What Road Dogg will tell you: She's a sore loser. Charlotte won fair and square and overcame the mountain first. Becky is ethically bankrupt because she gets frustrated by her failures instead of passively accepting them with grace and honor.

What Road Dogg won't point out: The subtext of this is the implied redundancy of those characters and their struggles. That when a protagonist has a goal and someone gets in the way, they are actually an antagonist, because they are an obstacle for that protagonist to overcome. Life may not be fair, but when it is made unfair by a hegemonic system that favors privileged agents, people generally like someone trying to buck it.

Three-way matches are also an overused gimmick that remove a lot of the fight psychology that wrestling is based around in order to replace it with statistical chance game theory drama, as an over-complicated version of Russian Roulette. Charlotte didn't beat Carmella; she beat Carmella and Becky with an unnecessary amount of variables. Charlotte isn't dominant in her victory -- she got to fire the bullet because of chance and fortune. That is why people perceive Becky as being disadvantaged and why it makes sense for her, believing in herself, to believe she can be Charlotte one-on-one -- in a "proper fight."

Remember when WWE forgot that the point of wrestling matches is to win them, and they thought that Roman coming out and saying "Well, as you can see, I got my ass beat" would somehow make him endearing instead of looking like someone who can't achieve the one thing his gimmick needs to?

She had a shit load of steam built towards winning the title as a face. Probably the most she ever has had. The simple move is the put her over That One Chick. It would have been a culminating moment. Why didnt they do this? This is the whole point? Fuck WWE!

Oh, and you're supposed to boo Becky because she is the heel. WWE stopped giving you reasons for things a long time ago. Why would anyone cheer Roman Reigns? Like, what makes him "good?" I know the line, don't worry. But that is a response to him not working as a babyface.

He came into the company and was a huge prick. He beat up everybody with glee. Then his buddy turns on him and we're supposed to like him...because? I think he saved a legend once. It may have been for his own Machiavellian benefit though. But Roman Reigns doesn't give any advice to kids or help any little old ladies cross the street. Not that people would like him for that, but there is almost literally no reason to actually kayfabe like Roman Reigns, other than WWE has positioned him against heels and Michael Cole seems to love him. His assigned disposition is his morality.

So I would suggest that part of the reason you are supposed to boo Becky Lynch is honestly because she's a heel. Grrr. Damn her. Listen to Tom Phillips talk about her "heinous" actions. Grrr. Love Charlotte. Why? Just love Charlotte.

Raw's situation is more complicated. See, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose just launched a cowardly attack on Braun Strowman. But they still like to have fun. Braun Strowman also tried to launch a cowardly attack on Roman Reigns, but he also likes to have fun. So it is okay to cheer them both, even if you don't like cowardly actions. Kevin Owens may interject himself in this, and given well-reasoned points and lack of cowardice, which may endear you towards him, it is very important to keep in mind that he does not like to have fun.

Because Road Dogg and WWE thought they came up with a really great idea but instead came up with one of the dumbest storylines of the year. Just another instance of them being tone deaf in overpushing the stars they only care about (ex. Charlotte) instead of pushing the stars that crowds want (ex. Becky).

In Post Wrestling’s review of SD tonight, John Pollock mentioned that after the show he heard from someone in the company that after the response to Becky last week they have changed direction.

He says that going forward they don’t want to portray it as a defined face and heel. Rather, they want it to just be two ex-friends who both have valid reasons why they are against one another and neither will back down from the other.

 He made it sound like Becky will be portrayed more as an anti-hero than an outright heel going forward.
