I predict you're never going to see this many stars in a motion picture again for a very long time.

I think either Stark or Cap dies
Not sure how I’d feel about such epic stakes being undone by a bit of time travel. I know it’s a comic book movie and deaths never stick but I think on this occasion they should. If they end the movie with half the heroes wiped out only for the next one to undo it all...meh.

Just wanna note that unless Marvel Studios would troll hard enough to give false production updates (they wouldn't), we can surmise Black Widow, Spidey, Strange, Star Lord, Gamora, and Panther 100% survives.
Loki is almost certainly dead. Cap was laser targeted as a martyr from day 1. Stark may survive but his superhero career may be thru as his arc progressively led toward learning to hang up the boots. But for that to be the case Rhody is another one who may fall.
Bucky has 'death by redemption' written all over him, but I do not think the MCU requires both WW2 boys dying. Not to mention it'll render a huge event in the MCU kinda wasteful for him to die anyway.
I don't think anyone is gonna 'beat' Thanos. At best we'll see who gets to tag him, but outside of stealing the stones or making a deal, he's not getting put on his back.
I can see a scenario where Spider Man dies and Tony feels like its his fault for bringing Spiderman into the entire mess starting with Civil War. He's given him suits. And makes him an Avenger in the trailer. Seems like Spidey will die and Tony will blame himself.
But i think Time Travel will come into play. Even if it doesnt, cant the past be undone with one of the stones? I'm assuming the time stone.
The people i think 100% are dead are Loki and Drax. Drax probably dies cause he's too stupid not to charge Thanos the moment he see's him. Loki obviously gets killed after handing Thanos the infinity stone.
I find it funny that people on the internet dont think that's Captain America stopping Thanos's hand in the trailer. I read a bunch of people saying it was Vision. Even if Vision has the ability to morph into another likeness ( i honestly dont know ), why would he morph into Captain America? LOL Theres like a million black people he could of blended in with in Wakanda.

The Time Stone could theoretically be used to swerve any death that occurs, except that would raise a huge issue with a) a big point of Strange's movie was not to abuse natural law (assuming the 'bargain' thing was a one-off considering the threat level of Dormammu) and b) ...Why not reverse every death ever? Using the stone to save Spidey would be an indictment on the mystic order considering the several global level threats they sat out for the entire duration of the MCU. Strange would not allow Stark to save this one kid, and Stark isn't gonna know how to use it in one movie, either.
But given some set pics and extremely curious casting news this week, some time related 'thing' is certainly going down. So who knows.
The actor playing Bucky has already spoiled something potentially huge by saying that he just shot a scene where literally every MCU character was in it together. And he name droped Michael Douglas and Michelle Pfiefer.

They won't kill off Spidey, unless another person takes over the mantel for the next Spider-Man film.
Rodgers is definitely a "goner," and I think they will probably kill off Bucky, unless they decide to incorporate him into the Black Panther side of things.
Scarlet Witch and Vision are potentials.
I'd like them to keep Tony Stark; he can be some form of "elder statesman" for future Avengers; since Civil War, that is how I've seen his role in general.

I'm hoping a few die but I'm not sure. Felt like War Machine should have died in Civil War. Ironman and Hawkeye both die is my prediction.

I know I'm going to cry when Cap dies. I know it coming but at the same time, I don't want it, I would rather Stark bite the bullet, who honestly I do believe will die.
Either Falcon or Bucky will die, Not both however. The one that survives becomes your new Captain America.
I see Hulk possibly dying. They really need to set the stage for Thanos, and Hulk has been built up as a unkillable machine, if he dies, It really sets it up that yes, Thanos is the big deal.
Spiderman won't die, if anything I see him actually getting the Gauntlet himself at some point in this movie or sequal.
Vision is a goner for sure, Don't see any way to get the Infinity stone without killing him, since it is the thing that gives him life. Scarlett Witch will play a big role in resurrecting everyone. With them now having the rights to the X-Men. Scarlett Witch would be saved for a House of M movie.
Mantis more then likely is gone.
Mantis is too hot to die. I wont allow it.
And vision has one of those wakanda girls doing something to him so I'd say it's possible they figure out how to make him work without the stone.
Kinda wanted some legit predictions when i made this thread.

Ezra i didnt think about Mantis, or valkyrie. Or Heimdall. I assume they get wiped out. Valk.. who knows honestly . She's the biggest wild card here.

My prediction is that this movie will probably be a mess for half of it, but end in a big battle scene that will have me grinning ear to ear.
I predict that Cap will definitely die, maybe early in the movie. Stark will die avenging him, and Bucky will step up big time and help lead the rest to victory.
My thing about the Cap scene on the trailer. Thanos isnt punching him. He's reaching for him. Something dont add up there. Am i the only one that thinks that?

Captain America has been my favorite character to this point and I love his character progression from bright eyed soldierto morally compromised outlaw. He deserves a grand death.
There has to be at least one big 'emotional' death
I'm leaning towards Cap b/c Bucky can take over the mantle...also feel like either Gamora or Nebula will go down by Thanos own hand.
Heimdall and Loki I could see dying too.

Yeah, all his scenes in the trailers are on that ship. Could see him giving Thanos the stone to save his own skin, but Thanos, knowing how treacherous Loki is, executes him on the spot.
On another note, I'm worried they've dropped Thanos' obsession with Death, as they've made no mention of it in the trailers. It wouldn't be the end of the world, but it's such a unique motivation in comics and part of what makes him my favorite villain. Still a chance that all the talk of bringing balance to the universe is being done specifically for death.
If they're still making this a two parter, then that would be a great way of bringing back those he kills with the gauntlet in part 2. In the comic, Death hates Thanos for assembling the gauntlet, because even though everything he's doing is for her, he has essentialy become her superior in the cosmic order. Could see Death bringing back all the heroes to stop him in the second movie.

Thanos is balancing the universe. If they can't undo what he's done, then there are no stakes. He has no plans to eradicate the whole universe. They'd be fighting him in the second movie just to beat him up. The chance that they could save everyone who Thanos has killed is the motivation.
Also, after all these years and all these movies, it would be very disappointing if the whole thing ended on a downer. Even if they defeat Thanos, if half the universe is still erased at the end, that's depressing. No two ways about it.
I'm not saying everyone that dies should come back mind you. Just that if Thanos is able to assemble the gauntlet and erase half the universe, that those people should come back at the end. Anyone who is killed by Thanos or his minions directly can stay dead, as long as its a meaningful death.

Russo's confirmed that Death isn't in the movie and the balance thing is the main motivation for Thanos. Pretty sure Joss was going for it with the tease in Avengers and an interview where he gushes about Death a bit, but he [claims] he couldn't find the 'right story' (same Batgirl excuse).
I once speculated that Hela could take Death's place in the MCU for Phase 2. I still think that could have worked but the build-up to this is obviously better.

Damn. Well, here's hoping that Thanos at least has a well thought out reason for wanting to balance the universe, other than "GRRRR I'M EVIL!"

He does, but I won't say since people don't dig in every interview the way I do. But he does have a point.

Well this movie does end in exactly that way; The Downer.
The thing I’m getting at is that there has to be real ramifications at the end of Avengers 4. They can bring back all the characters that were snapped out of existence by all means but there has to be some cost.
I’m imaging that the cost will be the life of Tony and/or Steve seeing as they don’t croak in this movie
Do not open this is you do not want to know who died!
Heimdall - stabbed by Thanos
Loki - choked to death by Thanos
Gamora - sacrificed by Thanos for the Soul Stone
Vision - killed by Thanos removing the Mind Stone from his head
Black Panther - clicked out of existence
Spider-Man - clicked out of existence
Dr Strange - clicked out of existence
Star Lord - clicked out of existence
Mantis - clicked out of existence
Drax - clicked out of existence
Groot - clicked out of existence
Falcon - clicked out of existence
Bucky - clicked out of existence
Wanda - clicked out of existence
Fury - clicked out of existence
Hill - clicked out of existence
My theory is that none of the characters who are affected by the click are actually dead, but their souls have been moved to another time/reality/space/into the Soul Stone
Nailed all but Cap
Loki dies
Drax dies
Spiderman dies
Captain America dies
Gamora dies
Vision dies

Has to be right because Black Panther and Spiderman are to big to fuck up atm. The rest, i'm not sure.
Yeah, and that’s the thing that’s got me having reservations about the movie; I can’t suspend my disbelief that they’re actually dead/won’t come back because I know they’re not binning off billion dollar franchises after 1 outing
Time travel in Avenger 4 is real. Captain Marvel is real. They're kind losing me here. Why is Captain Marvel just now coming back... seems she should have been back a while ago. The Red Skull coming back was a bit ridiculous. I want impressed. I actually wish they had mixed Thanos Quest comics into this whole thing before releasing this.
MCU could have made a Thanos Quest series. It actually was set up to be perfect for them and they didnt do it. It makes me mad.
I loved the movie. I'm not impressed with the direction they've taken.

Was hoping that at the end it would show that Fury was calling Coulson and his team and they would blast the Agents of SHIELD theme.
I loved the movie. But i'm going to be annoyed if there is no Lady Death or Mephisto in a long overview of Thanos. Also i need Silver Surfer. I know Adam Warlock is coming. This all has to happen. If it dont, this all sucks.

You know who he calls right? ( not sure why i'm being spoliery warningy here )
The reason why so and so lives is easily explained. Thanos is not picking and choosing the people he kills. He's snapping his fingers to kill half to planet. Very simple.
