Here's the thing...

This strikes me as the annoying heel thing to do, like Randy Orton's "delayed debut" (the RNN segments with the updates on his shoulder). This should get him some decent heat as a heel who isn't as good as he thinks he is and trying to get by being associated with Kurt Angle by supposed blood.

BUT, I somehow feel that someone in WWE thinks this will somehow get him over as a sympathetic babyface, and when it doesn't work, it will be *his* fault instead of some truly dumbass booking.

Feel like Wyatt would be perfect to "break" him and it still might happen, original storyline involved Jeff being injured so they could still go that route.

The Jason Jordan/Kurt Angle story just doesn't work in 2017 and the crowd reaction is evidence of such. An injury/sympathy angle isn't going to work with Kane either. People love Kane and Braun and that's why that works as it Monster vs Monster. Then they throw in Balor and I was hoping that the Good Brothers would actually do something good and save Balor.

I get the whole Kane vs Braun thing but Kane doesn't need to beat up Jordan and Balor to get heat for Braun. It's already there. They just buried two talent to get heat for a guy that already had heat with the guy they're trying to get over, who is already over.
