Phenomenal Bookings: Episode #1

A new topic and segment that I'll be bringing to TPWW forums each week as I've gotten back into wrestling and I've missed discourse on the message boards regarding wrestling. So here's how it layouts:


You are the Head of Creative
You get to book your segement, match, storyline, signing of talent relevant to the topic of the week
Justify your decision and where you are taking your talent IE:

-Decide if they go singles, tag team, or stable
-Justify as Babyface or Heel
-Title Matches
-Low, Mid or Main Event status of the card



This week's topic....

Vince McMahon hires you as his new Head of Creative, Talent and Live Events. After you are hired, Anthem Sports decides to get out of the wrestling business. WWE makes an offer and it is accepted. Impact Wrestling is now owned by WWE. You are able to sign 6 talents to WWE Contracts and push them directly the main roster. What is your decision. For the purpose of storylines and creative, tag teams/stables will count as 1 talent.

I literally have no idea who is in TNA right now.

So I'll say I'd just bring in maybe their best tag team, whoever that is, and then their five best female rasslers to bolster the womens division with some more depth.

No need for any more males singles rasslers on the roster. Already enough as it is.

I’d take Lashley, Carter, Johnny Impact/Mundo/Morrison, Spud, James Storm, Rosemary.

Well, in that case, you GOTTA have Curry Man. After all, he's hot, he's spicy, and he tastes great.

I take Bobby Lashley. He was green and forced down everyone's throats years ago, but he's a big-ass dude with credibility. I mean, not only because of MMA, but also because he wouldn't take racist shit back in the day. I've heard he's grown a bit more of a personality. I hope so. If not, I'll beg Vince to let me hire Jim Cornette or Zeb Colter to let them be his mouthpiece.

Face or heel: Out the gate I am going to say face. I'm not sure whether or not the fans will instantly take to him, but he's not going to fuck around and be all smiley.

Plans: We don't have Brock for long. Ideally I'd like to hold off, but if I'm going to book Lesnar vs. Lashley, I think it needs to happen. I have Lashley return as a free agent at the 2018 Royal Rumble and look like a machine. He eliminates Roman Reigns to win the entire thing, because Philly will then forever be on his side because of the "Not Roman" principle.

On RAW, Heyman tries to coerce Lashley into signing with SmackDown. Lashley pretends to be interested. It looks like Lashley is going to sign with SmackDown, but Kurt Angle informs Heyman that Lashley already signed with RAW this morning. The two then brawl and do a pull-apart. They do a bunch of training vignettes, etc. I would perhaps have Kurt Angle involved with Lashley, come to think of it. Lashley wins the Universal Title at WrestleMania.

Talent: EC3

Alignment: He's a heel in the sense that he's going against faces, but let's expect him to be cheered.

Brand: Whichever one Cena is on

Program: vs. John Cena

Details: John Cena is standing in the ring being all John Cena. "Ladies and gentlemen..." Here comes the trouble. EC3, dressed like a boss, comes out and Cena can't believe it. EC3 comes from a very different family to the McMahons, and no one would have expected to see him here. But he's not afraid to try and make it in foreign territory, because he really is that good. EC3 beats Cena, and hopefully he can hang in the main event, or at least have cred an an upper mid-carder to work with guys coming up the ranks. Actually, a feud with Jason Jordan could be hilarious.

Alignment: Face

Brand: RAW

Program: vs. The Miz

Details: Just put the IC Title on Morrison and let him be cool.

Talent: James Storm

Alignment: Heel

Brand: SmackDown

Program: vs. The Fashion Police and The New Day

Details: BEER! MONEY! I know it's early days, but I'm already flat on Roode on the main roster. They don't really have plans to push him, and he's just there because he's really good. Having Storm return and help out Roode gives them both something useful to do on the main roster. As a heel tandem they can have great showings, both in the ring and outside it with The New Day and The Fashion Police. Each guy can occasionally work singles and help the other out, since they could use heels on that front too.

Talent: Gail Kim, Sienna, Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary

Alignment: Heel

Show: RAW

Program: vs. Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, Bayley

Details: Please don't retire, Gail Kim. Please don't retire. Take some time to chill out and then come back after WrestleMania, when we have sent Charlotte and Becky to RAW, and challenge the Four Horsewomen. Gail Kim tried to start a revolution in this company years ago, and if it wasn't for what she did in TNA, no one would have given any of the four in the ring a chance. Kim then brings out punky Sienna, gothy Rosemary and amazonian Taya to go against the Horsewomen. I think everyone will have a distinctly different look and feel to them. Those permutations should be able to keep the wheels on that division spinning for a little while.

Talent: Zeb Colter

Alignment: Heel

Show: RAW?

Program: Managing Sheamus & Cesaro, possibly others

Details: Zeb Colter is a lot of fun. He's a good manager. I would like to see him end up back in the WWE, and to be able to pick his brain.

In regards to where to put some of them, EC III goes to the US title scene and midcard, Lashley to the WWE title scene, and Morrison to the midcard and IC title scene. Also keep all of their current face/heel alignments to keep things simple.
