Flair mentioned on his 30 for 30 that he had an opportunity to jump to the WWF in 1986.

How do you think that would have went and what ramifications would Flair jumping to the company at that time on wrestling as we see it today. There's sooooooo much to think about.

I was three, and I already feel old here, so good luck with this one. Might want to toss some background in for us.

They just tried to sign him because he was hot. He didn't go because of his NWA roots and he was loyal.

Probably would have been better than his 92 run, but it's good that he stayed with Crocket.

I wonder how it would have changed Wrestlemania 3. We probably wouldn't have gotten Savage vs Steamboat, but could you imagine Hogan vs Andre and Flair vs Steamboat at Wrestlemania 3? Maybe have Savage vs Tito since that was a hot feud in 1986.

Flair was also in talks to come over in 88 to feud with Savage with a big match at Summerslam

Flair's lips would've been wrapped around Hogan's cock. Period.

Absolutely no one was going to be taking Hogan's spot during that time. Flair would have likely been the number one heel.

I also don't see how JCP survives Flair jumping in 86. They would have been toast.

Ahead of Andre?

Flair Hogan would have been the big angle forn 88-90. Pipers career would have been altered the most as its pipers spot he would have taken. Dibiase as a close 2nd

WCW would have never happend as JCP wpuld have died hus the attitude era and all that came with it never would have happend

This is my thoughts exactly. Hogan/Flair in 1992 didn't draw as well as everyone hoped (albeit Hogan being on the tail-end of his popularity).... Transplant those same matches back to 1986 and I think you have a different scenario completely.

Would you have still done Hogan vs Andre in 87?

Destor

In 86 that was already the plan so i think yes. Flair would be groomed to follow that act

Who would you have had Flair feud with going into Wrestlemania? It's hard because Hogan vs Andre and Savage vs Steamboat were so well done. Maybe JYD? Tito had lost steam after his house show run with Savage going into 87.

Nevermind, I forgot about Piper. Flair vs Piper going into Wrestlemania 3. Adonis had gotten himself suspended in late 86, so instead of bringing Adrian back, have Flair go with Piper.

I think savage loses his spot to flair. Sagage might have been lost in the shuffle honestly.

But flair piper in 87 is money

I definitely think DiBiase gets lost in the shuffle in 87. I think Savage would be ok. With Hulk leaving to go do movies, you could still do the twin ref angle and tournament but have Savage vs Flair coming out of Wrestlemania 4. Would have done better than Savage vs Dibiase (although that feud did better towards the end)

You could have Flair transition to Bruno Sammartino around the House Show loop after Wrestlemania 3 for a few months.

They weren't really changing people's gimmicks yet in 86. 1987 definitely.

They probably would have teamed Flair and Valentine up like back in the late 70s. No way he would have rassled Hogan.

Valentine was still teaming with Beefcake in 86, still feuding with the Bulldogs into almost 87. I don't think they would have tried to embarrass Ric in 86 like they did with others later on (Hello Red Rooster)

If Flair leaves JCP, maybe it has a butterfly effect, and Magnum T.A. never gets in that accident, and thus carries JCP in place of Flair.

Lot better chance Flair-Hogan happens at a Mania consider Mania 4 was mostly just a tournament for the WWF title.

Going by the bracket used, either replace Andre-Hogan with Flair-Hogan or have that as a first round match since the brackets have space for another match possible. Or just tweak the entire bracket so a Hogan-Flair match happens at some point.

Hogan vs Flair wouldn't have happened until around 1991 or 92. After Hogan dropped the title to Warrior, he got put into that feud with Earthquake that lasted until survivor series. Then he was all USA #1 going against Slaughter for most of 1991. Then his popularity dropped and a feud with Flair would prob have got him over again. This is what would have happened. Vince woulda had flair rasslin steamboat, savage, piper and Ronnie Garvin between 1987-1990.

If he had left in 1986, then Lex Luger probably would have left in 1987 bc he was nothing w/out Flair and he prob would have killed Miss Elizabeth 10 years earlier
