This is probably one of the best shows i've seen. I loved the Cole vs Ricochet match. I loved the main event. I really really loved the tag match and i thought the women's match was pretty damn good. I think the women's match might have told a better story than the Main Event. It's crazy that a Velvitene Dream match was the worst on the card but that match was good too.

I'm not sure how to rank these matches. I really really loved 4 of the 5 matches and the 5th match i really really liked.

Gargano suffered a legit injury during his match with Ciampa and the ending we got was not the originally planned ending. Triple H mentioned it in the post-Takeover press conference.

He was asked how much went as they expected vs. what happened. He said that sometimes stuff happens. Clearly he wasn’t planning on Gargano hurting himself. They changed on the fly but it was supposed to go differently than it did. But the only people that knew that were those who were involved with the planning. He mentioned Dusty Rhodes told him that if he can get 70% of what you see in your mind happens, that’s great. He did a great Dusty impression when he said it.

What I heard and what makes the most sense is
if Gargano is hurt then you let Ciampa get called up to the main Roster by being in the Rumble and have Gargano sneak out through the crowd and eliminate him near the end costing him a WM title match and then continue the feud onto the main roster. Although the only legit problem with that is that theres zero chance they get 30+ minute matches on ppvs on the main roster. But they've really done all they can in nxt..

I couldnt get into it because I saw all the rumors about them having Ronda/Baszler and MMA friends vs Sasha/Becky/Charlotte/Bayley at Survivor Series which obviously meant Baszler was losing tonight so she could be called up. Which also ruins tomorrow night because you have to figure that Ronda is winning and Charlotte is winning, which then segues into a Champ vs Champ match at Evolution which then gets ruined by interference setting up the 4 vs 4 match the following month.
WWE also kinda foreshadowed all of this already by anouncing Alexa vs Trish for Evolution, theres no reason that would be a title match.

Had Omega vs Ishii spoiled for me. Still loved it.

Also, Kairi needs to teach Cena how to sell after a match.

Not only that but the finish made Baszler look bad and shes 1-2 vs some woman the cosplays as a pirate for a gimmick and they're going throw her in with Ronda and friends as some sort of awesome bad ass group of mma chicks. I get the group is based on the fact that they're all friends but Baszler has as much credibility in the role as Sonya Deville would if they figured a way to use her instead.

Gargano and Ciampa have headlined multiple TakeOver events, and each match is completely different and delivers. That is such a huge testament to how good both of those guys are.

The ending to Takeover Chicago was less predictable. As soon as I realized Gargano cuffed Ciampa right at the edge of the stage where he could roll off to his feet (like he did early in the match from the ring) I knew that whatever Gargano did was going to backfire.

Also, 1,000,000,000 percent when Ronda vs Charlotte happens it will be at a bigger show than Evolution.

How is the first ever Women's only PPV and Champion vs Champion match not a big deal. They could even make it a unification match so the women's champon crosses both brands.

The only way Ronda/Charlotte would be a bigger deal at WM than Main Eventing Evolution is if it was the Main Event of WM.

I could see Becky vs Ronda too since that also would fit in with the 4 on 4 hype and plus they both sorta do the same thing (ARM BAR vs DISARMHER) but they cant have Becky Lynch win at Summerslam only to get wrecked by Ronda the next month

I cannot wait to watch this show on the network. You guys I literally had the LAST ROW way up top and for whatever reason SEAT GEEK didn’t release my tickets so I called them at 6:20 (the tickets said start time 6:15) and the amazing customer service upgraded me 10th ROW AISLE, two seats from the ramp! AMAZING EXPERIENCE. Like I was in fn shock. My gf was in shock. We were blessed by the wrestling gods last night in every way possible. Every match was so fun so good. I can’t believe my damn luck!

Watching the show now on The Network, the opening tag match is a lot better on TV. Maybe because I had just gotten there in the middle of the UK Title dark match due to my ticket issue. I think my section detracted from my enjoying this match as much. On TV it's fantastic.
