm guessing they want to get to Nikki vs Becky at Mania. I think the story of Nikki chasing the title after the neck surgery is a good one. Although maybe you create a heel girl faction with Bliss, Carmela and Natty. That way you have the group help Bliss win the belt which protects Becky, and then gives Nikki some obstacles to go through leading up to Mania.

Or maybe Becky is the one who laid out Nikki.

Last night's WWE SmackDown, featuring the fallout from Survivor Series and James Ellsworth vs. WWE World Champion AJ Styles in the Ladder Match main event, drew 2.505 million viewers. This is down from last week's 2.725 million viewers for the SmackDown 900 episode.

Combo of last week's Smackdown being a special episode and RAW getting the post-SS bump are likely the two main reasons why for the drop. That and possible viewer fatigue playing a role since it was the 4th night in a row for WWE wrestling shows.

Has she really gotten that much better in the ring? The last I saw her, people overrated her wrestling ability by A LOT because she was hot. She wasn't quite Kelly Kelly bad, but it was the same "underwater" style wrestling, with delays between her taking a move and bumping and shit. It was clear she was overthinking out there and evident she just couldn't work. If someone plans out spots for her and she goes out there and does a completely choreographed spot-fest, I imagine that is doable for her, but I don't consider that being "good in the ring." She can probably be carried.

The reason she doesn't get the same shit as the old Divas got is because she she's not being pushed as a top babyface and instead she is the mean bitchy heel which plays to our masochism as modern wrestling fans. Women's wrestling is also en vogue at the moment thanks to NXT, catching a spark that TNA started, and it's not cool to criticize the women objectively as performers, because they're trying really hard and being presented as real athletes now, which I personally feel is condescending as fuck.

I actually see a lot in her. She actually reminds me of Trish Stratus in several ways. I just don't think she's on the level people say she's on -- well, at least she wasn't two months ago -- and that's FINE. I just can't stand the gushing because people want to fuck her. And that goes into her charisma, but she is nowhere near the best woman on the roster -- especially when you rank them in terms of pure wrestling ability.
