O'Reilly & Strong are geeks to me. I just can't take them seriously, which is a shame, because they both so desperately want to be "serious rasslers." Every time Strong is wrestling, it's like I can see the gears turning as he is trying to have a "good match" for 2005 ROH fans. I don't know how else to explain it. He tries so, so hard -- but when you can see the effort it kind of defeats the point. I dunno.

I love Danny Burch. Salty fuck, haha. Good to hear he made a Takeover. Would like The Revival to come down and work with him and Lorcan.

Lars Sullivan might be called up soon, to be honest. I don't get the same feeling of imminence that I get from Nikki, but this is a safe semi-main to see how he does, and if Vince likes it, he could be squashing bitches by SummerSlam.

He's a midcard guy who is more gimmick than "match of the night" guy. That's pretty much what I expect from Dream. Though I think Dream is CAPABLE of having a MOTN if they give him the time and the story. Not so sure with Elias.

NXT really needs a reboot. To me the greatest thing about NXT was that the top guys felt better than the guys on Raw and Smackdown, and that just wait til they get to WWE cause they will takeover if you will.

A guy like Aleister Black, 2 years ago would have come across as a game changer. Now, I just know when he gets called up WWE will at best screw him up, and at worst ruin him.

The whole point of NXT is to make new stars, not new midcarders. I fear the callups of Tommaso, Gargano, Velveteen, Aleister , Adam Cole, EC3, ect.

You still gotta respect Tommaso, only dude in the WWE that can get the "F You" chants with that level of hatred. Interested to see if he can maintain it when not going up against Gargano and the story they have told, but as of these last few months Ciampa has been the best heel NXT has ever had in terms of getting real heat.

I'm glad someone gets where I'm coming from. Feels like it's sacrilege to have any criticisms of Gargano right now. "Cheesy" is a very good word for it. I'm not a big fan of the plunder matches. I appreciate a good brawl with good brawl psychology, but when it's trash cans and crutches, it's just a bit 24/7 hardcore for me. This also had all the tropes of your modern "everything but the kitchen sink" approach. It was kind of funny when Ciampa came alive and hit that DDT at the end and won the match. It was a DDT onto wood. Gargano jumped off from higher through wood a few seconds ago and was fine.

I really liked how Gargano had some threads that would tie into the finish of his matches with The Revival, but I feel that his position right now is to do "epic matches" with something "dramatically innovative" towards the end, and I think it's going to have diminishing returns. Just let the little guy wrestle. He's really good.

Most of the show was something I really enjoyed. Really liked what I saw of Dream/Ricochet, liked Shayna/Nikki enough and loved Black/Sullivan. Just because it's NXT doesn't mean it's perfect, haha.

Exactly my thought, get him away from Gargano and see if the heat is real, but until I see it fade, I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

As for the banging Candice thing, it would work great, but WWE doesnt have the stones to do that kind of thing anymore, even in NXT.

First time hearing Vic Joseph. He was okay. I think I liked him more than Tom Phillips. Didn't really pay attention to him. Inoffensive but not great, I guess. Loved Nigel on commentary. Holy shit it's weird hearing color commentators with insight. Percy Watson is redundant and I have no clue why even NXT has those box-ticking things going on when it, overall, feels like a much better structured, produced and organic presentation.

If the plan is to go move onto Black/Ciampa, I am really curious to see how Ciampa goes working with someone that isn't Gargano. I feel like it would be fresh and interesting for him to mix it up with some other guys.

I know they brought Ricochet in as their new "Big Signing", but him beating Dream felt like them sticking to their plan more than he was better than Dream. That is Roman Reigns style booking, and that doesnt end well.

They have caught fire with Dream, by accident or not, and he can only lose so many times before the crowd cools on him, and not be able to heat it back up again to the same level.
