Thankfully, I'm sure the European one will actually look like the nice SNES we got instead of that US ugly one.

lol even less games than the NES classic.

I'd probably say the average quality is wayyy higher though. Plus, with FF6, Earthbound and Mario RPG in there, a metric fuck ton of hours. Plus, 2 controllers.
I barely had any interest in the NES (bar the shell for a RetroPi), but I'm pre-ordering this as soon as I see it available.
Sexy EU model confirmed here too thank fuck.

Doesn't even have Super Mario All Stars?

Nintendo always ignore it, probably because Mario 1 has a stupid momentum bug which ruins parts of the game.

So again probably, once they're gone, they're gone.
It's like they don't understand that they can actually make more profit by meeting demand as opposed to selling a preselected number of units.

From what they say, making these actually hinders Switch production. Right now, Apple is gearing up for the next iPhone so the memory modules and displays are being taken up by them, slowing Switch down anyway.
These are basically to get Nintendos name out there again and try to convert people to Switch because that's where the real money is rather than a one off purchase.

I want this but feel like it will be prices at like 150 now.

The price is in the title, $79.99.
Amazin UK pre-orders are full. Not gone up for order in the US.

80 is reasonable.

Very small amount of third party games but at least Nintendo learned by including another controller and making the cables longer this time.

Was hoping to see Turtles in Time on there, but that's a fun collection. Including two controllers is great also, I just hope they make more than 37 of them.

Or is just emulation again?

Emulation.

For those in the UK, Amazon is restricting pre-orders to only 1 per customer likely to combat scalping and let more people have a chance to buy the mini console. Also because they likely are not sure how many of those Classics will be sent to the UK.
They started sending out emails to those who ordered more than 1 console stating their pre-orders have been changed.

Small warning to those who pre-ordered the new Classic at Walmart as the retailer recently canceled all pre-orders for the device.
In an email to everyone who ordered an SNES Classic, Walmart explained that the page went live on accident. "Unfortunately, due to a technical glitch, the Super Nintendo Classic Edition was mistakenly made available last Friday evening ahead of the official release date. We, regrettably, will have to cancel this item on your order. We know that this is incredibly disappointing to you, and we’re truly sorry for this mistake," the email reads. The full letter is in the gallery below.

Some details about the Classic:
the Super Nintendo Classic is coming with a couple of new features on top of it's 21 games. As expected, there are "suspend points" that let you save anywhere and at any time. There are also various frames you can put around the games as they run in 4:3 and you can even add simulated scan-lines in CRT mode for that old school feeling. But the real story here is the rewind feature.
Depending on the game, you can watch your own recorded gameplay footage from around 30 seconds to several minutes. At any point you can jump back in and continue to retry certain sections or pick up something you missed. What's more is when you leave the console idle, the system will play that automatically recording gameplay as a screensaver.

For those in Quebec, the SNES Classic is currently rumored to not be arriving for that part of Canada and Quebec's language laws as the rumored reason why.
Speaking to website Motherboard, two anonymous employees of EB Games claim they were informed that the SNES Classic cannot be stocked due to Quebec's strict language laws. Since 2009, all video games that have been globally available in French must be released in French in the province.
Thus, if any of the games on the console ever had French translated ports, then the SNES Classic must include those ports, or not at all. This is the supposed reason that the console is unavailable in the province.
Nintendo Canada neither confirmed nor denied the reasoning. "Nintendo considers a number of factors when deciding which markets to launch its products in," a spokesperson wrote, "but we do not discuss details about our distribution plans."

For those in the UK, Retro Gamer magazine announced they are reviving their Super Play magazine series for a special one-issue edition on the SNES Classic.
To celebrate the release of the SNES Classic console, UK magazine Retro Gamer have announced that there will be a single-issue revival of dedicated magazine Super Play.
The magazine was a standard for UK Super Nintendo owners in the '90s. Featuring a wealth of news, reviews and previews. It also had a love of Japan, and would feature reviews of import titles and RPGs that many readers would longingly drool over, knowing they'd likely never see sight of them on UK shores. The final issue was released in September of 1996.
Super Play was instantly recognisable thanks to its glossy cover, always emblazoned with anime art by Wil Overton, who has thankfully returned (along with the original editorial team) for this one-off issue. StarFox 2 is the star of what will likely be the last issue of Super Play ever released.

I was just joking. I know they've filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy, which means they can, and most likely will, in some way, shape and/or form, emerge from it. How successful they'll be is up to them, but I digress.
