Well their Firing Squad shirts still had BC on them like it was just another sub group. I don't think Firing Squad is a better name than Bullet Club though and the Elite would be fine without the Bullet Club brand behind them.

I'd put this more as a freak accident similar to Joe's Muscle Buster on Tyson Kidd since Lee normally cradles the neck to keep the move completely safe. Last night he didn't have a sold grip before doing the move. Also the ref should have stopped the match but supposedly Takahasi told him he was feeling fine.

I imagine it was an angle and that they are going to run Jay White vs. Josh Barnett at some point. White will probably take the cocky, arrogant young whippersnapper role going against the grizzled vet with a background. I applaud them for doing more angles when they are in the United States. Good for him, I hope he keeps it up. I do think it says something about the overrated talents of others when Jay White and Juice Robinson can steal the show from under you though. Good to hear Jay White did well too. Sucks to hear about Hiromu. No one needs to get hurt like that, but hopefully it smartens up some of the work and he comes back a bit wiser and a bit tighter.

Generally, I like the idea of them doing more angles in the US. Makes the shows feel important and makes them feel appropriately "Americanized." I'm not overly keen on Tama Tonga as a main event player and I'm still not sold on Cody in such a pivotal role, but I appreciate the effort and that they are trying to cycle new people into new positions. Unlike the WWE just randomly pushing Jinder and people telling me to like it because it's anyone new, I do appreciate that they're going to give things a good go and that they're not leaning 100% on the stuff that sells their tickets today.

Uh, yeah, hate to break it to ya noid, but NJPW has done a great job building Juice up over the last year. I hated CJ Parker as much as anyone, but after his performance in the G-1, I turned around on him completely. And he's only continued to improve.

As for the the "feel good" story, they actually explained on commentary how despite improving and advancing up the ladder, he's had three title oppurtunities but come up short each time. AJ's great, so that doesn't hurt, but Brock has done great work with lots of people. It's not just people selling for him; it's how he sells for other people (when it's time). And it's how much he can get out of so little.

I agree that the spectacle has been tarnished, but I don't put that on Brock. I put that on Vince not being able to create a conquering babyface people actually like, and him not having the believable guys -- or not going with the believable guys -- in order for Brock to make them look like the dragon slayer.

That's why I hope Brock leaves. Because he can have that spectacle, and he does carry that credibility. And if he went somewhere that actually had babyfaces that people liked -- holy shit. Some details regarding the Jim Ross bump incident during the White-Juice match:

We previously reported Jim Ross was suffering from a possible broken rib after taking an unplanned bump at NJPW's G1 Special In San Francisco. Jay White heaved Juice Robinson through the guardrail outside the ring during their IWGP United States Championship match. The barricade was not properly latched together causing a chain reaction and Ross ended up being knocked from his chair.

F4WOnline reports Ross has been diagnosed with issues involving his ribs and lungs after the unscheduled spot. Ross must now cancel three commitments this week due to this injury.

The WWE Hall Of Famer is not happy about this spot and he assured fans this is not a work of any kind. Due to problems with his ribs and lungs, JR has also been advised by his doctors to be cautious of contracting phenomena.

Ross reportedly spoke to NJPW officials before the show to make sure nobody did any spots around the announce table because he knew how much action could take place outside the ring.

That's the incident I thought it was. JR has always confused names. Used to get Edge & Christian swapped all the time. He's still the best play-by-play announcer in the world. And it's the undercard. Most of them act like they are irrelevant, so why should JR refocus his energies into it? When you're important, JR treats you like you're important. More importantly, when JR treats you like you're important, you're perceived as important. They're just upset they're not getting the rub. JR is far more useful to New Japan than most of the talent talked about. They're replaceable; JR isn't.

If anything, get someone to do the opening card stuff, and then bring JR in to do the stuff that really has something to bite into.

Kind of funny when you think about it on how Japanese chairs are pretty much the opposite of Japanese tables. If Japanese tables have the rep of being almost indestructible, Japanese chairs are the complete opposite with how easy it is to break one.

Even with the soft shot by White to Tanahashi during last night's G1 event, the chair still broke apart. Suzuki pretty much goes through chairs like Jarrett does with guitars.
