What are your favorite PS2 games

I picked a PS2 slim and 17 games up on craigslist yesterday.

Most were racing a sports games. But a few were actually what i wanted.

Burnout 3 ( amazing )
Need For Speed: Underground ( rather have Hot Pursuit 2 )
NHL 2k10

Everything else was pretty meh


But let me know what PS2 games you love.

I think its a majory underrated PS2 game. A fun survivor horror game - real survivor horror, you get through by hiding, not fighting. Beautiful environments and fun and unique gameplay. I think it's a tremendously underrated Capcom gem and would love a next gen sequel or remake.

You try and recover your missing body parts and as you do you grow in power. Fabulous.

Yeah, from what I played of it before ultimately getting stuck and never playing it again it really was.

Also, probably goes without saying that Ico is highly recommended if you like SotC.

Additionally, I'd also recommend Amplitude, Frequency (both of which served as predecessors to Guitar Hero) and FantaVision if you can find them.

I love SotC and absolutely hate Ico, played Ico first and was expecting SotC to be a similar case of being all hype, but no, that game is an absolute gem.

Megaman X8 is surprisingly good for being at the tail end of the series, avoid X7 at all costs though. BURN BURN BURN TO THE GROUND /r/sethrollins.

I thought Sigma was killed off for good in X2 but apparently he's the Dr. Wily of the X series.

Zone of the Enders 1 and 2 - You fly around in giant mechs

Ico and Shadow of the Colossus - Both are very minimal, but in Shadow of the Colossus you slay giant monsters in a huge open world with hardly anything in it, Ico is more about problem solving and is more beautiful IMO
