Sure, I grew up watching Big Show, not Andre but just watching some of his late 70s stuff on youtube is enough for me to be sure that's an easy choice.

This is a tough one because if Andre was in the era Big Show was in, he would have ended up pretty much exactly the same (underutilized, mishandled, flipped back and forth between heel and face). If Big Show was in the era that Andre was in he would have been a much bigger deal and had a greater impact.

Andre has the advantage of being larger (and thus more of a spectacle). Big Show has the advantage of actually being able to work the microphone.

I'll go with Big Show although this is a tough one. Only going Big Show because of the longevity of his career and the guy almost never being hurt, not to the level of Kane never being injured but the guy has been a mainstay for 20 years. While I haven't seen alot of Andre's work I feel what I have seen, Big Show was better in the ring. Character wise Big Show can obviously work both well and I haven't really seen alot if heel Andre truthfully. I feel if Andre was around today though he'd be more of a Great Kahali type rather than a Big Show.

If not for the way he was booked, I think Big Show would transcend wrestling. He's got the personality to be adored by a mainstream audience just like Andre. If you put them in the exact same position though, I still think Andre would have been a bigger deal than Show. Going with him.

I can only go on what is and not what if so andre takes the nod. His work in Japan is better than anything Big Show has done.

I struggle with the idea that Big Show is basically just as good as Andre the Giant, just from a shitter era. Andre was brilliant in the ring. He really knew how to work and had a mind for not only protecting his value as a top star, but he also knew how to make other people look tremendous just by working with them.

Big Show, and I do not hate the guy, has been in positions where he has floundered. Sometimes that is his own booking, but sometimes it his own motivation, naivete, and, honestly, inability to play the role of a giant as well as it could be played. I do agree that a large part of beating Big Show not meaning anything is booking, but I do think that a large part of it is that it's Big Show, and he doesn't have the same inherent greatness that Andre has.

I'd say Big Show has gotten more out of the wrestling industry than he's really needed to put in. He's done the talk show circuit and told his bad comedy. He's a lovable goof of a man. He's been in films, and for the most part, they have sucked. He's been in WrestleMania main events, and the one against Mayweather was even good-ish. But he's also been sent to developmental because no one has given a shit. It's not like he hasn't been given spotlight and used. Has he been booked to be the most effective? No, but it's not like the guy lights the world on fire even when he is in a great position.

If his career was a Rotten Tomato-esque aggregation of critical consensus, I'd say Big Show would be in 60's. Considering how long he has been around, he's contributed quite a valid amount of positive things to wrestling, and has amassed a catalog that's noteworthy and deserves fandom. Andre would have been like 93% right until the end, where things got clunky.

If Andre were around today, you'd still have a savvy giant who knew how to work and would have gone elsewhere if Vince got spotty with his booking. You'd have a man with a charisma who crosses language barriers. WWE would probably do a PPV in France if they had Andre today. I just think that there is a large gap between the two, but it's nothing for Show to be ashamed about -- Andre was someone very special.

If you put Big Show in an earlier era, I think you still end up with a guy who gets burnt out fairly quickly. Show is obviously more talented, but I think he's more like El Gigante. You click and point him and soak in the attention he draws you. But it's very possible to mar that by giving away too much, and Show himself doesn't know where that line is. If he were around in the territory days, I have a feeling that Paul Wight wouldn't have been the household name that some people assert he would have. I think he would have been successful and noteworthy to a degree, don't get me wrong, but I don't think he would have the same legendary mystique around him. He doesn't have the same charisma. It's as simple as that. It's a mistake to think that Andre was just size.

Andre far and away. I got into wrestling because of Andre....from the moment I saw WrestleMania 3 I was hooked. He wasn't my favourite, but goddammit my family is French and I gotta root for him there too. Like |I said in the last one against Cena: He could work, he had a presence and is probably the best big man ever.

I know I said André served as a template/"inspiration" for Big Show when I voted in the last poll, but even as awesome as Big Show has been, I can't forget how they once tried to build him as an Andre, Jr., even going as far as to call him The Giant in WCW. My point being Big Show spent time as an André clone, but he really paled in comparison and I think to many, felt like a cheap knock-off during that time in his career.

I don't believe André has as many titles to his name as Show, but I feel nonetheless that his body of work over the course of his career is much more impressive, with all due respect to Mr. Paul Wight, so I voted André.

For me, this was a battle of Fezzik vs Capt. Insano. While I love Capt. Insano in the Waterboy; I believe Paul Wight got screwed out of the best supporting actor Oscar when they gave it to some loser called James Cockbum for some shit movie call Assfliction. But Fezzik is a legendary movie character, and would destroy Capt. Insano. Also, as far as the rassle-art goes...in 1981 Dusty Rhodes and Andre defeated The Cowboy Connection (Bobby Jaggers & R.T. Tyler) to become the NWA Florida Tag Team Champions. Yes, that's right, Andre the Giant rassled Bobby Jaggers. Competition over.

I think Andre was better because his natural charisma and presence were off the charts. He was a larger than life personality who people found fascinating.

I think it's a mistake though to vote against Show based on his motivation for big things in WWE. A large portion of Andre's WWF tenure was done in great pain. He was a drunk and could be unpleasant to be around, never mind work with. A lot of his tenure was WWF needing him and using him wherever they could. It wasn't exactly his drive and determination to continue his own career.

By the time Big Show came around, being a giant wasn't enough to be a special attraction on its own.

Seen a lot more of Big Show's work but he doesn't have a similar impact nor legacy Andre had for Big Man/Monster type wrestlers. Big Show's longevity has been more of a negative than positive because of his booking over the years.
