These episodes are taped well in advance and no one has seen them. We are almost all experiencing this together. Specific spoilers of past seasons ARE allowed because it's assumed that you've watched the show and it's already out there. Specific spoilers of non-aired content (yes, even in spoiler tags) WILL be reported to the mods and hopefully removed ASAP.

An example might be "Man, just wait until you see the crazy shit Mascarita Sagrada does in Season 4, Episode 15!" would be okay because it's non-specific, but "Dude, Mascarita Sagrada wins the Lucha Underground Championship at Ultima Lucha Cuatro!" would not be because it gives away something in the future that may/may not have been seen by everyone.

LU is taped and these episodes are old, but it is way more enjoyable without it being spoiled for you. Assuming that very few people have seen these episodes, those of us that have need to be respectful of the viewing experience of others and not just throw shit out there without purpose.

Eric Van Wagenen (Executive Producer of LU) was on Masks, Mats and Mayhem with all the info on season 4.

I'll list a few of the big points but not everything (so that people actually watch the show and give the MMM Show some views):

-Season 4 will be a shorter episode count but still "somewhere in the 20s" (so likely around 28 episodes like Season 2)

-They expect to start taping in February and may tape every weekend, and maybe even some Friday nights, and with that plan to be done taping by the end of March, which help the tighter budget.

-Not 100% sure if they'll get the same location for the Temple, but if not, he's already scouted another location that's "real weird" in LA that he likes a lot, even kind of likes the idea of moving it to change it up.

-He's thinking it'll start airing in late spring/early summer. He mentioned late May -- although said don't hold him to that.

-They're going to loosen up the exclusivity for the wrestlers under contract and let them work more other televised promotions in recognition that they'll only be taping for a couple months. EVW specifically mentioned letting people work ROH and NOAH as examples, and of course Impact which people are already working

-Also mentioned the possibility to have "guest stars" from these other promotions where they could come in for a weekend or two, like the STARDOM women did, and have a condensed story (also mentioned STARDOM as still a possibility for this).

-He thinks that Season 4 is the hard season in terms of making it work with a tighter budget, but if they can make it work, this deal probably works for "Season 5, 6, 7...."

-When asked "Why did you kill Dario?" he said "Is he dead?" and mentioned that we could still hear Dario's heart beating as the episode ended....

Jeff Cobb will be working the next season of Lucha Underground as Matanza Cueto. It’s known he’s been looking to get out so he may be on the list of guys who are coming back to be written out. Obviously Cobb is looking at working more regularly with New Japan, and Impact has shown an interest (although his Lucha Underground contract wouldn’t block him from Impact) and we don’t know about ROH but him going to ROH would seem to make sense.

He has a very narrow mindset of what wrestling should be and is very stubborn to adapt it to modern wrestling and styles. Its a major reason why he has the rep of being tough to work or deal with and why even his great ideas came off as being abrasive.

This week's Lucha was pretty good, but last week's was insane. Lots of jumping off high things.

This week was Penta being Penta, to his own detriment. Going alone against 2 main eventers was a dumb choice, but he's not exactly bringing his brother back from the dead, I guess. Indiana Mundo was pretty classic. Too bad about the reptile. He'll be missed after impressing this season.

Season has been pretty good so far and really enjoy the creative ways being done to deal with people no longer being in the company.

Could have easily gone the lazy route by just ignoring them or have them simply lose a match as their exit but instead are using the departures in different ways to play into the on-going storylines.

I'm finally all caught up, and I'm in love again. Definitely gonna miss Vibora as soon as I started to like him. Mundo would be weird with the Reptile Tribe, though...who I think are much better this season. I like how Kobra Moon extends the letter "sssssss" when she speaks, and Daga fits well, even though he looks nothing like a reptile.

Pentagon has a hell of a rogue's gallery this year. Matanza, Cage, the latest challengers... and there's way more to come. I marked out so fucking hard at the end of this one.

Also, this episode is the first one where RoXer and I are in the crowd the whole time (and we ended up being there for the rest of the season), so my thoughts and recaps will probably start getting longer every week.

a thought I forgot to bring up a couple weeks ago:

I thought the Haunted House match came off way better on TV than it did live. Part of it could be where we were sitting (we happened to be near Melissa, you can see us in the background of the whole Melissa/Catrina thing). I just feel like I missed a lot of things because of the vantage point, or it could have been that Catrina was walking around in front of me the whole time and I was really distracted. One of the tables was blocking our side of the ring, I think. Also, Muertes is a sick fuck. Using the knife was insane, and then of course the TOP ROPE FLATLINER THROUGH A TABLE and The Mack landed on his goddamn head! The reaction for that was so loud.

Jack Swagger seems really bad in Lucha Underground. Def seems a lot slower than he was when I last saw him. Maybe it's just in comparison to the speed of everyone else, but he seems like a lumbering idiot.

Yeah, he's probably the only guy where I felt he doesn't really fit on the show. Something about his booking and matches comes more off as WWE style than LU or lucha style.

Even in terms of big or bulky guys, Brian Cage and Vibora are more entertaining to watch in LU than Swaggie.

Feel like half the smaller guys are more intimidating due to style too.

He just seems like a tall, once in shape but lost a lot of muscle mass but still got some size, kinda guy. Which I guess is exactly what he is

feel like this week's show was great. Aerostar makes me laugh a lot in his out of ring segments.

Feel like some of the matches really benefit from being edited (like the Trios and Killshot/Havoc both did). Cut the matches down to just the really good parts and speeds everything up.

Killshot's HANGING KILLSTOMP was super fucking brutal. Definitely one of the loudest reactions of the night.

Longer thoughts on Marty in spoilers.

Thought the Marty/Mariposa match suffered from the editing process. I kept coming back to that match as one of my favorites from the tapings and it seemed like it lost some of the impact on TV. It seems like this happens a lot to Mariposa specifically, which sucks, because she's incredible.

They beat the SHIT out of each other all over the Temple. EVERYONE was going nuts. Just a hell of a ride being there first hand.
