Lets discuss the "out of ordinary" contracts (and included perks) in the world of pro wrestling.

Also lets discuss money wrestlers got for specific matches. I would love to know what Bret and Shawn got for the iron man match, what hogan got for his match against Rock.

If you have any contract or pay details lets here it.

I remember alleged portions of Hogan's WCW contract were posted at some point a while back. His pay was pretty damn ridiculous for his obligations to WCW.

wasn't he making like $1 million a month or something ridiculous?

Sounds wrong. His reported net worth in 2012 was only 8 Million

Not quite in the papers, but this is certainly a take on one of the perks of wrestling...

Dave Wadding what are you telling us?

I feel like Kevin Nash had a crazy contract with WCW at once.

Yep. He mentions it all the time. His contract (and Halls) said that if somebody came in and was offered more that their contract was bumped to match.

He also had crazy PPV clauses. And almost full creative control.

Lot of people feel Hogan's ridiculous contract was a contributing factor to WCW's demise.

Yep. $2,000,000 guaranteed signing bonus.

Had to actually wrestle/perform at 6 PPVs per year for years 1-3 of the 4 year deal.

For each PPV appearance, Hogan received 15% of gross US PPV revenues or a guarantee of $675,000, whichever was greater. Depending upon the rating of each PPV for which he appeared, rated from 1.5 to 3.5+, Hogan would get an additional payment of $250,000 up to $1.75 million.

For Nitro & Thunder appearances, Hogan got 25% of after tax gross ticket sales, but not less than $25k per appearance.

For house shows, Hogan got 25% of after tax gross ticket sales per appearance.

Found this interesting:

Bollea shall represent and warrant ... that he has the full right, authority and ability to promote, appear, wrestle and perform, and to otherwise perform his obligations, all as contemplated herein, and that the execution, delivery and performance of this Agreement has been consented to and authorized by all individuals or entities required to consent to and authorize the same, and will not cause or result in a breach of or default under any other agreement, contract or understanding to which Bollea is a party, or require any payment by WCW under such, including without limitation that certain letter agreement between Bollea, Titan Sports and Marvel dated March 25, 1985 (the "Marvel Agreement"), the Merchandising Agreement between Bollea and Titan Sports dated January 1, 1985 and the letter agreement between Bolea and Titan Sports dated November 20, 1992 (collectively the "Titan Agreements").

Looks like WCW was really concerned about Vince's Jan. 1, 1985 and Nov. 20, 1992 agreements potentially being still in effect. Either that, or Hogan still had two deals with Vince (one of which was some type of merch deal) throughout his WCW tenure.

The Hogan-WWF-Marvel deal was definitely still in effect because this contract has a condition precedent requirement that Hogan must first be able clear his performance obligations to WCW with Marvel (i.e., essentially get Marvel's permission) before WCW would accept his signing of this agreement.

I Was talking his contract in like 1998 or whatever.

Didn't Hogan also have some crazy merch deal that might have included him getting a cut from other wrestlers merch sales?

Think Jericho had a story in WCW about when one of his merch items was sold, it ended up getting added to Hogan's tally instead.

Hogan received $20k a month OR not less than 25% of WCW's licensing and merch revenues on "generic, non-talent specific NWO merchandise) every month he was a member of the NWO.

Jericho said there was two SKUS for WCW merch: Hogan and Sting.

I kinda wonder if Cena had a similar deal to help pad his "top merchandise seller" thing, alongside them understocking other folks merch (see Punk, C.M.).
