I liked Luger back in the days when I was a young kid who thought wrestling was real and if he was a face, but the reality is that he was fucking awful. He sucked in the ring, his promos were utter shite. The guy sucked, he had the look and was in the right place at the right time, but didn't have the tools to run with it.

Roman Reigns, overall isn't terrible. He's solid in the ring, does have charisma and charm, but he's WWE's next big star, and the fact we know this, is why people are against him. I'm the same to be fair. I don't care for his character, his booking, or the way he's generally being shoved down our throat, but that's not really his fault.

But either way, he's still better than Lex Luger.

Not as familiar with Lex Luger's work, but it never really excites me. Roman Reigns is a flop as a babyface experiment, but he washes out with Luger in that sense. Reigns has been part of an iconic faction (and this is even in modern times), some successful WrestleMania main events, has won more championships and has been part of some great matches. The part where a draw could smash Reigns is where Luger is actually let down.

Wrestling skills wise, they both were pretty average but give Luger the nod in terms of promo skills and character/gimmick.

Star power wise, Luger was bigger overall but Reigns career is still pretty early and has a higher ceiling for his potential star power.

I know it is opened to interpretation, what a better wrestler is, but surely potential things that may or may not happen in the future should have no bearing. Reigns is being pushed by the company, but he is genuinely hated by a large part of the fan base. Cena was massively over as a solo act before the booing started, Reigns didn't even have that. Not even going into the disparity in talent, even at that stage.

Lex was a big star in a really huge era of wrestling. He had some fun storylines, and some really memorable moments.

Roman is a good athlete and can have good matches with the right opponent, but for me he fails on most other aspects of what being a star is.

Sexy Lexy had a better look/body, could talk, and has success as a face and heel, both solo and as part of major factions.

I feel he has achieved more in wrestling than Roman too.

This could be a blowaway for Reigns in a decades time, but right now, I don't think he has done enough, and what he has achieved, has been forced and he has looked out of place in those lofty positions.

Lex was also brilliant as the narcissist. He stank as a face in wwf but I even saw him work a decent match with diesel. In wcw up until the end of 97 there wasn't much bad that he did. He was actually pretty damn solid. He catches big time flack for his dire face wwf run and being on the sinking ship post 97 wcw. But he's a decent talent.

Roman is good and probably technically more sound but I get no joy from seeing him on tv other than during his shield days.
