I think what changed was Cena moving from "constant main event title picture" to "grizzled vet who floats in and out of the main event as he pleases".

I think his US Title run and the Open Challenge helped a lot too.

Just good to see him working with younger guys and giving them a good showing.

Anyways, I am voting Cena because he is a complete package both in the ring and out of it.

Voted for Cena mainly due to his longevity being the opposite of Orton and closer to Jericho in the sense of having some quality revival moments. Could probably thank the Rock since his career really turned around quality-wise from their feud and onward. Helped move him gradually away from his very stale comfort zone for matches and feuds while showing he's actually a lot better than what the WWE/Vince shoved down crowds throats for years.

This for me too. Also went with Brock, hated Cena for a huge portion of his run for being stale and bland. In spite of how talented he is and how much he has won me over as a performer, Brock is just more special to me.

I will literally watch everything Lesnar does and am interested in very little of what Cena ever did.

Also, don't see Cena as anywhere near guys like Hogan/Austin/Rock to be honest. He is talented and extremely hard working. He is funny and charismatic, but he was the biggest star of a poor era. You can't compare him to guys like Hogan and Austin who had over twice as many viewers tuning in just to see them on a weekly basis at their peak. And make no mistake, people tuned in to see them, and the same can't be said completely of Cena. He was the star, but probably not the reason the majority tuned in.

Cena insisted and insisted and was pushed and pushed and that mix of what talent he had and the push he received got him over to the extent that he is. He has been booed solidly for a large part of his run and although he is popular with kids and adults sometime booed him "for fun", his peak is nowhere near Hogan/Austin and his global appeal is nowhere near The Rock.

Probably gonna go with Cena based on his larger body of awesome work, although he did have his fair share of stinkers too, many more than Brock, but Brock wasn't around long enough to have that many bad showings or he probably would have just as many. Went with Brock. Cena got in on Brock's departure. No doubt he would have got there eventually, but Brock is just that league above...well, most human beings on the planet earth.

Cena might be more versatile than Brock -- I'll give him that. He's a better promo when he is in that money promo mode. He can also be as terrible as Brock when he's burying talent and missing the point of what he's actually trying to sell. Brock is arguably funnier when they do comedy too. Unintentionally or otherwise.

In the ring, Cena is wonderful, but Brock is just...fucking...wow. The way he makes anyone who touches him look like a god. Cena doesn't have that quality built into him. His selling and his offence can still look a bit shit. He's great, to the point that someone in his position needs to be great, but he's not Brock great in the same spikes.

And, when it comes to being a draw, Cena is controversial. Business dipped under the Cenazoic Period. The company went all-in with him, and their audience decreased. Now, of the people who are left, he does impact business positively, but that's the bed they've created by making it the John Cena Show.

He and Brock are the only real stars they have, so both should be holding the World Titles in this two-belt world we live, but I actually do think that Brock is just, ultimately, that little bit more objectively valuable. Although, if it came to building a new company with either him or Cena at the center, it's a bit like Sophie's choice. Cena would turn heads, because it's John Cena in a new environment, whereas Brock has worked places like New Japan before. That being said, I wouldn't choose Cena because he's the overall better talent.
