Galloway also leaving. Looks like Dixie leaving has actually made TNA worse somehow

Been rumors for a while that WWE were interested in the Hardys again, but I wonder if they'd be interested in the new wrestling in Japan if they weren't offered a good deal or anything?

Hope the Hardyz don't go to WWE. They'll be watered down in about 5 seconds and I'll need to change my username again.

The other rumours I've been hearing is that Double J wants to make TNA more traditional again, so the broken shit would be watered down anyway. At least this way it'll be in the biggest stage if they did go to WWE.

I feel like Galloway in his old "Drew McIntyre" persona probably has more potential to succeed. I hope they re-sign him and put him on SD!. He could be a breath of fresh air for the IC division there.

I'm with Vito...not interested in seeing the Hardys again in WWE. They had their time as a team and Jeff won the big one, but I don't want to see them be treated as a novelty act that return for a few months and disappear ā la The Dudleys.

Also it's highly unlikely either would ever get a big singles push, especially in the "New Era".

Evil Vito
02-27-2017, 02:24 PM
I could only accept The Broken Hardys in WWE if they're continuing the Expedition for Gold.

They still need to beat the Club, Alpha, and New Day to be the best tag team in all of time and space.

Just give The Hardys creative control over Main Event. Let them book all kinds of wacky shit like what used to happen during NXT when it was still a main roster show. I'd actually go out of my way to watch it.

#BROKEN Hasney
02-27-2017, 03:13 PM
Well he's done the best creative that TNA have had in years, so it's well worth asking, especially when there are other interested parties that will probably offer more money, sounds like it was the first step in the negotiation. Easy to just say no as I wouldn't want to give that to anyone in my company either, then just keep negotiating

The response and everything after that is the fucking crazy part.

They just acted like a cunt which set Jeff off and Matt was still negotiating even after that and got sent a stupid deal.

Agreed. Even though they didn't agree, he would've been more crazy than his on-screen TNA persona NOT to at least ask. It seems to me that TNA were being the outlandish, unreasonable, childish and downright GREEDY ones. I mean, 10% of his profits from working with other promotions?! That's some Vince Russo logic there.

Emperor Smeat
02-27-2017, 05:26 PM
Could see if this was a purely financial move considering TNA's new owners already stated they wanted to bring costs down but TNA management still being just as bad with new owners is not a good sign.

Figured out of all the potential free agents, the Hardys had the best chance of staying. Matt liked the creative freedom given and Jeff liked the less stressful traveling schedule.

The other rumours I've been hearing is that Double J wants to make TNA more traditional again, so the broken shit would be watered down anyway. At least this way it'll be in the biggest stage if they did go to WWE.
Seems really dumb considering the Broken stuff got TNA a lot of exposure last year. Not their fault the rest of TNA couldn't carry the load so they couldn't really build off of it.

For that reason I see them staying on the indies or Japan for awhile, just so they can keep doing their shtick a bit longer.

Looks like Matt Hardy might not be able to bring over the Broken gimmick to the WWE or any new company he signs with.

If Broken Matt wants to continue using that name after leaving Impact Wrestling, he may have a fight on his hands — because right now there’s confusion over who owns the gimmick.

Sources close to Matt tell us his current deal gives Impact the ability to profit off of anything already filmed having to do with ANY gimmick he used throughout the course of his contract … but, once that’s over, he retains ownership of his name and characters.

However, our Impact Wrestling sources tell us that’s not the case at all. They claim the current deal specifically states that their company owns all IP creations.

As we previously reported, Matt and Jeff do not plan to re-sign with the company because they felt dissed during contract negotiations.

As for a possible non-compete clause, we’re told The Hardy Boyz don’t have one. Which means they could potentially show up in another company as soon as next week.

Looks like a lot more wrestlers could end up bolting when their deals are done. PWI stating the 10% cut TNA wanted from the Hardys for non-TNA events is going to become the standard for all new contracts.

Same for royalty payments getting slashed and paychecks getting tweaked to now be per date instead of per show. Means if TNA/Impact decides to do a bunch of tapings in a day, they only have to pay the talent once and not per episode they appeared in for those tapings.

Thanks man, I appreciate it.

(Alittle "Paul Titan Update") I started training and competing in Strongman events again (the guys pulling trucks and pressing logs on ESPN) The match was actually the day before a competition and I cut weight to compete in a lower weight class. So basically I cut 11 lbs in 3 days, did the match with Swoggle, got a couple hours of sleep, injured myself in the contest.... and still placed third. :D

Ironically enough, at the show with Swoggle, Jeff Jarret was there too. He was really nice, we talked some, and he said to "get some stuff together" and go to bat for me to get a tryout in TNA (so if I do get a tryout, I'd have EC3, Snow and Jarrett all pulling for me)

So I'm training and polishing some in ring stuff up right now. There's a strongman competition in June I have a very good chance of winning. My idea is win the competition, then send the stuff in so I have more accolades to my name, which should help my chances in getting signed.

Nice, good luck man. Even if we're mocking TNA right now for losing the big stars, it still would be damn good exposure.

Just, uh, have a lawyer look over the contract so you don't give up 10% of everything else you earn.

You thought about getting down to Florida for one of the NXT tryouts?

I'm also gonna play Devil's Advocate here after reading Anthem's explanation of why they're letting people's contracts expire/ not renewing.

"Supposedly" Dixie had promised the talent huge paydays and their pay scale was unreasonable for a company that wasn't making that money back. For Mike Bennett, Dixie paid him $250,000 a year, plus what they were paying Maria, which is a HUGE paycheck for someone who just got to the company (and isn't a household name to wrestling fans). Anthem's justification is basically, take that money, find 3 or 4 guys for that price, and advertise those guys instead of paying one guy a quarter million a year.

From a business standpoint, if you can get rid of one Mike Bennett and get three "Paul Titans" out of it (indie guys who are young, athletic, good workers that you can mold for the next 10 years) and spend the rest of that quarter mil on advertising your new stars.... why wouldn't you?

Add another one to the list of the departed as Jade is currently rumored to be leaving the company. Nothing official yet but Twitter and several dirtsheet sites are reporting she's leaving.

If she doesn't show up during the upcoming set of tapings, pretty much confirms the rumors.

PWInsider brought news this morning of yet another high-profile talent who won’t be re-signing with Anthem-owned Impact, former Knockouts champion Jade (aka Mia Yim). She follows Drew Galloway, Matt & Jeff Hardy and Michael Bennett & Maria Kanellis out the door. There’s no word on if she’ll appear at the taping to write her character off, but Insider reports the company plans to only use talent they have locked up on the Mar. 2 - 4 shows in Orlando, so... don’t count on it.

According to Pro Wrestling Sheet, Hardys are currently in early contract talks with the WWE for a possible return.

Pro Wrestling Sheet has learned Broken Matt and Jeff Hardy have begun preliminary talks with WWE about a return to the company … this according to multiple sources.

Sources with direct knowledge tell us talks started this week after the brothers’ Impact Wrestling contracts expired, and right now things are looking good.

No deal has been offered quite yet, and something could always change — but as of right now it looks as though they’re heading towards Matt and Jeff returning home to WWE.

As we previously reported, Broken Matt and Jeff felt dissed during contract negotiations with Impact and their lawyer was told to call WWE if they didn’t like the offer being given.

It’s unclear what creative plans for the brothers are if they get signed.

I think Matt, "#BROKEN" or not could be tremendous in the Cruiserweight Division "vee-uhh 2!". As for Jeff, he could be amazing as US title contender/holder, main event picture guy, or if they're really feeling like rolling the dice, perhaps even Universal Champion long down the road.

I'm reticent to say they should just be stuffed into the tag division on either brand, because I think fans want to see newer teams and not names that would seem like another nostalgia act that gets thrown in for a huge pop and governess at first only to have them vanish ā la The Dudleys. I also don't think they'd benefit from 50/50 booking there or even contending for or holding either show's tag belts. Maybe I'm wrong, but I just don't feel like that would be a good look for them.

Got me thinking they could do a post-Mania draft where each brand can bring in "non-contracted" guys and NXT call-ups. Potentially you'd have The Hardys and Shelton Benjamin if he's healthy now, how are contracts looking for Lucha Underground guys? You could look at Johnny Mundo/John Morrison or a return for Mystrerio. Throw in some of the UK guys. Plus the likes of Nakamura, Roode, The Revival, DIY, etc. gives you a decent talent pool from which to draw. Add in 2 inter-brand picks to freshen up the roster but not move too many pieces around.

In regards to the LU guys, wouldn't be able to sign them till around he end of the year. Last I read, LU contracts technically don't end till around 6 months after a current season. Them putting a break in the middle of this season adds a couple more months to the deals.

Although those deals only count for promotions with tv shows.

Expedition of Gold continues. Impact should have let them keep the TNA tag titles, if they are getting away from the TNA name one would think they'd get new titles that don't have TNA on them.

I thought that was the case. Still, a decent talent pool to draw from. I personally wouldn't draft straight after Mania and would wait until around the time the initial split happened, however, WWE have conditioned us to expect Night After Mania Raw debuts.

According to the Observer, reason the Hardy's picked ROH over the WWE was due to ROH guaranteeing them creative control over their characters while the WWE wasn't willing to offer.

Its a long term deal but the actual number of years weren't revealed.

Turns out the deal with ROH might just be a temporary one since the Hardys are rumored to still be in talks with the WWE for something long term.

Already being teased if they do return, its going to with their old gimmick or something new since the WWE doesn't want the Broken gimmick. May or may not be tied to the recent legal mess over it with Impact Wrestling.

Continued mixed signals on The Hardys future, as they were reportedly spotted in Pittsburgh last week, leading to speculation they were there to take their WWE physicals.

While at the same time, Matt filed for a trademark on the “Broken” character, which would likely mean if they came to WWE, it would be with their old or a different gimmick.

Someone transcribed them

LMAO FUCK YOU GUYS @EdNordholm @RealJeffJarrett @IMPACTWRESTLING

MORE than happy to play this game

Can we just talk about how many times Matt's contract could have been broken due to NUMEROUS issues on TNA end and...

...never made a fuss about shit, but MFers wanna try & come at us NOW, *after the fact* ?! Don't you have an owl to promote or some shit !?

Or - I dunno - a company to "make great" ? Instead of acting like the petty little bitches you are ????

Speaking of petty, nice video package on TNA's "history": with NO visual or mention of Jeff - who gave his all for 7 YEARS - or Kurt ?!

But y'all sure made sure to get those two video ID shoots of Jeff Jarrett in there LMAO. But it's "just business, brother", right ? PETTY.

Everything these boys have done for the company & you wanna try & fuck us for the sake of it. Literally no other reason except YOU MAD lol

How about my husband leaving me A DAY AFTER GIVING BIRTH to make your TV tapings ? That's how dedicated this MFer was to the company.

How about how the 3 highest rated TV segments of 2016 were financed by HARDYS solely to help the product & because they BELIEVED IN TNA

Or ALL THE SHIT TALKING BY JJ throughout contract negotiations & Matt was STILL THERE, professional & trying to make things work for 2017 !

Oh & this the best part...these MFers trying to come after SEŅOR BENJAMIN.

LMAO I CANT.

"Seņor Benjamin" - my dad, by the way - who was never paid a dime by the company & who was obviously never under contract...

...Not that those contract things mean anything to TNA...Until after they're over or until 3 days before they expire, apparently.

Funny thing is, everyone who ever actually had anything to do with #BROKEN Matt Hardy has our back on this.

WHAT DOES THAT SAY TO YOU ?

Damn near 20% of your roster leaving in the span of a week, all citing the same reasons or none at all.

WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU ?

And then a fakeass "wishing you well" tweet from @EdNordholm, mere HOURS before threatening to sue us. SUCH A FITTING END, MAN.

Seriously, you couldn't write this shit... Well. TNA couldn't write this shit... any writers worth a shit left too !

Real cute how TNA can go radio silent for WEEKS (with exception of nonsensical drunk texts from JJ) but we get a 2 hour deadline to respond

Fuck you think this is, "Taken" ? LOL I can't.

Good luck explaining to your talent that their pay checks are late (again) because you're spending all your $$ suing the Hardys.

And fuck that owl.

According to DA SHEETS, TNA does trademark things, like Aron Rex is trademarked for some goddamn reason. But they either didn't or couldn't with Matt Hardy.

XL
03-11-2017, 03:31 PM
Why are they waiting until now to trademark it? Or was the application already in?

Heisenberg
03-11-2017, 03:45 PM
Takes a year with those trademarks, plus Matt probably wasn't trying to be in this situation in the first place and figured he was working with family(TNA) and was being a soldier about it all

XL
03-11-2017, 05:27 PM
Wasn't very clear but I did mean why did TNA wait. A year? Jeez. TNA/Jarrett should probably be reasonable in this situation. Are they likely to use the "Broken" gimmick without Matt? Let them have it as goodwill. Can't see WWE using it anyway.

Emperor Smeat
03-11-2017, 11:40 PM
WWE does similar things once in a while as well.

Had a recent one involving Ryback and think it only got revealed because of a trademark lawsuit they had against him. Turned out the WWE never bothered to trademark his name and certain slogans till around the time of his release. By that point, Ryback already owned them since he filed his requests around the time he started to have serious problems with management.
