He was just announced as host for TNA's live audio show, so lol if true.

Wonder if he'll be used on television or if it's just a backstage gig.

I'm hoping he's used to produce the outside shots they're planning for the Woken shit as he helped out on that, but honestly, he's worn so many hats in TNA he could be brought in to do anything.

Commentator, ring announcer, video production, online strategy and content...

Maybe Michael Cole is moving to a behind the scenes role (that was rumored a while ago) and Borash will replace him on commentary?

Seems weird to me...WWE has plenty of announcers/interviewers/broadcasters already.

Replace Graves on SD

It's possible. Cole's been involved in production meetings at NXT for a few years now so that may be his next step.

Can't wait for the "I'm not good enough to call Backlash" promo.

Like I said, he's done so much it could be literally anything and maybe not an on screen role

Replace Graves on SD

I could see this, but he's a much better play by play than colour.

Thinking about it, he could be doing NXT production. He is Florida based.

He knows how to say Samoa Joe correctly, that's all we need from him, plus that #BrokeN brilliance

Vince has a pattern of rotating announcing personnel and taking people off screen once he feels they're past their shelf life. He slowly phased out Fink in the early 2000s. Tony Chimel is still employed but hasn't been the regular announcer for either of the main shows since 2011 and now only pops up on TV when Edge shows up. He essentially demoted JR and King at different times by sending them to SmackDown.

Cole's now been a fixture on TV for almost 20 years and has been the lead Raw announcer for nearly a decade. It wouldn't surprise me if Vince fully overhauls the broadcast team once again after WrestleMania.

Maybe Kevin Dunn is retiring and Jeremy Borash is replacing him and we can finally get rid of the weird zooming in/out and shaky-cam/weird cuts that Dunn has been so fond of the last few years.

I'd be all for Kevin Dunn being loaded into a cannon and shot into the sun

I really, really miss when wrestlers used to be in a brawl and the camera just 'showed them brawling' instead of zooming and fast cuts and 'shaking for effect'....you end up having no idea wtf is going on.

Let me see the dude punch the other dude in the face, please.

To replace him with a dude that's six years younger? I can definitely see Cole being phased out or swapped for Tom Phillips or Byron Saxton, but Borash seems like a weird choice.

I don't think it's a concern of the age of the performer (Cole's not even 50 yet) as much as it is the exposure to the audience. Most WWE fans have probably never seen Borash.

so abyss is the only old timer left in impact. the only on air stuff jb should do is interviews he needs to produce.

That's true, but there's also a reason for that. I think his role will mainly be behind the scenes stuff, or Network content.

If Abyss were to sign to WWE, would that be good or bad?

According to Abyss, they tried but Abyss was loyal to TNA

There was a handfull of talent the really thought it would catch fire. For a moment it looked like it owuld tbh. When angle came over I thought they might be on to something...then they let the boys runs the show and it went to shit.

Evil Vito

Yeah they wanted to bring Abyss in to do the Abyss vs. Kane match basically everyone fantasy booked on their WWE vs. TNA cards back in the day.

Yeah fuck Mauro. JB isn't an upgrade but I don't think JB is a big as a bitch as Mauro. Plus JB can help on the Woken Hardy stuff that really needs help.

Mr. Nerfect
01-30-2018, 01:43 PM
They got Angle and I was like "Yessss!" and then hired Vince Russo like that same week and it all went to shit. Like, even if you're a Russo apologist, he still seems like a weird fit for a company that's been defining itself with AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Christopher Daniels and Christian Cage. It'd be like getting Cornette to run Chikara or something.

Does TNA have any employees left?

Mr. Nerfect
01-30-2018, 02:09 PM
I wouldn't put it past them to continue even if all they had was Abyss wrestling himself.

Rammsteinmad

And that would probably be the most entertaining thing they've put out since 2008.

PWInsider, says Borash will indeed be working with the black-and-yellow brand and the developmental system, likely starting at this week’s NXT tapings at Center Stage in Atlanta. They claim he was not brought in to work with Matt Hardy on “Woken Universe” material, but could be tasked with helping craft WWE’s version of the “Broken” gimmick he helped Matt with in Impact.

Yeah, figured it would be that with the Florida base and likely being a HHH appointment.

Jim Cornette's Kevin Dunn rants are almost as good as his Vince Russo ones. I hope something happens to put Dunn in the news so Corny's got more of a reason to rant about him.
