How times have changed, back in the day of the Smackdown games a thread would have been made for the next game as soon as the old one was released.

Anyway here to discuss how bad Tyler Bate looks. Also due to my kids never playing 2k18 but continuing to play the Smackdown V Raw games on the PS2 I don’t think I will be picking it up till it goes cheaper

Only active members of the Raw roster to not make it into the game were Bobby Lashley and Mike Kanellis. Lashley will be DLC probably. Kanellis...wow. It shows how irrelevant he is when there are gonna be like 200 characters in this and even Oney Lorcan got into the game over him.

I would love to see the sales figures of the WWE games, beginning with WWF SmackDown and finishing with 2K18.

I'm pretty sure the sales would be great to begin with but then they would start to go down slowly around SvR 10/11, and then it pretty much plummeting when it reaches 2K15/16 once everyone knew that they were just getting the exact same game as the previous year, but with an updated roster.

One time I was late for pre-ordering SmackDown vs Raw and I missed out, so I had to go to Comet of all places to buy it on the day of release and there were only around two or three copies of the game left.

I have 2k18 for PC. It runs like shit with my graphics card, but I do enjoy it. Still have a lot to do in it though, so I'll be skipping this one.

It's because the game has bare minimum changes annually that they don't really need to sale a lot of copies. Also this is the only WWE main series for two console generations. Even when the competition was in-house, you can see the sibling rivaly between Aki and Yukes. And of course Anchor and Acclaim gave their shots. Now? Like Madden the entire market is bottlenecked for guaranteed sales enough to do it again.

WWE won't let them. 2K Games tried to do something similar a year or two after they got the license but couldn't because of some terms in the deal. Pretty much are forced to release a game on time each year or risk their WWE license.

Since then, 2K Games became more lazy with their handling of the license and realizing its not worth the effort nor the money to do the drastic changes needed. Also realized why THQ never bothered to drop Yukes since they are a very cheap and reliable developer for pumping out yearly games.

It's lifespan is two games.

So it appears that Tommaso Ciampa, The Brian Kendrick, and Nikki Cross have in fact been left out of the game.

The theory is that Ciampa, Kendrick, and Cross were all off TV for long periods of time around the cutoff (which is before Mania season).

But all 3 were in the game and are still with WWE so it's kinda ridiculous that they wouldn't get ported over.

This year its Nikki Cross while last year it was Dakota Kai who got the same treatment.

I saw a video showing the entrances of all the females in the game and I've got to say, most of their faces were terrible.

Notable mentions are Mandy Rose, who's lips look insanely swollen, Beth Phoenix, who seems to be sporting some sort of Jay Leno jaw and Charlotte Flair, who at some angles, looks like Weird Al.

The commentating isn't really that great either as every entrance seems to start off with Michael Cole yelling some kind of introduction even though he doesn't really do that with everyone, so everyone's entrance is kinda similar to Sasha Banks' or Roman Reigns' when Cole yells "IT'S BOSS TIME!" or "THE BIG DOG!".

Halfway through some entrances, Cole says things that you can tell is trying to give the commentary in the game an authentic feel but it just comes across as random and a bit weird.

Talking of Mandy Rose earlier, her entrance isn't really done that well as she spends a good amount of it with her face blurred because it's quite obvious that her entrance animation was already done when she debuted her own entrance and theme and all that the guys at WWE 2KHQ have done is just added her own theme, music, graphics and slapped a blur effect over her entrance without even touching her animation and camera angles.

Big Head mode looks pretty fun but performance-wise, doesn't seem Yukes fixed the lingering bugs the series has had for years. Also very minimalist for menus and stuff in terms of design.

Trying to redeem the code I got gets me "the voucher is no longer valid" and I can't get any help from Sony Best Buy 2K or anyone else..they all keep saying the code is valid on their end and best buy blames 2K 2K blames best buy and Sony hasn't responded back to me

If I remember correctly, its mostly due to WWE not helping out or telling Yukes and/or 2K Games anything ahead of time. Outside of some rare exceptions like Benoit's death or Big Show getting removed from WWF No Mercy, Yukes pretty much is kept in the dark the majority of the time.

Like WWE could have easily sent 2K Games an advance copy of the new opening video to add in late in the game's development or as a Day 1 patch but refused.

Finally got around to starting Universe Mode.

I removed all of the female superstars as I’ve no interest in playing as them, disbanded 205 and made a Cruiser Division on Raw, and lastly disbanded NXT due to the shallow roster depth, and assigned all the male superstars and teams to Raw and SmackDown.

I gave each of the NXT Champions a MITB briefcase to cash in on the counterpart championship (NXT Champ for World Title, North American/UK Championship for Intercontinental/US Championship).

Aleister Black announced his cash-in on night 1 of Raw and beat Roman Reigns to become Universal Champion.

Over on SDL Adam Cole (BayBay) cashed in his briefcase for the United States Championship and beat Nakamura for the belt, using a rebranded NA Championship belt as the US Championship. Meanwhile O’Reily and Fish were made auto #1 Contenders for the SD Tag belts and won them.

There are 2 live rivalries on Raw (The Revival (Tag #1 Contenders) vs The B Team (Tag Champs) and Elias vs Rollins (IC Champ)) and 3 Potential rivalries (Ziggler vs Hawkins, Braun vs Balor, and Black (Universal Champ) vs Brock (#1 Contender)). On SDL there are also 2 live rivalries (The Bludgeon Bros vs The Good Bros, and Nakamura vs Veleteen Dream - which has 1 week remaining) and 7 potential rivalries (The Bar vs Fish/O’Reilly, Woods vs Big E, Benjamin vs Sullivan, Bryan vs Mysterio, Sanity vs Colons, Joe vs Orton, Styles (WWE Champ) vs Jeff Hardy)

Tbf, I accidentally engaged one of the potential feuds and it completely changed the card.

Black vs Lesnar Extreme Rules for the Universal Title (instead of vs Gulak)
Styles vs Bryan for the WWE Title (which wasn’t on the card at all)
Rollins vs Ziggler for the IC Title (which wasn’t on the card)
Velveteen Dream vs Ohno Falls Count Anywhere (with Nakamura attacking Dream after the match, although their feud will now climax on SD)

It’s not GM Mode, it doesn’t matter who’d watch it in real life.

In the game NXT has a paper thin roster. There’s literally a UK title division with 2 guys in it. Tag division has 4-5 teams. To avoid the same matches constantly and not have 4 lots of loading screens to wade through for every week of play I find it easier/more interesting to have just the 2 rosters.

None of that explains how a random Breezango vs Ascension appears out of nowhere on a PPV.

I played a match with Dakota Kai and Lacey Evans, after wards Liv Morgan came out to attack me and Lacey Evans was struck doing a constant roll on the floor while Kai and Morgan went at it, It literally never ended till the scene ended.

I wanted to set one Champion to go across 2 shows but you can’t do it as it mixes the 2 divisions together and both divisions appear on both shows. Need to see if there’s a workaround.
