I've been curious about this one since I first heard about it. Nicolas Cage can still get down.

Just finished it.

Insane. Great visuals.

Nicolas Cage has probably the most Nicolas Cage scene of all-time.

I'm glad he ventured out to do something that wasn't terrible.

More Nicolas Cage than the one the Wickerman?

It's really good.

The first 45 minutes ( first act ) was very very slow . The movie actually is separated into 3 acts and they all have names, but its all the same movie.

Cage doesnt have a ton of lines, its mostly physical acting. AND HE'S REALLY GOOD.

There were a few Full Cage moments. I think the one slik is referring to is the bathroom scene and it was for sure one of the All-Time great Full Cage moments. Normally my first instinct is to laugh at these, because he goes Full Cage when it's not needed, but this movie needed Full Cage. I didnt laugh at all. It was intense. Cage was so good in this movie.

The first act was slow. The second act felt like a trippy tansition. The third act was GLORIOUS!

The cinematography and the score of this movie are some of the best i've ever seen or heard. I think the movie should be nominated for Oscars in this department. They should probably get a Director nomination. And i think Cage and Linus Roache should be nominated too.

Like is said before, the first 45 minutes of this movie is very slow and boring, but after seeing the very last scene of the movie, I have to go back and rewatch the entire thing because I think i missed some clues.

It's equal to that.

It involves a bloodied Nicolas Cage drinking an entire bottle of vodka at once, without wearing pants and screaming for an entire minute.

Nicolas Cage's career is something to celebrate. He has done everything there is to do in Hollywood and now he has taken on a sort of mythical "wanderer" status as he flits between B-movies, stopping to pop his head into the occasional masterpiece once in a while.

When you go broke, go Nick Cage broke. It's more interesting.

It's oscar worthy. No joke.

Linus Roache is so fucking good. Cage is so fucking good. The cinematography is the best and the score is... FUCK MY LIFE.. the SCORE IS AMAZING .

It's legit. It's one of the best movies of the year.

What this director did with this movie is true art. And the guy doing the score, who is dead now i've heard, good lord he hit a home run with this movie. The score is unreal. The score of this movie could make terrible movies great. But this is way better than a terrible movie.

Just finished my 2nd watching of this movie.

Let me start by saying, I had no knowledge of this movie until this thread was made.

I think this movie is incredible. I think its a masterful work of art. I think the director of this movie is fucking brilliant. I dont know how Nic Cage found this part, or this director, but he nails it. He is amazing. Linus Roache is amazing.

I think this movie is a legit Oscar winning movie. I think this movie should win several oscars. I think Cage and Roache should win one. I think the director should win one and the man who did the score of this movie ( who has passed away ) should for sure win one.

This is one of the best movies i've seen in a long time and trust me, I asked myself how i can say such a thing with Nic Cage involved. The man has toiled in B rated movies forever. I cant explain it. This is a fantastic movie experience. It's one of the best movies i've ever seen.

Mandy (2018) rented on HUDU - 4.5/5

I just watched this last night and I'm sure I will watch it again at some point because I really liked it. I LOVED the way aesthetic of this film from the lighting, the depth of the film, may have been digital but very much looked like film, the costumes, set design, special FX, everything reeked of high budget late 70's horror. I would also compare the gore to a Cronenberg style, certain elements looked like old school special fx which are dearly missed for me. Screw CGI. I'd rather see a high quality maniquin get burned instead of a CG rendering. Cage was really great, all the actors were great. The NIC CAGE moment is f'n hilarious. He's really funny when he wants to be. This is a special film, one of the best revenge films I can remember. The cult leader Jerimiah is horrifying, I hated him. I also read on IMDB the actor who plays him is an actual cult leader, creepy. If had one gripe it would be the showdown scenes were too highly choreographed, I'd rather have seen a sloppy brawl of sorts, that lowered the rating for me.

Lucy was cuter than Mandy, though.

I loved that moment. He was great. He knows the right balance of his comedy and crazy mixed with realism and heartbroken.

This film has been impossibly overhyped. The scores don't meet with the reviews. I fear another Neon Demon.

I don't think it's absoutely meant to be taken literally.

I mean red is stil probably tripping balls from the drugs he took. Not to mention the whole ordeal possibly driving him insane.

Then there's the fact that it's a weird movie in general, and it could mean anyrhing.
