Easy thread.

Miz VS. Cena
Why? I loved how Miz struggled to get to this point and I was rooting against Cena. Miz was one of the only guys who ever made Cena interesting for me.

Daniel Bryan VS. Triple H
Why? Nobody thought that Bryan would even get his match, I remember really being on board with the Bryan push during this period. Pulled me back into being a weekly viewer.

Brock VS. Undertaker
Why? I was one of the few who believed that Undertaker would lose. It was such a huge upset for like 90% of fans and Heyman really sold the match. Wasn't THE best, but it was good and had an amazing feel to it.

Shawn Michaels VS. Ric Flair
Why? Two fucking legends. Just a wonderful match.

Austin VS. Rock (final)
Why? It's Austin and Rock. Duh.

Honorable Mentions:

CM Punk VS. Undertaker
Bryan VS. Batista VS. Orton
Mankind's "Last Match"

Dishonorable Mentions: Undertaker VS. Wyatt, Undertaker VS. Roman, Rock VS. Cena 1 and 2

Last WrestleMania I cared about was XXX. The story of Bryan was something I think most wrestling fans invested in. I suppose AJ/Jericho had me too, because there's always been something about AJ, and Jericho is Jericho. I was also happy to see Becky Lynch make a WrestleMania at 32, so the Triple Threat had me interested, despite it probably being better served as one-on-one between Charlotte and Sasha.

Can't really remember any from the last 5 years that I was actually invested in. Like... I care in SOME way about the Andre the Giant battle royal because battle royals are fun but I don't care about the outcome or anything because it's a throwaway match. And I care about some others in a passing "wouldn't it be cool if the obvious didn't happen" sort of way. But for what I think you mean...

Rock-Cena 2
Rock-Cena 1
Taker-HBK 2
Taker-HBK 1

Sting v. Triple H
I was looking forward to Sting finally wrestling in a WWE ring. While the match wasn't what I was expecting with the whole NWO/DX bit thrown in. I was still excited to see Sting finally wrestle as Mania.

Jericho v. Shawn Michaels
I know this was a long time ago, but I loved the buildup to the match, as well as the match.

Undertaker v. Kane
This was at WMXX and I was super excited to see Undertaker come back as the Deadman, The effect quickly wore off but thru I knew the match would be exactly what it was, was still pumped seeing him back.

Shawn Michaels v. Undertaker 1
The buildup to this had me pumped and actually believed that Shawn would actually beat The Undertaker

When MITB was actually apart of Wrestlemania, just because I loved Ladder Matches back then.

I used to love the Money in the Bank as a WrestleMania addition too. WrestleMania 21 and WrestleMania XXIV are the standouts to me. The rest tend to blur together, haha.

Oh yeah. I cared about Sting vs HHH, too. Until it happened.

Wrestlemania 32
2) AJ Styles vs. Chris Jericho

Wrestlemania 31
4) Triple H vs. Sting (Even though the build-up was largely poop, still cared about seeing Sting rassle at WM)

Wrestlemania 30
5) Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H (and vs Orton/Batista. D-Bry in general that night)

I was curious about seeing Sting in the WWE. But yeah, then it happened.

Yeah, the match turned out to be poop, too.... but that wasn't part of the criteria..... at the time I cared about seeing it......

It got weird when the NWO came out and helped Sting. It was like... "Did anyone involved in booking this match not get why this makes no sense?" Others were into it because of nostalgia but I'm not as much of a "nostalgic act meets the current product" mark as I used to be. It's been done too much.

The WWE/WCW divide made Sting look like an idiot too, since he said it was not about that. It completely derailed the emotion too. And the wrong guy went over.

Yeah, was so weird when Sting came out and literally said "this has nothing to do with WCW", but then the build up and promotion to the match was still all about WCW vs. WWE.

Also, making it about WCW vs WWE made Sting come off as the underdog face with something to prove. And then he lost. It was kinda Booker T vs HHH all over again if you think about it.

Triple H then came out later in a suit to work with Rock and Ronda.

Yeah. What a war Sting put him through.

Seriously, that segment would have worked just as well without him, too.

He's got to insert himself wherever there are stars.

Taker vs Roman was way better than anyone will give it credit for.

The match sucked, but I appreciated Jim Ross on the call.

Jericho/Owens WM33 - Love both guys and it was one of the only few matches that had an actual build rather than feeling thrown together in the name of giving somebody something to do for Mania. Would've been the main event 10 years ago before the days of awkwardly shoehorning as many part-timers as possible because they had no faith in the normal roster.

Jericho/Styles WM32 - Combination of Jericho being my favorite of all time and Styles working at WrestleMania being something I'm not sure I'd see. This was a dream feud I always booked back in EWR circa 2003 so to see it happening in real life felt wild.

Sting/HHH WM31 - I grew up with WCW and was always a Sting mark. Yeah the match sucked balls and I found myself just wanting to see even more run-ins as it was happening just to go whole hog with the whole thing being ridiculous. But as a long-time Sting fanatic I still wanted to see this match.

Bryan WM30 - Technically it's 2 matches since he needed to beat HHH first, but yeah. The prospect of Bryan getting his moment was easily the most excited I'd been for a possible Mania payoff since Benoit at WM20. Since the Benoit moment has, understandably, been wiped from history - I'm happy to have this moment as a direct replacement.

Punk/Taker WM29 - My first and only trip to Mania. Technically since I was going to Mania I was looking forward to the whole thing because an in-person Mania is a spectacle on its own. But if I wasn't going I can safely say this is the only match I would've given a shit about and it was easily the one I enjoyed watching in person the most. There was zero intrigue on Punk beating the Streak - clearly he wouldn't especially with Bearer having just died and Punk mocking Taker with the urn. But it didn't matter, I figured these two would put on a classic and it delivered.

I didn't care about Taker at Mania after the loss. He should have retired that night or the following Mania against Brock.
