Also to elaborate ala Noid on my previous thoughts, I can already see Jeff coming back around Mania time, getting involved in an angle with Bray and Broken Matt. Super star shake up happens and The Bludgeon Brothers get sent to RAW. They demolish Jeff for whatever reason while he is attempting to attack Bray. The Wyatt Family reunites and Matt turns on them because they attacked his brother. Then we get Wyatts vs Broken Matt & Brother Nero feud for a few months until The Wyatts go over.

At least for the first run, it did initially feel like WWE was legit trying to build up the US title with Cena. Then after a while it just followed the same routine and became a very cheap way for the WWE to get crowds to stop booing Cena. US title never got the boost it needed because WWE never really cared about it for the long run.

Them trying it a second time with Cena and likely now with Reigns just makes the whole process a lot more apparent.
