Need some srs bsns 205 live fans to answer this question for me. Let's say The Brian Kendrick gets into the junk food one weekend and binge eats. Then, oh noes, he weighs 207lbs at the weekly weigh in. Would he be banished to the main roster? Has this ever happened? Are weekly weigh ins a thing on the show? They should be to preserve the integrity of the show.

Ol Dirty Dastard
06-04-2018, 02:33 PM
Hmm we should ask 205 taskmaster ABT about this pertinent question.

Evil Vito

Buddy Murphy lost out on a title match opportunity because he didn't meet the 205 weigh in.

Good. He should be banned from the show too.

They should have a big fat wrestler join the brand, and when he weighs in, his gut in on the towel rack so he makes it.

Probably over 100k. I nearly snagged a national campaign a few years back and I was going to make around 75 grand if I got it. Gene is famous and it's a bigger brand than what I was up for so I bet he got over 100 grand.

If WWE was smart, they'd use Becky's win today as the setup to a long storyline of Charlotte developing a fear of the armbar. Just need Becky and Asuka to defeat Charlotte a few times with it and a few times of being close to winning to develop it.

Then you have the possibilities of Charlotte finally overcoming her fear at Mania by defeating Ronda or establish the armbar as the most devastating finisher in the women's division with a Ronda win.

Goddamn. Charlotte went from ending Asuka's streak to immediately losing the title, jobbing clean to Carmella and now jobbing clean to a semi-jobber Becky Lynch.

Add that to the big, scary, "unstoppable" Bludgeons losing in a non-title situation. I know it's said constantly but it still boggles my mind how this company doesn't have even a basic understanding of how to build credibility and put people over. 50/50 booking like a motherfucker.

Well I would disagree completely on Joe, he killed it last night, just like he has since his return. Same with DB, although Big Cass is not my ideal match for DB, the promo's are entertaining and dramatic and the story is solid as well. Not every match is going to be 5 stars and nor should it be, doesn't mean they can't have a good one though.

#1-norm-fan
06-06-2018, 10:35 AM
I think he means character-wise. Most people could care less about how many stars a guys' matches are if there's no personal investment in the characters. Bryan started seeming like just another one of the pack REALLY quickly after coming back.

I don't think so. DB came in just thankful to have wrestling matches, he doesn't care about being "The guy", but that's okay because on Smackdown, he is the guy. AJ phenomenal no doubt and has been a fine champion but he is just holding the title until DB gets it around his waist. Promo wise AJ isn't in the same ballpark as DB.

He's wrestling a bunch of pointless matches and jobbing just as much as everyone else. He even jobbed clean to Rusev. He's just one of the guys. You could replace him with any IWC favorite on the roster and nothing changes. He's interchangeable with them all already. His character is not special. The less we see of the mobile phone/Windows Movie Maker promos, the better.

• What was with those constantly changing awful camera angles during Big Cass' promo?

• I've never seen someone get so upset about getting pancakes thrown at them. It was kind of a weak ending to the match.

Happy to see the 205 live talk is back in the smackdown thread where it belongs!

Joe is fucking amazing as a performer, don't get me wrong. His promos are my favorite in the company. I genuinely like all that talent. AJ Styles is a fucking beast out there, and Bryan makes me care. Nakamura has got so much untapped charisma that can just never come out in this company.

Everything is just set to coast though. I don't care who is the WWE Champion, because it's starting to feel like the Women's Championship, where everybody gets a turn. Bryan is working with Big Cass, who is legitimately awful. The stories are just rudimentary WWE "things have no heat, why are we even fighting?" and often don't make sense.

They've got all these tasty ingredients, but I don't want to bite into anything they're offering up.
