I have questions.

Also if you're hovering over this thread and don't want spoilers, why would you even read on?

Mind you I'm going to ask my spoiler questions in the next post, but still.

Was anybody else disappointed that Jonathan and Nance got together. That whole scene was really creepy with the guy basically encouraging the teens to fuck in his guest room. I half-suspected him to have a hidden camera or something.

Was anybody else bored by Jane's (11's) journey to 8? I was watching it and thinking it was just a plan to set up a spin-off. Wasn't into it at all. Especially when 8 was telling Jane how to use her power with the train. Like, shut up Yoda. You can't even move shit with your mind, stop being a bitch.

Lastly...nosebleeds. nosebleeds can't be good for anyone. Is there going to be a consequence for constantly using psychic powers? It seems like even slight use of her powers triggers blood, but I thought she could do minor shit without problems.

Anyway, I still really really liked the season. It was good to tide me over until Punisher.

None of that bothered me, I would like to see more of experiments 1-10 in future seasons. I liked Nancy/Jonathan hooking up (I didn't think of the cameras but you are probably correct, ha!)

I also really liked the Lucas/Max relationship, Dustin/Steve friendship and Bob/Paul Reiser's new characters. I think it's interesting we never saw Paul Reiser's character get attacked in the stairway...so he might not be as benevolent as he appears down the road.

Hoping next year we learn more about Hopper's lost daughter Sarah, 'Papa' being alive and the other experiment subjects...plus the Mind Flayer clearly is not done w/Hawkins yet.

I loved Bob so much.

I was happy to see Paul Reiser on TV again and I kept waiting for him to become a villain, but I'm glad he didn't do anything overtly evil at least. He almost got Bob out safely, and seemed to be the only one to care about Will's life.

I did like the Steve/Dustin friendship too. Steve is so great now.

Using their powers stresses them and they require lots of food and rest afterward.

I'm only on EP 3 now.. skipping past comments. So far, i like it. It's totally commited to 80's except... the Family Video camera shot. ( i dont know for sure and have not ressearched it, but I dont think Family Video existed in this era.. }

I mean, It looked like a Family Video shot and i'm from the Midwest so that might be a Midwest thing. Not sure, but i dont think Family Video existed then.

So no brain damage? Nothing permanent?

Don't think so. But I imagine pushing enough can kill themselves.

Also, RP, you're making no sense in this thread while not finishing the season.

I was surprised by some of the songs in there. I could have sworn they were late 80s.

Dead via cancer.... revealed in the first season....

...or is she

Lock Jaw

Yeah, probably.

Unless they reveal that Hopper just plain never saw her body after she passed on...... or the government replaced her body with one of those stuffed corpses that they made of Will in season 1.

But I don't think so.....

what if 11 is Sarah

Lock Jaw

Don't think that would make sense

Timeline also seems like it wouldn't match up.....

There's an entire plotline where El meets her mother, who is not Hopper's ex wife, and who Hopper also met last season.

But what if Hopper was 'playing it cool' like he didn't know her and in her 'mental state' she didn't recognize him.

You have to consider the follow-thru of ideas like that.

So there's an episode in season 3 where Hopper's like, "Yeah she was my wife. I double lied to Jane. Kinda sorta put a major delay in our first investigation. I'm also a huge dick for leaving my baby mama with her sister. But I love you guys."

That's absurd narrative wise, even for this show. And btw he totally called his ex wife last season who was not a potato and seemed married.

Yeah Hoppers wife clearly had a new baby, which could be heard crying in the back ground, and then he said something like "Tell Bill I said hi" before hanging up.

With the D&D theme, I wonder what will be referenced next.

I'm going with "The Unending Hunger" being the force behind whatever has infected that upside down. Maybe Pandorym.

I bet we see a beholder reference at some point. Also they were still worried about the demodogs molting and continuing to grow, could see one of those being Tarrasque.

I should stop nerding out.

Not familiar with D&D but I can follow the general tropes being that they exist in other media.

I never played standard D&D but was a huge fan of all the forgotten realms games (baldurs gate/icewind dale/neverwinter nights) so I got into the lore a good bit.

That would have been my guess.

The PI didn't strike me as creepy... even though all the signs would be there: encouraging teens to bone in his guest room while standing around in his underwear and robe in his secret bunker... but no. He was almost endearing. Especially at the end, where he's watching the Evil Gov't Inc move out of Hawkins Labs with a lawn chair, and the solider flips him the bird. I wouldn't be surprised if he comes back later.

One person that is ringing alarms for me, though, is Mike's dad. He seems like some secret big bad that won't be revealed until a later time: like he knows all this nonsense is going down and he is well aware of it, but acts like an unhelpful loser.

I have this theory that when the mind flayer left Wills body and flew off that it will eventually swoop back down and possess Maxs piece of shit big brother.

Although I kind of sympathize with the brother because his dad is clearly an abusive son of a bitch.

Kalyx triaD

To Max's luck, the brother seems to be more verbally abusive than how their dad goes about.

And he better get with Will's mom. That will be fun.

What if Will is Hopper's daughter and the government changed his gender

What if Hopper is his own daughter and the government changed his gender, de-aged him, and sent him back in time

Interesting watching Beyond Stranger Things and seeing some of the tension between the girl who plays Max and The Duffer Brothers.

Solid season , poor Bob :(
