Wait. Time out. Time right the hell out!

The Colons are still on the roster?!? Have they beaten JTG's employment timer?

Primo Colon has been on the main roster for 10 years!

Pretty sure that Primo and Epico have jobs for life if they want them, and that Carlito has had an open door to return if he ever wanted to.

Curt Hawkins
Mike Bennett
Ascension (Konnar and Viktor)
The Colons (Primo and Epico)
Tamina Snuka

This list is pretty much perfect.

Yeah I'd agree with that list.

Curt Hawkins I THINK he beat Apollo Crews fairly early on in his 2016 return, and that's been it. Beyond that he's lost nearly 200 matches in a row, and the vast majority of them are happening on Main Event, house shows, or dark matches. His losing streak doesn't get mentioned on TV, which would mean they don't really intend on going anywhere with it.

Mike Kanellis' entire gimmick requires Maria to be there with him, and she's only just had a baby a month ago. She won't be back from maternity leave anytime soon, if she ever comes back at all.

The Ascension and The Colons have both been directionless for years, nevermind months.

If we're taking the phrase "guys" literally - my #5 would be Zack Ryder who no longer serves any real purpose in the company. Any residual overness he had from his social media exploits died back in 2012, and he's just been there ever since.

If just male wrestlers, while Ryder is a decent 5th choice, I'd go Mojo over Ryder personally. Other than getting a battle royal win thanks to the rub of him being friends with Gronk, I can't think of anything else he has done other than a slight run as tag title contenders with the Hype Bros, and since Ryder had that same run, id give him the edge over Mojo just based on Ryder has actual success on his resume.

I have to admit.....Curt Hawkins is a guilty pleasure of mine.

He's genuinely a really cool dude. Plus he's a die-hard Mets fan (hence all of his gear being blue and orange), and I'm not lost on the irony of the Mets fan losing all the time. :'(

Too bad at this rate it'll take him longer to win a match than it took the Cubs to win a World Series after 1908.

Hawkins is solid in the ring, and there was a period of time where I was really rooting for him, but I think objectively he's just...so just there. He's like an undercard WCW wrestler.

Pretty much. I remember when the brand split happened, Hawkins' re-signing felt like it was out of left field. It was obvious that he was going to be used as a job guy, despite two months of vignettes.

I believe he and Jinder were ostensibly brought back for the same reason - they were used to working the grueling WWE schedule and were happy to take the paycheck to live that lifestyle again and job constantly without complaint. They even got traded for each other during the Shake-Up.

Hawkins has his own wrestling school, so he probably works a couple times a week, and teaching on his off days. Pretty sweet gig. I'm pretty sure Heath Slater does the same thing now

Hawkins always felt like a dude who was cut because they never had anything for him. Fair enough. When they expand to two different rosters across five hours, it makes sense to bring a guy like him back. He's good friends with a lot of the people working too. I wouldn't have really expected a push, nor do I think it is really warranted.

But yeah, his employment seems to be a symptom of the roster split.

Hawkins and Ryder are still best buds and have been since primary school, so it's odd to me that they've never been thrown back together as a team all these years later. In fact I think they just recently had a match on Main Event because they were in Long Island.

My thinking on this, and this is mere speculation, is that with their internet shows and that sort of thing, that they are perceived to be "trouble" together. Not in any big sense of the world, but just "bad influences" on each other, to the point where they don't really want to give them a chance to really run and do their own shit.

I've got next to no interest in either, but I could see them being put together as a babyface "feel-good" tag team. Curt will get a win with his best bud, Zack Ryder will be made out to still be popular, and they can have feuds and matches with The Dungeon Masters and The Quebec Agreement.

Ha, I'd forgotten that Hawkins tried his own YouTube show pretty much right around the time Ryder won the US Title on the back of Z True Long Island Story - and it lasted all of one episode. Then the cartoon shows with Hawkins and Reks got abandoned quickly as well.

Seems like in both cases WWE was like "oh no, we're not going through this shit again".

The Revival are boring, no personality, just a team of solid in ring work with a cool tag team finisher. All their hype is just a product of the NXT system.

I however like that they are a functional "mechanic team" that doesn't need a goofy gimmick. Yes it makes them boring and they won't be over like they were in NXT, but it also allows them to win matches here and there and not have the fluke feeling like when Ascension or the Colons randomly win a match.

I remember Tyler Reks randomly winning a spot on Team SmackDown for Bragging Rights. After he hadn't been on screen since WWECW ended. That was weird.

I was just thinking about that guy. My feelings about Maria's questionable hotness notwithstanding, I don't understand why he's even there.
I mean, I get they were a package deal, and WWE was so thirsty for her to come back... and in keeping with "The Kingdom", they have been after Adam Cole (Bay Bay) forever. Bennett has pretty much always been the afterthought in that equation.

Seems like it is just a reverse Marc Mero/Sable deal. They obviously had no plans for the man, they just wanted her , and I feel kinda bad for him. Well, I give as much sympathy as I can for someone who is getting a sizeable paycheck deserves (even though they don't even really have the need for her anymore - they barely can sustain use of the arm charms they have right now. See: Lana... they've temporarily let Zelina do this gimmick right. For now. Let's see how long this lasts... digressing...).

You know what I mean.

They could at least *try* to do something with the guy. They might end up with something they unexpectedly like in the long run.

Bennett's a weird case. He's posted about how he misses wrestling, which is presumably a jab at the fact that he's never booked.

But he also has to know he's never booked because A) he had to take time off to get clean and B) his wife, the main point of their act, is nursing a newborn. Both of those things are way more important than wrestling.

Mike Karnellis

Sunjil Singh (Literally he is there to bump while Jinder jobs)

Hawkins atleast has a storyline, even if it is he is a jobber with a nearly legendary winless streak

I didn't even know about the piledriver.

Meanwhile, I don't think Mike Bennett was ever an intended project at all. The whole idea was to get Maria back, and he was a bargaining chip. And then she went and got pregnant, so it backdoor'd him a spot on the roster.

I don't care about him (or her, really), but kudos to him for that scam of a lifetime.
