LA Knight vs. Dexter Lumis was somewhat boring. Those two don't really fit in NXT in terms of their style of ring work.

Show's almost half over but its been sort of lacking the energy NXT usually has with their shows.

Not sure if its due to the recent COVID outbreak WWE had or just a typical filler episode they do every so often but this time a lot quicker after a TakeOver show.

Zoey Stark vs. Sarray was pretty good and a nice debut showcase for Sarray.

:lol: at Toni Storm's post-match beatdown of Stark ended up somewhat overshadowing Sarray's debut win moment.

Sort of hope NXT has some major plans for KUSHIDA soon since him leaving NJPW over being upset at not getting to turn heel and being stuck in the Jrs division only to then be stuck mostly in the low mid-card and win the Cruiser title in NXT still is a bit funny.

KUSHIDA vs. Oney Lorcan was pretty good, especially the latter half.

Back-to-back shows this week by WWE where they had a tag match that was entirely meaningless because of outside distraction stuff by a third team.

At least in NXT's case, the team that got distracted (Imperium) still won their match since it was just a squash.

Kyle O'Reilly vs. Cameron Grimes was very good.

This week's show was mostly entertaining and way better than last night's dump of a show from RAW. Best parts from tonight were the Zoey Stark vs. Sarray match and the main event match.

2 weeks into the move to Tuesdays and the biggest change is NXT feels less energetic now than during their war with AEW. Not entirely sure if its due to WWE's recent COVID outbreak or them just taking their foot off the gas for shows. NXT right now feels more like what it was prior to the move to USA Network and getting an extra hour where the shows were enjoyable and easy to sit through but not necessarily something you had to catch if you missed it.

I'd still rank NXT ahead of SD in terms of best weekly shows from WWE but now with a much smaller gap.

Tonight’s WWE NXT episode on the USA Network will be headlined by an exclusive interview with Adam Cole, plus champions teaming up for a big six-man match.

This will be Cole’s first appearance since losing the Unsanctioned Match to Kyle O’Reilly at the recent NXT “Takeover: Stand and Deliver” event.

Feels like James Drake has spoken way more on the mic this past month in NXT than the rest of Grizzled Young Vets time in regular NXT combined.

He used to never speak during their stay in NXT UK and for a long while in NXT as well since Zack Gibson did all the talking for the team.

Think Zayda Ramier legit forgot what to do for a spot since that was a really awkward looking delay when she went to go attack Toni Storm.

Wonder who Storm pissed off backstage to be treated like an afterthought since her return to NXT.

Sort of hope this 2nd hour is a lot more lively or energetic since that first hour wasn't RAW-like boring but felt very filler-like or flat overall.

Think Triple H & co. went a bit too hard on going back to original WWE Network era mentality for NXT shows without completely factoring in the extra hour since something has felt very off with these Tuesday shows.

Legado Del Fantasma vs. MSK vs. KUSHIDA was very good although think KUSHIDA botched the timing of his return to the ring from his "injury" rest break since that finish had an odd delay. Then again could have been Legado's fault since Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde hesitated a bit much with the timing of their finishing spot after Santos knocked out KUSHIDA.

This week's show was fine overall. Last 30+ minutes were really good while the rest of the show was more skippable than not.

Alexander Wolfe being abruptly pulled from tonight's show due to "stomach pains" issues is interesting.

Any other time or company and it wouldn't be nothing to think about but considering the amount of times NXT has been hit with COVID outbreaks, wonder if he recently contracted the virus.

Wait ... shouldn't the ref be calling off this Ruff vs. Dunne match considering Regal said earlier he wasn't cleared to compete?

Even for an open challenge match, Ruff still wouldn't be eligible to answer the call.

Going to assume whoever is in charge of pressing the fake crowd buttons pushed the wrong one since those boos were a bit weird.

Then again might be a really low tone "oooo" chant that's getting played since it happened a few times afterwards. Whatever it is, its been weird sound byte to use since its not being done for cheating spots.

NXT Women's title was a pretty good hard hitting match even if it dragged a bit at times.

WTF $20 million for that house is way too crazy. Its a fine looking fancy house but not one of those mega mansion types that go for those large sums of money.

Would have been funny had Bobby Fish acted like he had no clue Undisputed Era disbanded for his surprise return tonight.

Ending to the NXT Cruiser title match was a bit rough but the match itself was mostly very good.

Only real complaint is that match would have been much better off as just a regular match though since the first half was mostly nothing special and NXT sort of pulled a WWE main roster shows with the booking of the first two falls. Everything after the commercial break was very good and when the match really hit the next level.

This week's show was very entertaining overall and way better than the boring show RAW had yesterday.

Some of these fake audio chants and crowd sound clips WWE plays for these ThunderDome-based shows have been awful because it either just sounds bad or is like a 1-2 second clip repeated non-stop for too long.

Ted DiBiase's antics was the best part of a pretty dull match between Cameron Grimes and Jake Atlas.

Not sure what the end goal is for this Grimes & DiBiase rich man feud since its just been DiBiase making fun of Grimes each week. They already established that Grimes is a moron and has way less money than DiBiase so he can't really outsmart DiBiase nor out spend him to get the upper hand.

Killian Dane completely squashing Alexnader Wolfe is something I didn't expect to happen with their match tonight.

Guess Wolfe is out of Imperium now based on that post-match beating by his pals.

Legado Del Fantasma vs. Ciampa &amp; Thatcher was a very good hard hitting match despite the shenanigans at the end by the Grizzled Young Vets.

Don't understand why WWE has such a huge phobia when it comes to booking tv matches to not end via shenanigans or in a satisfying manner. AEW and other promotions have this type of problem as well but WWE goes way overboard with the frequency of it for their weekly shows.

The Way are still the lamest thing about NXT in recent times though.

This Hit Row stable really needs someone similar to Max Caster to make it work.

Like they feel like what WWE thinks a hip hop group is and not what they actually are since the promo work is the weakest part about them so far. No rhythm or freestyle feel to whenever they sprout out stuff.

Like with Max Caster, he makes his rap and lyrical stuff feel natural while Hit Row doesn't capture that same feeling yet whenever they talk or try to "throw down."

Gargano is either repping the X-Men or the Fantastic Four for his comics inspired gear tonight.

NXT is very lucky USA Network gives them an overrun since 9 minutes left in the show and the main event cage match only just started.

According to a recent episode of the Mat Men podcast show, the current Cameron Grimes vs. Ted DiBiase feud is meant to result in the revival of the Million Dollar Championship for NXT. Its not currently known if the belt will be a long term thing for NXT or just for the current Grimes rich guy storyline and feud with DiBiase.

That would give NXT 7 belts for their brand with 6 being exclusive. For some reference, that would be more than what RAW and SD currently have for belts. RAW has 6 belts with 5 being exclusive and SD has 5 with 4 being exclusive. The 24/7 title is mainly a RAW brand belt while both brands only really share the Women's Tag title belts.

The start of this women's tag match might be the sloppiest start to an opening match in NXT in recent years.

Not sure if its just a bad case of the nerves or Ember & Shotzi don't mesh well with Raquel to start off a match.

Is WWE the only company that regularly has the habit of champ loses belt and then immediately jumps into a title feud for a belt that is one step higher or lower than what they had just held?

NXT just did that with Santos Escobar where he recently lost his Cruiser title and now is starting a feud with Bronson Reed for the NA belt. No climbing the ladder or anything to get that feud.

Edit: Holy shit, they sort of just did it again with Johnny Gargano getting put into a #1 contender's match for the NXT title just a week after he lost the NA title.

NXT title match was pretty good overall but could have been several minutes shorter. Took way too long for it to hit that next gear and felt like almost every Kross match in NXT so far in terms of pacing and flow.

This week's show was all right overall although last week's show was a lot more entertaining for comparisons.

I haven’t really been following NXT much at all. I think Kross is going to lose the NXT Title so he can go up to Raw though. He and Scarlett seem like an act Vince would love. Unless he decides Kross has no charisma and he can’t understand why Scarlett would fuck him. Honestly, I do get Sable/Mero vibes from them.

If I HAD to subtly suggest to the WWE ways to improve NXT and the main roster within their own universe, I would float the idea of having Bray Wyatt return to NXT. He’s a “name,” which helps NXT. He’d also get more autonomy over the direction of his gimmick and make it more “earthy.” Plus he’s no longer clogging up the WWE main roster.

He could have a fine feud with Finn Balor or something. You could even build to The Fiend vs. The Demon, without supernatural stuff, and have something give there. And I don’t have to watch it.

I’m hoping with the teasing of a Dunne and Joe feud that they don’t go that road. Would rather see Dunne become Joe’s boy to wrestle in matches for him and do his dirty work as he hasn’t been cleared to wrestle.
Just keep teasing it for a while and have Regal and Joe in the ring. Regal could be thanking Joe for helping to sort out NXT and then Dunne runs down , talks some shit to Regal in his brummie accent and then starts attacking Regal. Then Joe plays like he is about to take out Dunne and instead just smiles and shakes his hand.
